A small smile came across Frank's face "I remember my cousin Walter he was about my age we spent most of the summer pulling pranks on each other." "I joined the air corps after i got back from Germany and he wrote me telling me that he had joined the U-boat corps we kepted in touch until the war began."

Rocky was curious about these strange creatures, the were unlike any dinosaur the young forest green dome head ever saw. He had been watching them from afar. from what he could hear, they seemed to like to see who could tell the worst story. However his eavesdropping came to an end as the small hill top ledge he was on gave way. down he came tumbling before he slide to a stop within sight of the strange creatures. He was gripped with fear at the thought of their bang sticks. Rocky closed his eyes tightly and held his head down. "Pleeese, don't hurt me." he shivered with fear.

"what...." Dan said as he was suddenly woken up. He looked up to see what had woken him up. "Who's he?" Dan asked, not quite fully awake yet, as he looked at Rocky.

Frank lowered his both his handguns setting them next to him. "Don't worry we won't hurt you." frank said.

Deimos snapped his footclaws forward as he ran to where Rocky had landed. "We're not going to hurt you if you give us the right answers," he replied.

James came running from the car with his shotgun at the ready. "What the hell's that racket?!" he demanded.

"New arrival. Don't think I ever saw him before."

Rocky's shivering slowed but did not cease. "He opened his eyes and looked up at the strangers. " M..my name is Rocky a dome head, my family was killed by red claw." He said as he looked over at the one who held the long bang stick. "Please don't use your bang sticks. I'm sorry for watching you." He quivered as he got on his hands and feet. Rocky was still young. about the height of the glider with these strangers. "I followed you because I was curious about those." He said pointing the weapons in their hands. " I never saw anything hurt or scare sharpteeth off like that before." Rocky stated, curious about these strange things. He looked towards Deimos. "Are those good enough for you?" He asked as he looked towards the one who spoke the strange word. "Excuse me, what does hell mean." The young Dome head asked.

Dan sat up and rubbed his head a bit, running the fingers of his left hand through his hair briefly before he started to stand up. "A new arrival?" He said as he again looked over in the direction of where the new arrival was.

Cleve examined Rocky, but Cleve saw no need to use his gun. Deimos, James, and Frank already had the situation under control.

"It looks like we do have a new arrival," Cleve muttered to Dan, "Fortunately, he seems friendly."

Cleve cautious approached the dome head, but he kept alert. He listened and looked to make sure that there was no one waiting to ambush them while they were distracted by the new arrival.

"Dan," Cleve ordered, "Watch our backs. Make sure there's no one trying to ambush us."

Cleve turned to the new Dome Head. "So you were there when Frank and I shot that weird creature?" Cleve asked, "And who's Red Claw?"

Dan went to get his flare gun to keep it in his hand then he went to keep watch on the part of the camp and the area around the camp where he had been asked to watch. "Wish I had some IR goggles or night vision ones. Never saw a need for those and they are pretty pricey." He said.

"Yes, that was called a fast biter and they are one of the many different kinds of sharp teeth." Rocky said as he stood up. Convinced he was safe. "Yes, I heard those things, but I heard you say stuff that sounds weird. And Red claw, he is the biggest, meanest sharptooth around, he has two fast biters who serve him named thud and screech. "Rocky explained. "When thud and screech are near by, red claw is always close by." Rocky told them. "How do your bang sticks work?" He asked, pointing to their guns.

Deimos nodded. "That'll do for now," he said.

James lowered his shotgun. "I don't think he's dangerous," he said.

Deimos went up to the campfire and prodded the cold ashes with his stone knife. "Well, now that everyone's up; how about we eat breakfast?" he asked.

James leaned the shotgun against a nearby log. "Sounds fine to me. Cleve, Frank, Rocky, Matthew, you okay with breakfast now?" he asked.

frank took apart his M1911 to show rocky the inner workings. "Well rocky the hammer hits the end of the bullet which sends the slug down the barrel toward whatever the shooter is aiming at then the top part of the gun slids back and the magazine feeds a fresh bullet into the firing chamber." frank said.

Rocky looked in awe at the bang stick as Frank took it apart and explained it to him. He was astonished one of those bullets as they were called were able to do that. Rocky curiously picked up a bullet. "This puney thing killed a fast bitter?" He asked, almost as if he didn't believe it if he didn't see it for himself. Rocky then put the bullet back down.

When Frank finished, Rocky was even more confused. "What's a magazine, a hammer and a slug?" he asked the strange creature. " Is it hard to make these bang stick guns and these Bul-lets?" He asked curiously.

Dan kept watch as best as he could to try to make sure there was no one trying to sneak where the camp was. He kept his flare gun handy. Not as damaging as a real gun it was the best he had since the mace gun didn't have as long of a range.

James stretched. "I'm going to harvest some fruit," he said, grabbing a metal bucket from his SUV. He then turned to Rocky. "You want to help me gather food?" he asked.

Deimos shrugged. "I'm going off to catch fish," he said, entering the main lake.

"I'm going to follow you, Deimos," Cleve said, "It's too dangerous to be alone." Cleve, who grew up near a river, knew how to fish, but this is the first time he's going fishing in the Great Valley.

"I've never fished in prehistoric times before," Cleve said with a chuckle, "I hope that the fishes would be at least the same."
