' thanks tigeress said ' after this, you want to go catch up on stuff?' agumina nodded ' sure, havent had to chance to chat with you lately.. i mean not since the hotel..' ' first things first girlfriend, we need to get Nick and the others into the spire of Wter" tigeress said as she let forth a flurry of fresh attacks, agumina left forth a green flame, the attacks combining to do extra damage.. Agunmmon remained in his Mega state flying around and providing cover for the others.

NIck Loaded his weapon with a spare clip as the sled was struck by an errant magical blast , punching a fresh hole in it ' we cant just stand here ' cynder said as she flew out of the hole.. sge soon joined the battle in the sky '' that dragoness looks a lot like you Cynder" spyro call.. ' interesting.. cynder said as she flew past him ' we'll introdyce ourselves once the fight is over.. the other spyro had stayed inside with Nick and Gill Grunt.

Kerzach emptied his gun, not hitting much of anything. He emptied dropped the magazine and reloaded, trying to imitate what he saw Dr. Zanasiu do.

Dr. Zanasiu and Zachary mowed down the rest of the thugs just as their ubercharge wore off.

"That's it!" Zachary said, slinging his rifle over his back.

Drobot and Lt. Martin had shot down two sleds each carrying fresh reinforcements.

Lt. Martin radioed Stripetail. "All enemies are either down or fleeing. Shall we return to the starship?"

Yes I'm his mate actually Cynder nodded ' the other dragoness gave her a look.Interesting " why dont we give each other a nickname so we dont get confused for each other ' I'll call you Skylands and you can call me warfang" Cynder shrugged ' fine Skylands it is, Pleased to meet you "warfang"' she said and the two cynders shook claws. nick stagered out of the reopulsor sled and saw the two cynders getting acquainted ' Cynder flew over to him, and gave him hug ' good to see you made it out ' Wheres Kerzach?"she asked.

Dr. Kerzach tossed his empty rifle aside. He rubbed his eyes as he saw two Cynders. "Thanks for saving us," he said. "I am Doctor Yuri Kerzach."

"We're leaving," the pilot of the shuttle said.

"You know what? Let's do the debriefing and intros back on the starship."

Two exoskeleton clad laborers hauled the ruined repulsorsled aboard the shuttlecraft.

"Everybody aboard?" the pilot asked as he began to close the shuttle's door:

The crew boarded the shuttles and one by one, they began to lift off and return to the starship.

The quartet of living planes wheeled around and headd back to the starship.

spyro and gill grunt climbed aboard the shuttle, followed by the other spyro and the two cynders, who were comparing the differences between the two worlds they lived in, as well as the differences between the spyros they knew. spyro hugged nick, and shook hands with kerzach ' Glad to see you guys made it out ok' he said.

Dr. Kerzach sighed as he returned the handshake. "So am I. The starship's a total loss but at least everyone's alive," he said over the hum of the shuttle engines.

"Well, does anyone need two cooks ó and one soldier?" He pointed to Nick as he said the last part.

We'll get the phoeniz back ' Nick said ' Not sure in what condition, exactly, but we'll get it back..' He was a lot more cheerful now that they had been rescued.

After a few minutes, the shuttles were safely inside the Spire of Winter.

Personnel from the medical bay were standing by and the injured soldiers were quickly placed onto stretchers and hustled to the medical bay. The dead soldiers were also hustled off to have their equipment removed and cleaned and their bodies to be cremated and scattered in the "Field of Heroes" graveyard.

Mr. Bigmouth exited and took off his anti-radiation suit. The bullets the had made it through the thick suit left superficial scratches and cuts on his scaly skin. Deimos followed. The armor he wore under his suit showed some signs of bullet impacts.

Captain Carson's armored suit was visibly marked with spell damage and bullet impacts. "Nice work everyone," she said.

"What's next?" Dr. Zanasiu asked.

"Clean up and have a meal and then we'll map the planet and meet the locals."

Renamon, Scorpion, Sheeva and Vertigo left the shuttles then . Vertigo got a few looks from the others, but thought nothing of them.

"Interesting technology you have, reminds me of the ruins back home." Vertigo mused.

One by one the omniderate came up to greet Nick and kerzach. dixie hugged both of them, while tiger and tigeess shook claws with both of them. ' good to see you Nick " stitch smirked ' hey guys, good to see all of you again.. thabnks for coming to rescue us..' Nick said, smiling wanly, he had magical dents in his armor and his gun was slightly pockmarked. ' right now all i what to do is rest and then chat with Stripretail.

this is vertigo' nick added as the others noticed her ' we freed her from chong's clutches and she has helped kerzach and me escape. ' vertigo was massive ' at least 20 feet tall, the only creatures taller than her were tarrax and sara in her largest form, she was at least 3 times taller than anyone else.
- vertigo, nice to meet you ' scooby said ' how did you get captured by Chong?' He asked politely.

"Ahem, remember the Battle of Surf Point?" Mr. Bigmouth said.

Deimos sighed. "Don't remind me."

Captain Carson looked around. "We can have greetings and strategy meetings over a meal. Please follow me to Winterville Tavern."

The captain called up an electric taxi and hopped in.

The living planes rolled up to the new arrivals. Major Lockie looked at Vertigo. At forty feet from landing gear to the top of his tail, the AC-130, Tarrax and Sara were the only beings larger than her.

"Greetings," he said. "I am Major Martin Lockie."

"2nd Lt. Gen Martin at your service," the F-16 said.

"Captain Aaron Fairchild. Pleased to make your acquaintance."

"Major Allison Douglas. I prefer to be referred to by my callsign ó Rainbow." The F-22 dipped her front end in a sort of salute.

Nick and the others climbed into the taxi. nick used the time to rest.
ratchet was going over the islands of skylands, aphelion runing a scan over each one in turn.. ; so far they had cataloged 127 islands and there were still more to go..
tigeress and agumina sat next to nick, nick using Tigeess as a pillow. ' poor guy, to be stuck in that ship with chong running things..' agumina said, and she created a blanket with her ring and put it on nick.. '
yeah he must have had a miserable time of it..' Tigeres agreed as they moved towards their destination..

Vertigo gave an elegant bow to those who greeted her, a content murring barely audible.

"The pleasure is all mine." Vertigo responded in her snake-like but feminine voice.

"Its all rather...humiliating to say the least. He lured me from my palace and wisked me away to another world, the one you call the Skylands. From there, he took me captive and left me to die. My servants must be wondering where I am now."

Jason and the others transmatted back to his tardis so he could start treating each of them for the various wounds they had taken during the fight. Along with Sara who want there for treatment as well, having had been treated by Jason before.
