"You're still better off than me," Cleve said, "I'll probably be chocked to death." He sighed, but he didn't want to lower the morale. He decided to change the topic.

"Dan," Cleve continued, "what it that thing you just took the picture with?"

"It's a smartphone. A combination of a cellphone and a pda." Dan said, "Want to look it over?" He asked holding it out to Cleve after he had turned it off.

"Oooo" Cleve said as he took the smartphone form Dan. He liked it's shiny cover. He had no idea that a cell phone could be so small.

"This really is neat!" Cleve said, "The technology of the future never fails to astonish me." He handed the cell phone back to Dan.

The stars were beginning to come up. The night sky was fairly similar to the night sky in 1943. With no light pollution, every star in the sky was twinkling.

"You know guys," Cleve sighed, "this is the best night sky I've ever seen." Suddenly, a comet flew from the sky.

"Hey look!" Cleve exclaimed, "a comet. Quick, make a wish!"

Frank watched as the comet flew out of sight and made his wish. "So is there a place we can overlook the valley deimos," frank asked.

"I can imagine what most will wish for." Dan said, not wishing for himself but wishing the wishes of the others could come true. Thinking that is better then wishing himself back.

"Nice view here. I wonder if there are other views as nice. And with the lack of light pollution so many stars can be seen here." Dan said.

Deimos nodded. "There is a outcropping on the outskirts of the Great Valley. I can take you there if you wish but I must warn you, the path to the outcropping is treacherous, one misstep can kill," he said.

Quietly, Cleve made a wish. Like Dan, instead of wishing to return to his time, he wished that Frank could return safely to the US and propose to his girlfriend. After seeing the beautiful landscapes, he was seriously considering not leaving. His brother had already been killed in the war, and he had no close family members, or close friends left. If he could find some friends here, he would stay.

Cleve turned to answer Frank's question. "None of us should be alone. I suggest that we either all go, all stay, or split into teams of two. I personally suggest that Dan stay behind with you, and I'll go with Deimos to the outcropping. I have a walking stick, and you guys don't."

"We should stay together. As for no weapon I do have this flare gun, and a mace gun, as well as this stun pen." Dan said, holding up some of the weapons he had in his pocket. "I don't think any dangerous type would be at least distracted with a flare in their mouth."

"Yeah it would be better if we stay together," frank said. Frank thought about his mother he knew that both she and his gilrfriend would be worrying about him he thought to himself "I promise you I'll get back home safely I hope my new friends also get back home."

"Alright then," Cleve said, "The moon is bright, so seeing shouldn't be much of a problem. Just watch your step and be careful." Back then, in the time of the dinosaurs, the moon was a lot closer to Earth.

"Yeah I'll be careful like we all should," frank said. Frank looked up at the sky and thought about this new world and how nobody would beleive him if he told people about it.

Deimos finally arrived at a large outcropping that overlooked the Great Valley.

"Here we are, Overlook Rock," he said.

The panorama was gorgeous with the verdant land of the Great Valley bathed in moonlight.

"Wow it's just so peaceful when I do retire from the military I want it to be a place like this a nice peaceful area," frank said. Frank looked over the valley and sighed thinking "remember you have to get back home."

"Yeah," Cleve responded, "Me too. This is surely a wonderful sight. Too bad we'll be the only humans to enjoy it."

In the distance, he could see a waterfall and a strange rock formation, looking down at the valley like a guardian. There were trees, rocks, ponds, and clearings everywhere. It seemed like a wonderful place.

"So this is the Great Valley euh?" Cleve said, "Should we go down there to investigate?" Cleve pointed his walking stick at the valley.

"It is a wonderful sight." Dan said, enjoying the sight before he got the idea to take a picture. He held up his cellphone and started to take some more pictures. "It does look very peaceful." He said, as he took pictures, glad he had a micro sdhc card in the cellphone with a lot of storage ability.

Deimos looked at the strange - to him - equipment that Dan took out. He then turned to Frank. "We'd better get going, James is probably waiting for us. And we should explore further into the Great Valley," he said.

He then carefully headed down the mountain trail

Dan did his best to be sure to get pictures of Deimos too. Now that he thought of it it would be neat to have pictures of a real dinosaur. Even if for no reason but to look at later.
