Fury blinked as he opened his eyes. He could've sworn he was just blinking, as he looked around he noticed he was siting in Rinkus' bed made from leaves. He blushed as he sneezed again and looked up at Luke with a goofy smile. "Thanks. I think... sitting out in that skywater last night was a bad idea." he said aloud as he sneezed again.

Tero flapped down to the ledge, ready to report where the others had gone, but found that nobody was there waiting. He ventured in and saw Luke tending to Fury, lying prone on the floor, while Redback could be seen brooding near the back of the cave.

"So Tero, any word on our friends?"

Turning, he saw that Zin had returned to the cave entrance, holding a handful of fish, freshly dredged from the pond. Tero pointed outside the cave, towards some nearby mountains.

"Ah, they're off by the lake, We'll bet... Anyways, Redback's a bit down, you may have noticed. Could you take these to him?"

Tero nodded and scooped the fish into his wings. He carried them into the cave and deposited them next to Redback.

"You'll be okay," Luke told Fury, "Just try to keep warm. And if you need to sneeze... well, try not to get too much on Jared." He grinned at Fury and stood up.

Smelling fish, Luke whirled round. "Nice catch!" he said cheerfully, as he scampered over and snatched up a handful. "I love the smell of fish in the morn -" he began, stopping when he realised who they were intended for. "Sorry Redback..." he said guiltily, dropping them back down - but keeping hold of one behind his back.

The Sharptooth managed a smile as he raised his head "Ah, go ahead, Luke. Have some... After putting up with me all this time you deserve it."

Redback then stood up and grabbed himself a handful of fish, stuffing them into his mouth, bones and all.

"So, shall we head out, Dad?" Devon asked, pointing at the sea.

Pterano chuckled. "Sure son. Let's get going, shall we?" they were about to take off when Pterano clutched his stomach and groaned in pain, leaning against the sculpture.

"Dad!" the blue flyer shouted, rushing to his father's side.

Petrie and Harper darted over as well. "What wrong?" Petrie asked, just as worried as Devon and Harper tried to scrutinize and see if she could spot out the problem, but was left just as in the dark as the others. Some kind of...stomach...issue.

"Is it your back?" Devon asked worriedly, taking his father by the arm to help him keep balanced.

"No, definitly not that." Pterano replied, trying to stand up straight. "Don't worry, I'll be fine. Shall we take off now?"

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah." Pterano swallowed, standing up straight.

"Yeah, climb on my back, I'll carry you." Pterano replied, bending over so Chomper could get on.

Chomper climbed up on the back of the old flyer.

All four flyers took off into the skies, all watching for fish. "Oh! I see one!" Pterano shouted, flying lower. "Hold on, Chomper!"

"Good catch, Pterano!" Chomper yelled out after he dipped his head in the water for a nice ripe one. Chomper almost fell off from all the movement, but he managed to stay on. Unfortunately, Chomper didn't notice that he dug his claws just a little bit into the old flyer while trying to stay on.

With a fish in his mouth, he landed back on the beach, suddenly realizing that he was growing tired. He swallowed the fish and took deep breaths. Devon placed a hand on his back. "Dad are you okay?" he asked nervously.

"I'll be fine, Devon. I'm...just a little tired." His voice drifted off and all of a sudden, he began to cough uncontrollably. His vision blurred and the next thing he saw was black before he collapsed to the ground, slipping into unconsciousness.

"DAD!!!!"

"Ok then. Thanks Redback." Luke took out the fish from behind his back and chomped into it.

Frowning, he looked outside. "The others are taking a while. What do you think's keeping 'em?"

After they landed, Harper had just frowned a bit in sensing something more was up about Uncle Pterano coughing again when he all out collapsed. She gasped and Petrie immedietly darted over, looking just as worried as Devon.

"What...what happen?" was all he could ask, even if he knew no one around him probably had answers. Harper walked over and, much as she felt bad about something possibly having happened to her uncle as well, she also knew how bad Petrie was going to and was probably taking it even with the worry.

"I...I'm sure...it's nothing..." she couldn't even finish her try at optomism. Harper just put a wing around Petrie for a bit. She didn't want to leave him or Devon right now but then they both probably wouldn't want to leave Pterano and someone had to get to doing something.

"I'll go fly and get the others" she offered, flapping up.

"I dunno! He just started coughing and well..." Devon's voice drifted off, too shocked and worried to say any more. He just stared down at the old flyer, hoping, praying that he would be okay.

"No clue, Luke." Replied Redback as he munched at a particularly juicy fish.

"Tero told us they're down by the lake" Came Zin's voice from the ledge. "They should be back before nightfall."

Redback nodded, as he picked a bone from between his teeth with a claw. He watched Tero, who had taken up his usual spot on the ledge, just sitting and staring out at the landscape. He then looked further down in the cave where Rinkus and Jared were fast asleep, lying side by side, and then to Luke. It was then that he said something totally unexpected and sudden:

"Hey Luke... Thanks for being my friend."

Luke looked up at Redback in suprise. "Oh... it's no problem. I like being your friend." He grinned and swallowed the last of his fish. "I never thought I'd say that to a sharptooth."

Following Tero's gaze, he continued; "It can get kind of lonely out here. Sometimes you can make friends with the last person you'd have thought possible."

Petrie hoped the same, even if he knew Harper was pretty reliable when she said she was going somewhere, he didn't like the waiting for her to get to the others.

Harper was taking her self appointed mission seriously though and flapped back over to the cave as quick as her little wings could take her. She was sort of surprised she remembered the way on her own, but didn't dwell on it too much.

"We...got a problem..." she panted, landing on the ledge but right outside the cave entrance as well in a heap and catching her breath, "It's...Uncle Pterano, he...something's wrong with him!".

Pterano coughed one more time, opening his eyes to see his nephew and son gazing down at him worriedly. "Devon...P-Petrie..." was all he could stutter out before he took a deep breath, slipping into unconsciousness.
