“Wow!” Pangaea exclaimed, “So those are the Thundering Falls! They’re incredible up close!”
Guido had taken Pangaea to the waterhole beneath the Thundering Falls. They were far enough away from the waterfall itself that their voices were not drowned out by its cascading roars, but even at that distance, it was one of the most impressive natural spectacles Pangaea had ever seen.
“The water’s nice, clear, and cold here,” Guido said, “Best watering hole in the valley, if you can stand the crowds.”
Pangaea looked around. Indeed, several other dinosaurs (none of which he recognized as either familiar LBT characters or transformed GOF members) were wading in the pool or lapping up water by its shores, but fewer than he would have expected.
“Not too many dinosaurs here right now,” he observed, “Maybe word’s gotten around about Screech and Thud getting into the valley last night, and everyone’s being cautious.”
Guido shuddered at Pangaea’s mention of the sharpteeth. “I’d rather not think about that,” he commented.
Pangaea shrugged. “Let’s drink, then,” he said, “My mouth’s too dry to talk any longer, anyway.”
He leaned down to take a mouthful of water, and paused, unsure for a moment of how exactly he was supposed to drink as a Microraptor. His conundrum was easily solved, however; he simply watched Guido drink, scooping his lower jaw through the water and raising his head up again slightly to swallow. Copying Guido’s drinking technique, Pangaea had soon quenched his thirst.

In the Mysterious Beyond, Screech woke, stood up, and stretched. He walked over to the threehorn carcass and set to work stripping the bones of the few remaining scraps of meat that still clung to them. As he ate, he noticed that Red Claw was already up.
“Mornin’, Red Claw,” Screech grunted through a mouthful of rib flesh, “What’re your plans for today?”
