The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

Frustrated that none of the other fast biters were helping him detach the tiny sharptooth from his tail or the glider from his head, Screech let out an aggravated shrill. Whirling around in place, unable to see, he thrashed his neck and tail violently. Still both of the tenacious little dinosaurs held on.

Then, by chance, Screech swiped his tail into a small, but thick, withered tree trunk. Chomper struck the trunk with enough force that his jaws released their hold on Screech’s tail.

Now there was only the teal glider, who was still hammering Screech’s cranium with his hard snout and eclipsing his vision with the feathers on his wings. Screech shook his head until he was dizzy, but still the glider clung on.

Roaring with enraged exasperation, Screech lowered his head and blindly charged in a random direction like a crazed domehead. Inadvertantly, he rammed his head into the side of a limestone cliff. The unfortunate Guido took the brunt of the impact. Stunned, he went limp, slipping off of Screech’s head. He dropped to the ground, landing on his back at the base of the rock wall. “Sorry, Pangaea,” he croaked weakly.

Flapper continues hitting fast biters with his club, or his elbow or fists for those that get close enough to try to bite or claw him.

Grandpa Longneck continues to use his tail and his bulk to fight the fast biters as best as he could, despite the bites and scratches he was getting.

More fast biters leapt at Grandpa Longneck and lone stragglers, and many more others dragged their prey away, and slowly but surely, one by one, they were leaving and sheilding themselves from the rain. However, there were some fast biters still wanting to have a taste of some much more blood.

The female fastbiter backed off and was in a daze for a moment from the bite of Longtail. And she heard Screech's cry, she was conflicted on what to do. However she looked and realized that Screech was fine, minus some wounds and bruises, so she attacked Longtail again, this time, claws first and inserted them into his flesh, hoping to weaken him.
--------
Mr. Three Horn rammed against the boulder in back of him and some rocks dropped from under Chronicler and the others. Red Claw roared at him and wanted to tear everything to shreds.
------
Amy slid off Tria's back and Tria proclaimed, "No dear boy, you must'nt do that, you will be killed." She said this, not hearing Chronclier's outburst from earlier.

Amy looked around her, trying to take everything in. The fight, the scarlet blood splatter, the many thousands of fastbiters, and the shouting, yelling and such.

Wow, it would just be way too easy to develop Post traumatic stress disorder at this point. She thought to herself. She chuckled a bit at her own statement, in her attempt to find humor.
--------
Petrie's mother, not realizing Petrie was safe, leaves her brother to help Anna and the others fight the fastbiters off. She dive bombs at them and tried to distract them from the kids.

I'm sorry Pterano, you're going to have to wait. She thought as she pecked at the fastbiters.

Chronicler had made a lot of progress in removing the smaller rocks underneath the massive rock. By a happy coincidence, one long rock happened to be stuck underneath the massive rock in such a way that it seemed to hold it up like a support beam. He decided to save that rock for last so that he would, hopefully, be more safe as he removed the last few rocks.

As Chronicler removed a few more rocks, he noticed the massive rock shift a little bit, forcing him to quickly get out from underneath. Fortunately, the rock stayed in place. "This is getting really dangerous now," he said to himself.

Eventually, Chronicler decided he had removed enough of the smaller rocks. He then climbed out from underneath the massive rock and stood to the side as he grabbed onto the last supporting rock. "Okay, everyone, I'm holding onto the last rock. As soon as I remove it, it's very likely that this big rock will fall on its own, so you'll need to at least guide it towards Redclaw as it falls. And don't worry, I'll be able to get out of the way quickly enough."

Chronicler then looked towards Redclaw, waiting for the right moment. "Get ready!", he said to the ones near the rock. Once he felt Redclaw was in the right location, he tugged on the last rock, but it didn't move. He tugged the rock again, but it still didn't move. This time, he pulled the rock for as long as he could until it finally came loose. Just as he had prepared for, the massive rock began to fall on its own, so he quickly moved aside, shouting, "Woah woah woah woah! Guide it! Guide it!"

Ruby saw where Redclaw was and, with help from her friends, pushed the rock in the right direction to hit Redclaw.

As the massive rock fell passed him, Chronicler laughed and said, "Redclaw, meet Mongo," the latter referring to the massive rock.

The massive rock, Mongo, hit its target and slammed into Redclaw's leg. It didn't hit with enough force to break a bone, but it was enough to bring him down for the fight.

The rock named Mongo had managed to spook a couple of fastbiters, but there were still more who refused to quit without a meal.

"Damn!  Somethin's gotta give here soon!" Anna panted as she managed to knock a fastbiter down with her tail and throw another fastbiter into a third fastbiter.  Just then, another fastbiter jumped on her from behind.

"Hey!  Get off!" Anna barked.  She could not reach the fastbiter and tried to shake it off but to no avail.  Just as the fastbiter was about to bite down, a rock came from out of nowhere and pegged the fastbiter on the head, knocking it out cold.  Anna looked in the direction the rock had come from at the top of the cliff, and saw Ducky wave and smile at her.  Being reminded of the children made Anna feel the surge of energy she needed to keep fighting the fastbiters.

"Thanks, little one!" Anna called as she briefly smiled and waved before punching out a fastbiter.

"Heads up!" another voice barked from the cliff edge.  Anna looked up in time to see Cera knock over a pile of rocks.  She dodged them as best as she could while nearby fastbiters got pegged by the shower of rocks.  This cleared Anna of any fastbiters and allowed her to go help the others fight off fastbiters.

Flapper fought the best he could, despite the injuries he had.  Luckily he had another dino or 2 that wound up together so they fought together.

Elsewhere Mim and Grandpa Longneck were fighting together against the fast biters.   She used a bit of branch she had found to help in the fight, taking the idea from the long tailed flyer she had seen fighting with a bit of tree branch.

"We do more rocks?" Petrie asked, looking around  for a rock small enough for him to throw.

By the time Rob let it sink in what was happening to him, the transformation had already completed. The clothes on his body had disappeared completely, leaving nothing but fast biter skin. The tail felt entirely strange, and his hands and feet had now formed claws. "This isn't possible," he said to himself. "This can't be happening." Unfortunately, saying it over and over again was not helping at all. His body had somehow transformed into a fast biter, and it didn't look like he was changing back any time soon. The bite on Rob's arm hadn't healed completely as a scar remained, but somehow the pain had eased during the change. Rob slowly stood up, stumbling at first, as he looked in awe at his new body. "What the hell happened to me?"

Zaine watched as the massive rock fell and landed on Red Claw's leg, pinning him to the ground. Zaine yelled with joy. "Direct hit! That will keep him down and out of our way!" He turned to Littlefoot, but his joy faded as he saw the look on Littlefoot's face. Something had him shocked, and he didn't like it at all. "Littlefoot, what's wrong?"

Littlefoot couldn't explain what he was seeing, but he had watched Rob's transformation into his fast biter form. Oh no! Something terrible has happened to him! He heard Zaine speak to him and he looked at him. "I... I don't know what I'm looking at. Take a look for yourself."

Confused, Zaine looked in the direction that Littlefoot was mentioning, and the same shock struck him. "By the beyond," he spoke in fear, "what happened to Rob?"

"I don't know," Littlefoot replied. "I watched it with my own eyes. He's turned into a fast biter like Screech and Thud!"

"But that's not possible!" Zaine tried to deny. "There's no way something like that could have happened. It's just not possible!"

"I know," Littlefoot agreed, "but this is what I was worried about. Something bad happened to Rob, and the same thing could have happened to us if we went down there. We don't really know how to fight back."

"I know," Zaine admitted. "I'm so sorry about what I said to you. I didn't mean it, not one word. I was just so concerned about Rob that I didn't want to be standing around doing nothing while he was fighting."

"That makes two of us," Littlefoot replied. "Don't worry, I understand and forgive you. I just didn't want to see you or any of the others get hurt. I couldn't bear to live with that guilt if any of you got hurt and I couldn't do anything about it."

Claw was running as fast as he could, but the other fastbiter was still on his tail and Claw was slowly losing his strenght to keep running like that. Will this second fastbiter never give up? Then, Claw saw a line of trees and bushes appearing dozen or more yards before him. Maybe he will lose this other fastbiter there, Myrkin thoguht and sped up a bit, but so did the predator chasing him. After a few seconds Claw reached the line of trees and got through bushes, but then he saw a big void with river flowing at the bottom of it. He tried to come to a halt, but the other fastbiter bumped into him and they both fell into the canyon...

OOC: :oops Sorry for the wait everyone, but work has been one massive drain on my personal time. And tomorrow promises to showcase that in rare form. Now on with the show!

~~~
Longtail gave a startled cry of pain as he felt the female fastbiter dig her claws into his scales, and drew blood. In a moment of curiosity Longtail turned his head to see Screech had dislodged Guido, and Chomper and was safely standing on his own. At that moment, the entire world slowed to the young flyer as his eyes dilated, he took in a single breath of air, and forgetting that he was doing combat with the female fastbiter Longtail gave a loud, echoing roar as he pushed off the ground with his feet and using what little momentum he had, he dive-bombed Screech latching onto his snout with the talons on his feet and began clawing feverishly at Screech's face hoping to cause serious damage.
Rick comes to a stop next to Rob and looks confused and a little afraid as he sees what Rob has changed into. He leans his neck down and gently asks his friend, "Are you alright? H-how does this new change.... feel?"
Cyrix who'd watched the whole transformation with rapt attention and care, took the time to form an answer to Rob's question. "It would seem, that by whatever force brought you here... may have done something to your bodies that allow you to take on the form of whatever creature you touch... or touches you in turn. I'm not sure... but perhaps taking a moment to close your eyes and slowing down your heart from the change can help you form a better solution to your issue."
Grandma Longneck let out a sigh of relief when she saw that Redclaw was pinned under a rock and a few of the fastbiters had fled the scene. "This should make our job a great deal easier." she said aloud as she smacked another fastbiter with her tail and stepped on another ones head.
Screech had been about to snap up the dazed Guido when Longtail hit him. “What theó?!” he squawked. Not wishing to be rendered blind as Red Claw had, he clamped his eyelids tightly shut as he began shaking his head, attempting to dislodge the crazed flyer. But like Guido and Chomper before him, Longtail was clinging too tightly to remove using that method. Snarling, Screech gnashed his jaws, trying to bite his assailant, but despite his proximity to the fast biter’s teeth, Longtail’s body was out of reach of them.
Well, then, it worked for little Leafywings, let’s see if it works for you! Screech thought. Orienting himself in what he guessed was the direction of the stone wall he had slammed Guido against, Screech once again bowed his head and neck so that his snout was perpendicular to the ground, and charged forward.
"I saw him get bitten by a fast biter earlier, could that have..." Ali's voice trailed off, just as she heard a sound,as if someone else was climbing up, it soon turned out to be John,who had been overwhelmed by his opponents below and decided to make for the mountains.
 "You know, today was supposed to be my weekend off, but no...." John said sarcastically while panting.
Bron noticed Longtail latched on to Screech, so he decided to join them, hoping to intimidate Screech so he would just drop Pangaea and leave.
The female fastbiter was in a daze when those few seconds flew by, literally. She shook her head and saw that Screech was already charging toward the flyer. She shook her head and then heard a roar, a pitiful, angry roar that made a chill up her spine. She stood there, indecisive of what to do.
----------
The siamese colored flyer went on all fours and crawled toward the direction of Red Claw. She tried to speak in some growls that she tried to imitate, which made Red Claw sniff and take notice of her. He roared ferociously at her and demanded her to know why she came to torment him.
"WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT TO TAKE AWAY FROM ME? ARE YOU TRYING TO MAKE ME A LAME SHARPTOOTH AS WELL AS BLIND?!"
Amy leaned back taking in the roaring and the agonizing pain. She shook her head and looked the other way, feeling pity over the mighty creature. She tried to use some soft growling imitations to hopefully have some ease over the sharptooth. She kept coming closer and closer to the sharptooth.
The other fastbiters stopped in their tracks and halted their fighting. They retreated from getting the kids and from all of their slaughtering to watch in puzzlement of the scene taking place.
Rebecca and Mr. Three Horn stopped and stopped to stare too. Rebecca heard her son's voice and flew to him.
"Petrie!" She embraced him. "Thank goodness you are safe and sound!"
Mr. Three Horn smiled at the sweet scene of the two flyers, but then he saw the fallen orange colored flyer and tried to nudge him to waken him.
Longtail, even in his semi-crazed state and bloodlust had enough sense to remember who he was fighting and then he grinned boldly as he realized the move Screech was using as it too was one of Longtail's favorites. But this was personal and just as he was sure Screech had built up enough speed to cause serious bone trauma Longtail let go of Screech's face and lashed his tail out tripping the fast biting and laughing as he watched Screech slam face first into the stone rock. "You had better stay down and unconscious Screech... or you won't like what I do to you in the end!" said Longtail in sharptooth loud enough to be heard over the falling rain.
Upon hitting the rock wall, Screech was instantly knocked unconscious. His forelimbs went limp, and Pangaea dropped out of his grip. He was dazed, hyperventilating, and felt about ready to faint; his feathers were disheveled and wet from the rain; he was sore and bruised from being held so tightly for so long, and being repeatedly jabbed by sharp clawtips; his mind was frayed to the brink of trauma from the stress and terror he had been experiencing for the past few hours; and the percussion of his heart was comparable to an agitated hummingbird’s, but he was alive.
“Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you…” was all Pangaea could say.
"Me no understand.  If fastbiter bit me me no change to fastbiter." Petrie said, still not understanding.
---
Grandpa Longneck was to busy fighting fastbiters to have noticed the change.
Flapper and Mim thought they saw something odd, but were a bit to busy to fully think about what they saw.
Rob was taking everybody's opinions in at once, but it all was way too strange for him to fully comprehend. "I don't understand this any more than you guys do, but somehow Thud's bite turned me into a fast biter. I guess part of his DNA transferred into my blood, but how that happened is beyond me." At the same time, he noticed that the other sharpteeth were stopping the fight. Red Claw had been pinned to the ground by the boulder, which must have depleted their morale "Well, at least the fighting has somewhat stopped. We can use this to grab Pangaea and get out of here."
Littlefoot realized that Red Claw wasn't going anywhere, meaning they could finally join the others. "Ok guys, let's head down and regroup with the others!" He took the lead and rushed down the hill and ran up to Rob. He was terrified by what happened to Rob, but he still cared about him. "Rob, are you okay?"
Rob turned to Littlefoot. "Littlefoot, I..." He wasn't sure what to say. Part of him wanted to scold him for following them, but the rest of him felt relieved to see the longneck was safe. Of course, he knew whose idea it really was to come after them. "You helped us a lot up there. Thank you, Littlefoot. I guess I owe you one."
"Rob!" Zaine was right behind Littlefoot, showing equal concern for his friend. "Rob, I'm sorry about you becoming a fast biter. If there is a way to change you back, I will find it."
"Forget it," Rob shook his head. "However my body transformed, it doesn't look like it can do it in reverse. Whether I like it or not, I'm stuck in this body."
"But, why?" Zaine asked in despair. "Why did it happen?"
"I don't know," Rob replied. "I really don't know."
As more fastbiters began to retreat, Anna looked up to see if her friends were still on the cliff.  Her heart skipped when she saw they were missing, but she was snapped back into reality when she felt something blunt yet painful nonetheless jab at her left leg.
"Ow!  What was that for?!" Anna yelped as she took up a defensive stance.
"Is that any way to thank me for saving your tail?" a voice demanded.  Anna was relieved when she looked down and saw Cera and Ducky.
"Sorry, it's just I thought a fastbiter was tryin' to pull a sneaky one on me," Anna said.
"Speaking of your tail, is it okay?" Cera asked, reminding Anna of her injured tail.  She brought it around her right side and looked over the injury.  Even though it was raining, she could tell the bleeding had slowed down to almost nothing.
"Yeah, I think it'll be okay," Anna replied.
"I think so too, yep yep yep," Ducky spoke up.
"I hope so," Cera added.  Her comment made Anna smile.
"Thanks, guys.  You're a couple of sweethearts, as are the others," Anna said as she bent down, scooped Ducky up, and gently hugged her.
"Hey!  Don't get all mushy and call me those names," Cera snorted.  Anna gently reated her right hand on Cera's back after she set Ducky down.
"But, it's true.  I can see it, as can anybody else who looks for the good in others.  Besides, you'd be back in the valley, but instead you're out here looking out for me and the others.  Thanks again, and thanks for not listening to me about stayin' out of this one," Anna replied.
"You're welcome," Cera replied.
Cyrix turned to face both Zaine and Littlefoot and smiled. "Rob is right. I knew you two, especially you Zaine would want to keep the newcomers safe, and you did just that while keeping yourselves safe as well. You both should be proud to have shown such adult like thinking."
Rick was a bit more concerned.
"So you can't even change back into a human?! T... that doesn't sound good. What are we going to do?" he asked to no one in particular.
Longtail could see that Screech was out like a light, and smiled ruefully. He then stepped over to Pangaea, shaking his head to clear his thoughts before kneeling down to see Pangaea face to face. The young flyer then cleared his throat as he asked, "So, you're the one everyone tried to rescue. You look alot like Guido, but I like the colors you've got... a bit more bold." Longtail then leaned over and tried to help Pangaea stand upright.
"Come on now, the others are probably worried sick, we don't want to keep them waiting." he commented with a light smile.
Spike lumbered over to Anna and smiled glad to see she was alright. The spiketail then nudged a rock over to her and sat next to it, indicating she should rest.
