I just read the last few chapters of Reality Flux, and I just thought I'd add it here. This story is awesome!

I don't recall the author's name, but there's one on FF.net titled "The Hunt for Ducky's Voice", and it was written in honor of the late Judith Barsi :cry.  Just reading about Ducky being abused by her father in this fanfic made me cry.  I'm glad that, from what we've seen of him, he's not an abusive father.  I like how the fanfic ended and the author's reasoning behind writing the fanfic.

With my long list here, it may seem like I love every LBT fanfiction in the world. It's true that I found some positive in all of them so far, but let's just say that some of them weren't related to the story. Other things like being composed well, or being very unique, or making me laugh, things like that. Just because I say I like a fanfiction, doesn't automatically mean that I like its story. Although, with all of the ones from my list here, I CAN say that one positive was the story itself. For more clarity, in order to be a favorite of mine, I have to like the story.

Anyway, there are two more I found that I thoroughly enjoy.
One is called "The Ancient Enemy." I have enjoyed reading it many times. On the other hand, it's been half a year since it was updated, and all there is is the first chapter. I assume some writers stop if they feel their work isn't popular. I'll have to send him one of my lengthy reviews in the hopes that it will continue.

I'm already planning on sending Bardock92 my review of his "Someone Like Me" LBT fanfiction which I assume he stopped because he hasn't put up a new chapter in four months. Maybe showing him how much I like that might encourage him to continue. After all, I have grown to be a large fan of Shilva the sharptooth.

Now the second LBT fanfiction I've grown fond of, is unique, even amongst unique, in my opinion. On the other hand... I really enjoy reading it! It is called Great Valley High. It is well written and keeps my interest. But to be honest, I'm not sure how many members here would like it as much as me... Let's just say, if you prefer the gang as dinosaurs, you might try elsewhere. That was not a downgrade, since I myself have no problem with it. I was just letting others here who haven't read it know that the gang, well, they are no longer dinosaurs, but are now all the same species. I didn't want to spoil anything, that is why I'm being mysterious and vague. Since it's new, it was on the front page under the LBT search, viewing most recently posted, at least as of today anyway.

Well, that's all I have for now. Still, more fanfictions are made, and many already made ones still have yet for me to read them. I'll update when I found more. Later!

I don't read that much fanfiction anymore, but the LBT section is probably one of the few sections that actually puts EFFORT into a story. Seriously, every other section is usually covered with the Mary Sue stories, same sex relationships, etc. These, on the other hand, look like a lot of thought was put into them.

Some stories include: A Sharptooth's Heart series, Out of the Shadows series, Battle of the Sacred Essences series, The Adventures of Littlefoot and Ali. (I think that's what it's called)

Again, I haven't read that much, but I'm proud to be a part of a fanbase that has bright individuals who put effort into what they do. Keep on rocking, guys.

Recently, I've been more into reading fan fiction than writing them; I'm sure I'll get back into writing them as soon as I get a new flash drive. But in the meantime...

My current favorite LBT fan fics are:

LBT: Twilight Valley
A Time Before Twilight
LBT: Sharptooth Valley
Quest for the Lost Souls
Crystal Blaze
LBT: Revenge (1 and 2)

There are a few more fics that I do like that I didn't add. With a late chapter add not too long ago, I really like Quest for the Lost Souls as a great "true-to-the-series" fanfic. Just a shame that the author doesn't seem to update it too regularly. Can't remember if I mentioned it already, but the Kingdom Heart 2/LBT crossover A Time Before Twilight is an excellent fic thats cleverly incorporated all the best parts of both series'. I especially liked the mention of King Triton and Grandpa Longneck sounding the same  :lol

I also really like Time Before Twilight because it does a great job at pulling you into the story. Since the chapters are pretty long, I print them off (one chapter per visit) from the library and bring them home with me to read. I only get an hour per Internet session.

It also does a great job at keeping people who have either never played Kingdom Hearts or never seen LBT informed on each series.

The Crystal Blaze series are really good too.

Supernatural action/adventure with a great plot and great descriptions.

Battle Of the Sacred Essences (Littlefoot1616) is quite good (I only read the first chapter and I'm already hooked!)

Is it just me or does it seem most of 100,000+ word stories are all PG-13? Land Before Time: The Mysterious World and Battle Of the Sacred Essences all seem feature post apocalyptic environments (particularly post-apoc London).  They're great stories but I have to wonder.

If you notice Serris, most of the stories in the LBT section are either rated K+ or higher. I think coz most of them include a certain amount of un-LBT-esque material be it violence, love interests or whatever else. I think it's mainly because most writers don't wanna get in trouble for unrating their fic and have someone complain about it. Also, as we all know, there are very few "true-to-the-series" stories posted up there. Most are crossovers or include subject matters you would not normally find in a LBT episode. So, with that freedom, authors normally exploit the U rating of the movies to add just about anything they want to.

That all aside, thanks for recommending my fanfic Serris ;) I'm actually pretty amazed that my first story is still getting a large number of hits despite ending nearly 3 years ago now! Last month, my traffic report stated I had 420+ hits for BOSE and nearly 150 visitors  I really do wonder what these people see in this story  I've noticed Twilight Valley is highly rated under the LBT fanfic branch too ;) It's a great read...I should favourite it once I get the chance to read it thru again ;)

If I remember correctly, the authors of those two fanfics both live in London (or somewhere nearby, not sure). I wonder if they shared ideas while writing these fanfics.

"Land Before Time: The Mysterious World" is written by Threehorn and "Battle of the Sacred Essences" is written by Littlefoot1616 aka Thunderblade.  Littlefoot1616 lives in London, and I believe Threehorn lives near Liverpool ;).

Erm...technically that info is not strictly true :smile I live NEAR London but if I was to mention my hometown I doubt anyone would have heard of it. At least if I say "London" most people can get a fix on where abouts in the country I am. As for Threehorn, since it's his own personal business I will not divulge his location but he doesn't live in Liverpool :lol That's too far north. Like 200 miles too far north!!  :DD

Truth be told, I wrote BOSE back in November 2003 and Threehorn got in touch with me via my fanfic. I didn't know him before that time but we've been friends ever since ;) I won't blow my own trumpet by saying that Threehorn's initial ideas came from me (coz I don't know if that is strictly true or not. You'd have to ask him personally) but I suppose it would seem that way seeing as my fanfic was posted up on FF.net before his.

The only reason why I used London as my reference point in BOSE is purely coz I know my way around it and it is a location many recognise. I was actually going to set it somewhere else. My initial thoughts were either somewhere in America or maybe even a fictional location but London was best suited for the plot I had in store. That and it was easy to mention recognised hotspots that most tourists knew or those who know about London landmarks despite never actually visiting England. Better the devil you know as they say ;)

Voyage Through Time (H.G. Wells) is another favorite.

It's basically Cold War + LBT. Trust me, it's a LOT better than it sounds.

-------------

I should elaborate on my opinion of Battle of the Sacred Essences:

Yes, I loved the SF post apoc setting but my main appeal was the interaction between the Human and the Gang of Five.

The fantasy elements were a nice touch too.

Time Gate LBT (Dunedain ranger of the north) - A dark post apoc LBT fic with several SF elements.

What I liked about this so much is the post apocalyptic setting and the SF, the plot is good, oh and the anthros! Of course one complaint is that you have no idea how the Gang of Five is going to fit in. Hell, you may be justified in thinking that this was an original story.
