Snow in the UK

These two photos was only taken about 30 minutes ago to this post. For real in March we have snow in the UK. Is this Climate change? Is this the signs that the Gulf stream is slowing down?

I find it amazing and worrying at the same time. Knowing that something is really up with the World weather.

Up here in the north of England I can still see remnanst of yesterday's fall, but nothing you can do anything with.

We got snow here in Germany too (and very large amounts of it in the south). Snow in March is not unheard of, but the strange part is that there is snow now while there was hardly a flake to be seen throughout the winter months.

Where I live, it can go a whole 5 years without snowing.

I love snow. I don't like to go out in it, but just looking out the window at the white world is somehow mesmerizing.

It could be global warming, but it may also be one of those random things also. Time will tell. I think the world's oceans are suppose to be warming up which is suppose to be interfering with the warm water current that is suppose to flow in the Atlantic and help to keep Europe warm. Though I'm no expert on the weather so may have some things wrong.

Snow seems to be very persistent this season up here in Vermont. Not to mention we've had freezing rain twice in the last month. At least today is a nice clear day for once.

EDIT: forgot to add in the word rain

Aww man! We never get snow here in Virginia :angry:! That's the only part I enjoyed about living in Michigan for a few years. I can't ski, sled or snowboard here, but at least I can go surfing

You live in Virginia? I know of one land before time fan living in your state or is it possible that you and her are the same and I was not aware of it?
I really hope to visit Virginia some day. There are so many historical sights in your state which I would like to see. In which town do you live?

. There is lots to see in Virginia. Many Civil War battlefields are scattered throughout the state, there are numerous caverns located in the Shenandoah Mountains(most famously, the Luray Caverns), Jamestown and Williamsburg provide much history on the origins of Virginia, Norfolk hosts the largest U.S. Naval base in the nation, and if you're into wildlife there's the Backbay National Park and the Great Dismal Swamp(both of which are not far from Virginia Beach). The best time to visit Virginia is during the summertime, so ya can visit the beaches and actually swim in comfortable temperatures

. It gets to roughly about 95 degrees here with 95% humidity in the summer months(yikes if you're not accustomed to heat). Virginia is a big state with much history, state parks and lovely scenery. If ya ever make it over here, plan to stay awhile, for it all can't be seen in under a week

A week would not nearly been sufficient to work down through the long list of places I would like to visit in your homestate.
Last year I applied for a three months internship as a historical interpreter in the Fredricksburg & Spotsylvania, and the Richmond national battlefield park. Unfortunately it didn't work out for this year. I still haven't given up on this thought though. I need to find an internship though where they offer board and lodging (or at least a little money to be able to take care of the "board" part myself). I really crave to see the many places I have read so much about.
