The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

"why thank you" said Rex as he grinned "I guess all this fighting has helped me get stronger.....and oh that feels good"

"alright guys, hurry it up" said Jake "time to go"

Exodar turned around and sighed to himself "yeah, okay". Exodar got up and he walked over to where Jake was.

"Alright" Selturma got up, reluctantly but surely, and grabbed her top. She didn't put it on yet, but was ready to any moment. "That was nice."

Toby uncurled and stretched, breathing a bit of flame before flying into the air.

Selturma quickly put it on. "Done. Ready? For real this time?"

"I am!" Toby told the rest, flying high above them, keeping a lookout for the party.

Rex picked his shirt up and put it on "ready"

"alright then..." said Jake "let's go!"

Jake and the rest of the group continued walking down the road. they had been walking for half an hour now since they left where they were resting. They still had a while to go but were still making excellent progress.

"anyway, we should be there soon..........i hope" said Rex

"well, at least we all know that we'll all sleep good tonight, heh heh" said Exodar with a smile

Meanwhile...

Adykon looked around, more than slightly nervous about the situation. "Alright. Herril, do you know exactly what Aerta told us to do? We have to get in somehow, and only she knows the answers we need."

As the group travelled they could hear a very distant attack going on. It was still a long way away but it was still bearly withing earshot for a dracon. "can you guys hear that?" asked Rex

"hear what?" asked both Exodar and Jake

"it sounds sort of like a fight?" replied Rex

"well, we can't he it so we'll have to take your word for it" said Jake "we must be getting close..."

Jake looked up at where Toby was flying

"Hey Toby, you see anything up ahead?!?" he asked

Toby could hear it better than the others could.

"We are still quite far away. I don't know what that noise was, but it sounded like an explosion. I wish I knew more!" The young dragon had to shout down from the sky to the others, but he could be heard well enough.

"well let's hurry so we don't miss any of the action!" said Exodar

"yeah, come on!" said Rex

Jake could see that the others were excited to see the fight so he said "well, let's run there then!".

Rex and Exodar began running towards where the noise was coming from.

"you coming Selturma and Toby?" asked Jake

Toby was already out in front, knowing the odds that they would actually arrive there in time were slim. Selturma, for her part, was struggling to keep up with the rest of them.

(OOC: Here is a pic of a Dracon female, for those who wonder what they look like)

As the group was running they could hear some people talking up ahead "who's that?" asked Exodar "is that the people you wanted to get to?"

"no..they're Demoras soldiers!" Said Rex as he drew his sword.

Jake did the same "just wait, we'll stay here..but if they spot us and attack we'll strike back"

The soldiers continued talking until they spotted something in the air "what's that?" asked the Dark green soldier.

"they spotted toby" said Exodar

"it's moving?" said the same green soldier "i don't think it's one of ours"

"yeah, and there's others with it" said the red dracon "attack!"

"If its a fight they want, they won't be disappointed!" Toby's eyes lit up as he spoke, diving from the sky, the pupils of his little eyes changing from black to red as he prepared to unleash a burst of flame.

Meanwhile...

Adykon looked around, more than slightly nervous about the situation. "Alright. Herril, do you know exactly what Aerta told us to do? We have to get in somehow, and only she knows the answers we need."
Herril looked back at Adykon. - "Please, we need to try and remain calm. I will tell you what she told me, she said that we need to get at least one person over to the palace, and then the rest of us, to create a distraction to help clear a path to escape." - The Psyonic took a breathe before continuing as he remembered the other part of Aerta's message. - "She also said that there are some doors inside the palace that are integrated with the force-field. Those can be opened by someone entering the right solution to a code. But she was unable to tell me what is the code, because of the big attack we felt some moments ago."

"So there is no way to get to know the code?. Now that is a reason to begin getting nervous." - Eriol commented as he crodssed his arms.

Kelassa looked at the other people. - "Maybe you can try and contact Aerta again? Maybe at the moment the plan is complete so she can have some moments to recover from the previous attack." - She said that as she placed her right arm in Herril's left shoulder, but she removed it with a shy attitude when the Psyonic looked at her.

Adykon had already lost one female he had loved to Dememoras. Vaeri had died suddenly and unexpectedly, just as Aerta's husband had. He didn't want Aerta to die too. Given what had happened to those who had opposed Dememoras before, there was an excellent chance of this happening.

"The path is clear, then. I have to go over to the palace, and try to get the doors open. As for the rest of you... well, we will need to make a distraction." Adykon knew what had to be done, but how to do it was another matter altogether. Despite what he said, the path was far from clear.

We'll have to draw the army's attention for at least a couple hours " Margas said ' Give their sheer numbers, unless we keep running, we won't even buy you a few seconds in face to face combat."
" with all due respect, Husband, tell us something we don't already know " Ilsa said , turning away and looking out over the surrounding.. it was quite scenic, if you discounted the fact there was a army of a couple of thousands soldiers ahead of them..
_ Is there any way Herril you can mentally keep her shield up and allow her a short time to rest?' Minna asked. " Not being a psionic, of course, so my question maybe very stupid..."

Herril looked back at Margas. - "Your question is not stupid, I can make the enemy forces think the shield is still up.. but their numbers are too great, I have never attempted to influence that many minds." - The psyonic said as he crossed his arms and closed his eyes... without the other knowing, he is trying to reach Aerta again, with no success so far.

Kelassa gave a sigh, and she then reacted with some animosity. - "Maybe if Herril can influece their Leader's minds? maybe that can buy us some time by creating confussion in their lines?"

Eriol was looking at Adykon, as he can understand what the Party's Leader feels: Losing someone you love is always hard... sometimes it is just too hard.

"It doesn't really matter how they are distracted, just make sure it works, and... wait. You can keep in touch with me mentally, can't you?" Adykon asked Herril a question he probably already knew the answer to, but he had to make sure.

"If you can, you can tell me how well the distraction is working, and how much time I have to get Aerta out of there." As a mercenary warrior, Adykon honestly didn't know how such magic worked, so it was all an educated guess on his part.

Herril looked at Adykon and nodded. - "Yes,  Ican mantain a mental link with you, I can even allow you to see through my eyes as I can see through yours... but requieres more energy and concentration, so a lesser link will work fine. I can let you know what is going on while you rescue the Lady."

Eriol gave a small smile - "Well, then it seems we have one step of the plan done, we have most of Aerta's instructions and Adykon will be able to know how the rest of us will do with the distraction."

Kelassa showeda worried look on her face. - "I am not a warrior and I havbe little experience fighting, but I would still have a close participation on this... I think I can even help heal you in the battlefield itself... that should prove useful, I think."

To that, Herril looked at her and smiled. - "Don't feel bad Kelassa, because your abilities can make the difference between life and death to anyone of us..." - and after he looked at Vespion. - "... and the most people with healing abilities the better for all of us." - Those words make Kelassa give a more confident smile.

The Gaean Panther said nothing, but he looked at those two Dracons and smiled again. - "So, any of you have any idea about the newcomer yet? or we will deal him or her after this crazy plan we are formulating?"

"I don't really think we have time to-" Adykon said, but he was cut off by the sudden approach of a large, winged dracon, who suddenly landed right next to the party!

It was not quite fair to say that he had come out of nowhere; indeed, Vespion had sensed a creature with a mixed nature. A being of light and darkness. What was unexpected was how suddenly this being emerged and how powerful this being appeared to be. His head was covered in seven horns, far more than the two that a normal dracon has, and his tail was clearly like that of a scorpion's!

It took a moment to register, but Adykon was the first to notice it. This creature, whoever he was, whatever he was, had the same basic appearance as Dememoras! No, this was not quite so. This being had red scales and claws on his hands and feet that were normal, and while it was clearly not normal, his wings looked somehow less threatening than those of Dememoras, or even than those of the Dragonblooded soldiers. His wings were less angular, more natural, and were somewhat smaller in relation to the rest of him.

"Who-who are you?!" Vespion was the first one to ask.

"My real name is of no concern right now, but you may call me Typhon. You have no idea how long I have waited to meet you, Adykon, and you, Vespion. It is rather fitting that you should be the first one to address me, cleric."

This "Typhon", if that even was his real name, made no attempt to attack or threaten the party. His appearance was no coincidence; he had been waiting for this moment for reasons all his own.

Kelassa looked at the newcomer, a winged Dracon with a deep voice and imposing presence, she felt overwhelmed by  this and she gave some steps back, trying to get some cover from Herril.

The male Dracon was very surprised - "Your presence is enormous, Typhon, and something tells me that I could not scan deep in your mind, so I will not bother you." - Herril still kept his vow of not intruding in anyone's minds without consent, even though there can be exceptions, like the minds of the enemy soldiers attacking Aerta's tower. Still, he is somewhat curious, but far more nervous of this winged Dracon.

Eriol looked at the imposing Dracon. - "Wow, I dont think that the Draconians that live in the lands I come from could be as imposing as you are, are you here as an ally, Typhon? We could use a hand." - Eriol has no way to know the intentions Typhon has, but if he was to attack the party, he would have done that already. And the sight of a winged Dracon did not surprise Eriol as much as it is surprising the others, specially since in his lands, there are a race of Gaeans physically similar to the Dracons, but they are all winged and flying-capable.
