You got it mate! Kyu Sakamoto, best known for his song, dubbed by Americans as "Sukiyaki", actual song title "Ue o Muite Aruko". It sold over 13 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best selling singles of all time. He was also the first Asian to top the Billboard Hot 100 charts (top 100 music ranking in the U.S), doing so for 3 weeks in the year of 1963. He unfortunately perished in a plane crash during a Japan Airlines flight in 1985.
