I don't like insects, though. Those are my least favorite creatures.

I like most of his plays. Some, like Timon of Athens and most of his histories are rather... boring and in some cases, too long... but his core of work (Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, Macbeth, King Lear, Henry V, Julius Caesar, a Midsummer Nights Dream, Othello, the Twelfth Night) is VERY good.

If I remember correctly, you once said that you've played all four versions of the game series Civilization. What were your thoughts on that game?

My unfinished and canceled second fanfiction: Quest for the Mask of Life
My currently ongoing fanfiction series: LEGO Equestria Girls

I've played 2, 3, and 4. I think it is a great idea, but one that has to be executed well. From what I've read, the original Civilization was okay, but not that great. It was not until Civilization II that it got really good. Civilization III was a disappointment, IMHO. Civilization 4 is a masterpiece. The only complaint about that game is that it offers so much more in the expansions than in the original game, and that some of the expansions go off in odd directions (space, fantasy realms, etc.)

Overall, I enjoy the series, especially Civ 4; it has Leonard Nemoy as the narrator, has an excellent theme song (Baba Yetu, which is really the Catholic version of the Lord's Prayer sung in Swahili), excellent graphics, and is, on the whole, well balanced and fun.

Why did you disagree so much with my character Harly including a reference to his technologically developed homeland in your RP?  I don't want to raise the issue again, I just want to know why you let me have this on his profile and yet insist I surpress it heavily during the story.

Universes like World of Warcraft, Warhammer, and Rise of Legends have proven that magic and a degree of technology can exist in harmony, so I don't understand what makes it such an athenema to a "Free-Fantasy" RP.

(PS, since you bumped the topic I figured you wanted questions and this was the best one I could bring up.  Don't think that I'm still fuming over this minor incident months later  :smile)

Caustizer.

Mirumoto_Kenjiro: I only bump topics that I think are deserving of comments; you will notice that I've let more topics fall down than be revived. And that was a rude comment. I'm not looking for attention here. I am far from the first person on the GoF who has ever bumped a thread.

Caustizer: Your character can come FROM a certain setting, but when your character is interacting with others in a certain world, he/she doesn't exist in a vacuum. Introducing technology to a magical setting is like giving machine guns to knights in shining armor, it throws off the setting. If a character had access to a semiautomatic while the others used swords, he would be able to out-compete them.

As for Warcraft, Warhammer, and Rise of Legends... those settings are geared towards the lowest common denominator, looking for bland, broad appeal at the sacrifice of content. If anything, they prove that introducing technology to a magical setting waters it down. Imagine King Arthur pulling out a bazooka, or Hercules killing the Nemean Lion with a machine gun.

Because I have respect for you Noname I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, but bumping your question thread in order to get more people to ask you things, and then attacking them when they do is not smart nor polite.

...

On the topic of my question, if you want me to keep running with you in your RPs you should not put down my character developments just because you don't necessarily agree with them.

It is after all, a Free Form Fantasy RP.

Since it was not stated at the start that absolutely no technology was to be allowed, according to RP Participation Rule #1 as set by a moderator action9000 I have the right to develop my character however I choose, as different people can interpret "Fantasy" differently.

Caustizer.
