Not really. DVDs can be kind of expensive over here, and the only way to watch them is on a Japanese DVD player because their Region 2 lock...
Ahhh...the wonders of unlocking DVD's and cracking region codes.... It's actually quite simple with the right equipment. You just need a computer with a few simple programs. And before you go saying you don't have a region 2 DVD player in your computer, you can change your DVD drive's region a few times (3 I think). Just pop it over to region 2, copy the movies directly onto your hard drive, and you're 100% golden! MKV format works great for this. That's one of the reasons why a lot of Japanese anime is in MKV format. I have a few friends from Japan that can get me exclusive content that isn't available anywhere else. If you do end up buying any anime when you're over there, do the rest of the internet a favor and share. It really sucks when that one anime you want can't be purchased in the country you're in.
