As they walked around the Elephant Graveyard, and though she knew there was a job to do, Hali couldn't help glancing about at their surroundings.

"Wow, it's kinda both creepy and cool" she commented as she walked on with Ramiki.

"I just wish it was a little more cool and a little less creepy" Ramiki said softly. He walked closer to Hali. He had to admit having his best friend in the Outlands with him made Ramiki feel a lot better about this place.

"Yeah..." Hali agreed, not moving far from where Ramiki was either. "Well sooner we find these panther sooner we can take the news back to the Pridelands; now where would they have gone?" she looked about.

From high above a complete elephant skeleton, came their answer. "Not far at all..."

Before the cubs react, panthers immediately surround them on all sides, snarling viciously.

The panther that spoke lept down to the inside of the circle. "However, you won't be heading back to the Pridelands..."

Hali backed up closer to Ramiki, scared. She tried to not seem like it though, "Y-you better not think of trying anything" she said, trying to sound brave.

"Uhhhhh yeah don't even think about trying anything. I might be a cub but I'm still really , really tough." Ramiki said scared but standing his ground. He gets in front of Hali and doesn't move an inch. He was really, really, cared but hut he had to protect Hali.

The "lead" panther cocked an eyebrow, and a few of the others snickered. "You honestly think you had an inch of hope against us?" he hissed. "I killed rhinos with more courage than you two combined..."

"What shall we do with them?" one of the other panthers asked.

"They are of no use to us, and they'll warn the kingdom if we let them go. So...tear them apart!"

(OOC: Next post will have the brains of the panthers show up.)

Hali's ear went flat at the panthers order to his others. She felt like bolting for her life, but...not without Ramiki, that thought was the only thing that kept her rooted to her spot.

Kopa was worried now, as he ran towards Pride Rock. the sight of panthers could only mean trouble..

Several of the panthers crouched to strike...

"Hold!"

The panthers looked up towards a massive pile of bones, where a large dark figure stood above the group.

The lead panther bowed his head low. "You have come at last my liege."

The figure treads down the pile, now seen as a large black-furred lion with yellow eyes, which turn to the cubs with an unholy gaze. "Spies that the Pridelands could be able to send, Mantu?"

"Merely cubs of the pride deciding to take this time to venture far from home, my liege. They are too great a threat to let live."

"Not yet. They may be of use for us still..."

Matsu reached Pride Rock before Kopa and found some female lions taking shade under some trees. "Is the King within?" he asked after a deep breath.

Hali tried to say something, but found her voice unable to work as this newer, apparently more powerful, panther approached and at his words.

Also anything she said might just make things worse. She glanced over to Ramiki, trying to say don't worry, we'll get out of this.

Ramiki was scared out of his mind. But, he tried to remain as un scared as possible. He really had developed a somewhat crush on Hali and hated to be considered a wimp. If he was alone he for sure would have run back to the pride lands scared.

"I'm not afraid of you " Ramiki said trying to sound as confident as possible.

The black lion glared at the little cub. "If you're not afraid," he growled, "you soon will be... Take them! If they try to escape, kill them!"

Several of panthers moved forward behind the cubs and grabbed the scruffs of the necks with their jaws.

The lion gave an evil smirk. "Only fools have no fear in the face of death..."

Ramiki gulped loudly as he was picked up by the throat "Let the other cub go. It's me you guys want not her. Please, I'm the one who'd tell the others." Ramiki said wanting to save is best friend and to make sure she didn't get hurt.

"You are not one to barter, cub," the black lion replied. "Your only choices for your girlfriend is to be your fellow captive or we kill her...and you get to watch. What's it going to be?"

Ramiki looked over at Hali with a look of sorrow as if saying "I'm sorry Hali I tried my best to get you free" with his eyes. Of course he wasn't going to watch Hali die. Not now not without a fight. "Then we are both your captives. Don't worry we won't try to run away" Ramiki said sadly. He really wanted to save Hali from the same fate he had gotten himself into. All he could do is pray that the pridelanders would find out and they would all come to his rescue.

This was a huge horrible mess, Hali noted as they were carried off. She tried to smile back reassuringly to lessen some of the worry she knew Ramiki felt over just her being here too.

"Don't worry, you couldn't have made me leave you anyway" she told him, "and I'm sure someone will come after us..." she sounded both relieved and sad about this, since they would be pulling more of the pride into trouble just by having to be rescued.

(ooc: since I lost track of where she was in the first place...)

"Kopa...what's going on?", he hadn't found Simba, but Nala stepped forward towards where her son was, immediately worried by the worried look on his face.
