Loved the latest two episodes. "Castle sweet Castle" does a good job portraying Twilight's grief over the loss of her former home, and the attempts her friends make to decorate the place to cheer her up so she can feel more better. And it's great to see our beloved princess "MoonButt" entering AppleBloom's dream to help her, completing the CMC dream cycle.

BTW, I know it's been a long time since "Somepony to Watch Over Me" premiered, but wouldn't it be awesome if someone made a PMV of the chimera sisters singing Itchy and Dil's "Who Needs You?" from LBT IV?

REVIEW POST!

This one I get in early! :)

Anyways, this wasn't too bad of an episode, but the constant dreams did get tiring by the end.  At first, I was a bit confused with the first dream, (In the sense of whether or not it was a dream.) but then crazy things happened and it was easy to tell this was nothing more than one of those never ending dream scenarios.

It also seems like Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo are also worried just as badly as Applebloom is with getting their cutie marks.  I hope it won't be too much longer before they get their cutie marks.  Otherwise, it's just going to get tiring in the end.

Finally, Princess Luna shows up in Applebloom's dream, completing the quest of visiting all three of them in their dreams.  I wonder if the connection will lead to anything big in the end.

Two things I will note is that we found out that Babs Seed got her cutie mark and that pancakes have now become a common thing in the pony universe. (Seriously, two episodes in a row with them?)

So overall, good episode, but could have been better.

Okay, so what's next?  Tank needs to hibernate for winter and Rainbow Dash tries to stop winter from coming.  Why do I already have a bad feeling about this episode?  Who knows, I could be wrong. :)

Well, I'll see ya all later! :wave

^I'm coming in later than I usually do. :oops

I pretty much knew right from the get-go that everything after that first wake-up was going to be just a dream, but I wasn't expecting an all-out inception sequence, though it was still entertaining. I also liked how Princess Luna literally has doors into other pony's dreams (I wonder how fans will make use of that concept). Overall, another good episode.

I really like the fourth episode a lot. Cutie marks are one central topic in my story so I am always a bit worried that perhaps the new cutie mark centered episodes might eliminate some premises for the stories I am working on, but luckily this was not the case.
While I see your point about the crusaders getting their cutie marks I think one should be very careful not to rush it... yes, I know after four complete seasons one could hardly think of any cutie marks appearing as "rushed". However, an episode in which they ultimately get their cutie marks could be both, really beautiful but it could also turn into quite a disappointment (no matter what there are bound to be many fans who will have different ideas from what they will get in the end). In any case the crusaders will have to be reinvented when they get their marks. Their lack of cutie marks is at the very least as defining to them as the cutie marks are to the characters who already got them.
I admit I was rather relieved when it was clear that the crusaders would not have their marks at the end of the episode. I wonder about the kind of talk Apple Bloom would have had to have with Fluttershy in case she had really turned out to be a "pestpony" (the term alone gave me quite some laughs) :p
During the episode I realized rather late that it was just a dream (only when the barn of Sweet Apple Acres was destroyed I was sure it was a dream (in spite of the fact that this barn is probably Ponyville's most frequently demolished building ;))). When during a later dream Pinkie Pie flew by suspended on balloons in a chicken costume I wondered for a moment if now, given the realism of this being very Pinky Pieish, the last waking up had perhaps been real :lol

I enjoyed the episode, though I guessed early on it was a dream.  Forgot when I first guessed it.  Nice to see Princess Luna appear also.   I think they should add a rule where if you get your cutie mark you can still be a CMC as long as you promise to help the others to get their cutie marks.    I do wonder if they'll get their cutie marks this season or not.   Or if they do if they'll be like their g3 versions.   I've not seen any g3 in a while, but at least some of the cmc's do have g3 versions, and their teacher too I think.

Wherever I look in half of cases I see either mentioning of MLP or pony fanart...  Such gets quite annoying with time, as it's something you don't want that's being simply pushed in your face. While bronies/cloppers give a bad name to the show, it's so overrated now that's it's like the best cartoon of all times which it's absolutely not!  All ponies look the same except for color scheme, manes & tattoos on their buttocks (it's like if you would watch The Smurfs where they all look the same too...  such a boring cartoon!), the flash animation is flat, lazy & unrealistic, the color palette of the show is too bright/colourful that it's acrid, yucky & harsh on the eyes unless you put on your sunglasses or lower the screen brightness/colorfulness.  Episodes are boring (I did watch & not one but like 5 to be sure in my opinion!) & they don't bring anything new since all has been seen in other cartoons. Really, the show is praised & being put above everything else for everything it's not.  If you want better & enjoyable cartoons, watch like Garfield & Friends, New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Ren & Stimpy, Rocko's Modern Life, Gumball, etc.

Well, guess ponies is just not a cartoon you might watch, not everyone can like the same thing. ;)

However, calling the animation flat, lazy and unrealistic is something that is just not true.

All of those stills from just one episode.

And just look at this background:

Especially adding light effects and shadows on a character that is moving a lot and also applying these same effects to the background takes a huge of effort to make it look good.

Of course there are movies (or even shows) that feature better animation. But for a show that airs only on saturdays and at a time where I still would be asleep if I'd live in the USA as fas as I know (xD) this animation is rather advanced, and it's improving steadily since the beginning.

In 2017 we'll get a movie that probably will hit theatres. I bet the animation we'll see in that one will be quite amazing, actually.

Ugh Dude, wish either you didn't post those huge pics or I didn't see them, lol!  X.X

Nice bg's but the 2nd pic just screams for the outlining to be there! Every object is colored monotonously which makes it look flat, simple, lazy, Simpsons- or FOP-like. And under "lazy animation" I meant character's movements.  Maybe "lazy" could be a wrong word but since this is in flash, all flash shows in movements look same flat & unrealistic... But aren't we, grownass men, with all seriousness discussing/debating over the show initially targeted for little girls?  xD

The characters from your avatar don't exactly look like anything to write home about either.

Also, need I bring up that we're "grownass" men who discuss a movie series aimed at young children? Pot, kettle, black.

Wish you could be more precise & full in your opinion since you decided to backfire, but if you're lazy about it, I don't think I need to say much here.

Correct, but for instance, LBT is something one won't be ashamed watching or talking about publicly.  Try telling at work or in the class that you're a brony / MLP / fan of colourful ponies & the whole audience would go like BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHAHAHAHA

You're funny. The hell are you even talking about that I'm being lazy?

And by the way, plenty of people I know know I like the show. This includes people who I've known from work and school. They've all been pretty cool with it. So yeah, you're wrong in that regard. You also still haven't proved me wrong why it's okay to debate and analyze a children's movie series about cartoon dinosaurs but not about ponies.

Pot, kettle, black.

While bronies/cloppers give a bad name to the show

Im sorry, bronies give the show a bad name how?  and PLEASE do not say "PORN!" because that tired argument is so over used even Pinkie Pony (one of the biggest anti bronies) calls BS on it.

Alright I don't think this guy's coming back. It was probably just someone trolling this topic. Let's move on to a different subject.

Has anyone heard of the Satyrs? The half-human, half-pony(or dragon, griffon, timberwolf, etc.) characters that are all over Derpibooru? What are your thoughts on them? I personally think most of them are pretty cute despite the...implications. I adore characters that are half breeds so I think it was obvious these little guys would appeal to me.

Time for my "What's Hot and New" post!

Well, this week, the fanbase had their fun with torturing Applebloom with Dreams that Should Remain Unseen.  I'll leave it at that.  Applebloom also got a plushie with interchangeable cutie marks.

Aside from that, Twilight is still rocking that manestyle from Castle Sweet Castle.  If she appears tomorrow, I'm sure her mane will be back to normal.

Anyways, here are the marathons leading up to tomorrow's episode

LIVE STREAM POST!

It's Rainbow Dash and weather shenanigans today!

Summary: Rainbow Dash finds out that Tank will have to hibernate for their first winter together.  She gets the idea to stop winter from coming so they can spend more time together.

I seriously have a bad feeling about this episode.  I can't help but feel I'm not going to like this one.

Here's the link for the streams.

Episode 5: Tanks for the Memories

I'll hopefully give my review later tonight.

See ya later! :wave

Well that was an interesting episode. I loved the references to Game of Thrones(Which I admit I've never seen, I just know that from the meme), Abbot and Costello's Who's on First, and the Grinch. The song was also pretty good too.

Even though Rainbow Dash is my favorite character, I think she was seriously being a bit ridiculous with this whole thing. Risking upsetting the balance of nature because you don't want your pet to sleep? Really? She acted as though Tank was going to die. He was only going to sleep for three or four months. It's not that bad. It was surprising to see Rainbow Dash break down into tears. It could have been a great scene but what killed it for me is that Rarity and Pinkie end up crying not for Rainbow Dash but because Fluttershy's crying! Rainbow's the one with the problem and they pretty much forget that she was even there. I guessed it was supposed to be a reference to the Bronies who only care about how Fluttershy's feeling and forget the other characters?

Before I end this, there's just one thing I noticed: at the beginning, RD tells Tank that this is going to be the first winter they've ever had together. She's had him for three seasons(show seasons) and this is their first winter? Time must move extremely slowly in Equestria.

I have to admit, there were quite a lot of funny moments in this episode (such as the confusion among a few pegasai due to each others' names, like Clear Sky and Open Sky). Also, according to a post I read on another site, this episode apparently showed Rainbow Dash going through all five stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. When I watched it a second time, I have to say that I found that to be a surprisingly accurate observation.
