Honestly, I thought this fanfic would be about Cera and Wendyk as husband and wife. The very thought of Cera and Chomper just about made my dinner come up

Usually, I would choose to say nothing on a subject like this, but I feel like I should throw in my two cents.

I'll admit it, I've read just about every LBT fanfic on fanfiction.net that had sex scenes (although some were so poorly written that I just couldn't go beyond the first chapter). In my honest opinion, the one that was mentioned here (and recently removed) actually came closer to being an actual story than nearly all the others (I wouldn't go as far as calling it a good story, but at least it was far better than the pure randomness of most others). Although it was a poor attempt, the author did try to limit the sex scenes (I think about a quarter or a third of the chapters had them, not bad for a first attempt in my opinion).

Now that I've finished reading your first fanfic, it seems to me that this idea is more like a deleted scene from that fanfic, so to speak. I think you could put it up on fanfiction.net, but not without a few precautions. You already said it would be rated 'M', but I think we both know that alone wouldn't be enough. My first suggestion would be to plainly state in the summary that there would be mature content in the fanfic. Also, (for what I would call a last line of defense, so to speak) you could mark the beginning and the end of that scene of mature content with notes in bold letters, so that a reader who wanted to skip that part would know exactly which part to skip. (the suggestion is based on a well-written fanfic I read not too long ago (not an LBT fanfic))

I'm actually interested in reading this. (I'm just one of those guys who wants to hear the complete story)

I believe that sex has it's own place in fanfiction, even in kid-related franchises like LBT. In fact, you can find such stories in stuff like Dora, Care Bears, even Barney has a few. However, if a story isn't well made, it hardly interests me.

When it comes to sex scenes I expect a level of maturity from the creator when handling such scenes. This not only means making the scene itself well-written, any immature writer can do that. This is a different level of professionalism that must be understood to the fullest. It's kind of hard to explain really. (Okay, it's not, but what I would say I choose not to reveal since this is a public board and children could be reading this.)

That being said, I would like to take a look at this story of yours, karkovice. If I end up liking it, and I feel it has maturity, I can reveal to you personally a few places you can post it if you wish me to. Just know, some of them expect the same level of maturity that I do with such a fanfiction. So don't take this offer lightly.

Since when has cross-species relationships stopped anybody? Ducky/Petrie and Cera/Littlefoot have always been the most popular pairings, and Ali/Littlefoot could be considered incestuous by some. I've always seen that as a bad reason to disapprove of a fan ship.

Funny you should say that, because I was thinking of writing a fanfic where Petrie and Ducky actually become mates. But I may have to put that on the back burner for a bit, as I have other fanfic ideas fresh in my mind.

And I think you're right. A story where Littlefoot and Allie become mates might be like incest. Aren't they like second or third cousins?

But you know what's even worse: Littlefoot and Rhett... (OOPS! Maybe I shouldn't've said THAT!)

Personally, I don't believe they are actually related. I think the term "cousins" was only used once, if memory serves right, and it might not have been used as an indication of family relationship, but perhaps species relationship, or an affectionate title (perhaps they are good friends that haven't seen each other in a long time). But other than that single utter of "cousins", I don't think there's been any real indication that Ali and Littlefoot are related.

And in LBT 4, did they not mention that longnecks of the Great Valley could join them? Perhaps they increase their numbers by asking strangers to join them. It could very well be that Ali's mother was not born into the herd; she joined, perhaps pregnant with Ali. Or perhaps Ali's mother became mates with a member of the herd that was new as well, not born into the herd.

That's just my guess, though.

I do have an opinion about this (as much as the next person, really)

I suppose its okay to have your little 'adult' stories. but let me advise it to you, you do not want to make them public in any way.

Not to cause a stomach ache of worry, but LBT is about kiddie sauropods. While such things do exists all across the net, adult themed fanfics based on a kiddie series is generally frowned upon and trolled constantly, the authors are usually looked upon as pedo types.

(most end up on that notorious troll hive known as Encyclopedia Dramatica. Something you want to avoid.. I'll admit, I go there for a good chuckle every now and then (. but that place can ruin lives!)

just a suggestion. keep such stories to yourself, or exchange them with those whom you'd trust and also those whom would share a liking of such stories

never post anything on the internet that can mark you for troll targeting... just take my word on it

Post regular fan fiction, but keep your private ones private.

This is just something I felt that needed to be said.

They may use the term for others of the same species since with the moving around some do who knows who may be potentially a cousin of yours.

As for the cousin bit, I consider it quite certain it was a reference to them being of the species. In any case I have heard the term being used on people who were not directly related. In the German translation the term used is "Verwandte" which literally means relatives but which in that case could also be interpreted as related by kind rather than blood.

As for the whole matter in general I see it, putting it mildly, with great suspicion <_<
It's no new discovery that almost everyone in the GOF will tell he or she would not want to look at any LBT porn but the moment anyone says it everyone is rushing there to see it.
The GOF however is a group open to all age groups and so it shall remain!
If any explicit material is being posted here the staff is going to remove it and take whatever other steps may be necessary in accordance with the rules of the board.
