It would have also made beter sense, say about 10 years ago., when interest in LBt was higher. Say after LBT 5. Have Ali and Chomper as permanebnnt chaerracters create a bad guy that drives bioth Ali and Chomper into the Great Valley, and over the course of the series, the gang and the members of the great Valley have to beat the basd guy. The problem with this series was, there was no story development over the course of the episodes, it was one 'adventure ' to the next, without any real explabnation as to how Chomper and Rubyy got into the Valley nor how they had managed to persuade the residents tio letr them stay, nor any reason about why the bad guy (DarkClaw?) was there..The siongs were not memorable, and they paraded old characters from the older movies in an atempt to placate us older fans, but those characters were not the characters who had so intrigued us, particularkly (for ne at leadt ) Ali. She was a laughable imitation of the longneck girl that figured so prominently in LBT 4, and sparked hours of debate over whether or not she and Littlefoot were related, or whether they were an 'item'. And Rhette was a plot device, nothing more.. that episode was big downer for me..
