The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

Amy replied, "That's funny, I have two friends named Anna. One of them is somewhat the same age as me. The other is a bit older then me." She shrugged.

Mr. Three Horn went to the longnecks and told them what happened.

"This young flyer tripped right in front of us. She was attacked by a sharp tooth. I'm surprised she's even still speaking, judging by how weak she looks."

Amy looked up at the longnecks and then she jumped off of Mr. Three Horn's back, staring up that huge dinosaurs above.

And I thought sky scrapers were huge!

She timidly waved to them and said, "Uh..I'm Amy..."

Living up impressively to the first part of his species’ name, Screech made a beeline for a deep, rocky ditch, wherefromóif his sharp sense of hearing had not failed himóRed Claw’s call had originated. Peering over the edge, he spotted a bruised and disheveled-looking Red Claw standing disoriented at the bottom of the ditch. “Red Claw!” he roared, “I’m here! Sorry I'm late; I got distracted by some weird-looking flyer. What happened?

--------------------------------------------------

As the human-turned-feathered glider coasted on the wind high above the ground, he surveyed the surrounding and underlying landscape, which he had previously been too terror-stricken to take any note of.

“Whoa...” he gasped. Never had he seen such spectacular scenery, even on the many nature shows he loved to watch. A verdant patchwork of lush forests and grassy fields carpeted the land for miles around, dotted here and there by waterholes, towering rock formations, and even a few distant volcanoes. Glancing across the horizon, he observed that the entire area was surrounded on all sides by massive rocky walls, and noted a huge waterfall at one end that fed the largest of the rivers that crisscrossed the low-lying land. It looked exactly like...

“The Great Valley!” he exclaimed, “Holy buckets, I really am in the Land Before Time world!” His mind raced at the implications. He might have a chance to actually meet the dinosaurs he had grown up watching on the television, and had recently rediscovered his fondness for. The prospect was thrilling, but, in keeping with his usual apprehensive mindset, he also worried.

“What if they don’t like me?” he thought nervously, “What will I even say to them if I do meet them? How do I explain the fact that I know all about them and their world? Should I hide it? Should I even tell them my name?” It was all so overwhelming.

He sighed. He figured he might as well think about it later, and enjoy the view and the feeling of his newfound flight for now.

"What human?" Petrie asked, curious.  "is it sharptooth?" he said getting afraid, cowering down a little and looking afraid and shivering.

Grandpa Longeck looked to see if anyone he knew was nearby.  He finished eating the bit of underwater green food and raised his head to look around the area where he could see if anyone around were ones he knew.

Drew smiled, as he said "It's alright, Im used to others not really trusting me. Name's Drew by the way, its very nice to meet you all". Getting to his feet, he asked "So, howd you all end up here anyway, did you fall through some portal that led to an alternative world".

Chomper looked at him confused, not knowing what he ment as he turned to Littlefoot "So, what happened littlefoot? Is someone hurt" he asked.

The next moment John crossed paths with Bron, "I didn't think I would be running into you again" he said, Bron didn't reply.

"Need you be ignoring me, its quite rude mind you"John explained, obviously annoyed.

"Sorry about that, how come you ran off last time" Bron asked.

"I had somewhere to be" John replied as he started to walk passed the massive sauropod,he thought at first it would be good to be able to meet the animated dinosaurs he saw in a film series when he was growing up but now it sort of took a turn for the worst.

"Likewise, it's always nice to meet a new face" Drew smiled.

"Yeah, Hi there" grinned Chomper, always ready to make new friends.

"Many new people arrive in valley?" Petrie asked, wondering if a herd had arrived in the valley recently.

--

Mim and Flapper went down to an area near the thundering falls to get a drink.  Mim waved to Grandpa Longneck, "Hello, how are things?" She asked.

"Oh, things are going fine. I heard that Bron has arrived in the Great Valley.  have you seen Littlefoot. I would like him to get the news. " He then noticed the flyer, "Hello, are you new here?" He asked.

Mim shook her head, "no, I've not seen him for a day or so.  He's likely playing around here somewhere." Mim said, leaving out unless he and his friends are outside the great valley having an adventure.

Flapper nodded, "Yes, I arrived in the dark time last night." He said, "I'm Flapper, nice to meet you." He said.

"Everyone calls me Grandpa Longneck.  I'm pleased to meet you." Grandpa Longneck said.

"Me also. " Flapper said smiling.

Chronicler and Ruby arrived near the Thundering Falls. They couldn't be seen yet because they were behind a bush. Ruby then began to walk into the clearing and asked Chronicle to follow her.

However, Chronicler hesitated. "I'm not sure about this," he said.

"Come on," said Ruby. "I already told you that you need to learn what it's like to have good friends."

Ruby grabbed Chronicler's hand and tried to lead him towards her friends, but he resisted and tried to say where he was. They continued to pull against each other until Chronicler suddenly slipped, causing both of them to fall through the bush into the open. Chronicler had landed on top of Ruby and their faces were very close to each other. Chronicler quickly got up and went back behind the bush, hoping nobody had seen him or what had just happened.

John stopped in his tracks and said: "Are there any other herds coming?"

Bron thought for a second.

"Well I did meet a herd on my way here and they said that they, too were heading here".

"Who was the leader" John asked

"That would be telling wouldn't it".

John wondered where he had heard that line before ...of course those rainbowfaces.

"Thomas" approached Bron...

"Wow! I wonder if it is coincidence that so many of these dinosaurs are named after the Greek words which we will one day designate them... or have named which are the translations of those words into English..." the human thought.

John leaned against a tree and every minute or so looked behind him to see if Shorty was trying to get the drop on him, after all Shorty had told him to "watch his back more often".

It was then he saw a human approching Bron,he stood up and approached him. "How do you do" John greeted kindly.

Though he was soaring on a comfortably even keel, his trajectory was not perfectly horizontal, and ever so slightly slanted downward. As he glided forward, he was coming ever closer to the ground; close enough to identify some of the massive creatures that roamed across the meadows beneath him.

His heart thumped with excitement as he recognized sauropods (“ëLongnecks’, I’ll have to remember to call them,” he thought); Triceratops (“ëThreehorns’”); hadrosaurs (“ëSwimmers’ or ëBigmouths’? I can never decide...”); even a few ankylosaurs and stegosaurs (“'Clubtails' and ëSpiketails’”). He also spotted numerous small winged shapes flapping over the treetops, which he automatically knew to be pterosaurs (“ëFlyers’”). He shuddered in exhilaration. Pterosaurs were intensely fascinating to him, and he hoped he would have the opportunity to see one close up.

Suddenly he noticed another flying creature ahead of him. This one was definitely not a pterosaur. As a matter of fact, it looked an awful lot like him, except that it was teal in color, and only about two thirds his size. If it was the same species as him, it was considerably younger. He couldn’t tell for sure, but the other glider looked rather familiar to him for some reason. Of more immediate concern was the fact that it was gliding right into his path!

Desperately he tried to steer, changing the angle of his wings and tail, but the wind was pushing him towards the other glider.

“Hey!” he yelled desperately, “Get out of the way!”

“Huh?” The other glider turned its head in his direction. But it only had time to utter a panicked yelp before the two collided in mid-air.

"I think you'll enjoy it here.  Do you plan on living here or only visiting?" Grandpa Longneck asked.

"I think I may live here.  It does look nice.  No sharpteeth, plenty of food and water." Flapper said.

"It certainly is a nice place to live indeed." Mim said agreeing.

"it is indeed.

"Maybe we go look for other friends?" Petrie asked looking at those with him.

"Don't worry, I'm okay," replied Ruby. She got up and faced Sam. "I just met another Fast-Runner named Chronicler. I was trying to introduce him to my friends, but he doesn't seem to like making friends because he never had any." She turned back to the bush that Chronicler was no doubt hiding behind, but then she realized something. She turned back to Sam and asked, "Do I know you? You don't look familiar to to me. Of course, if you were familiar to me, I would know who you are, so I guess that means I don't know who you are."

"Hi Ruby, I was wondering where you were" greeted Chomper, as he came up to her. He smiled, as he said "This is my new friend, his names Drew". He pointed at the human that walked up to them.

"Heh, hi there Ruby; its nice to meet you" greeted Drew, waving slightly.

The two feathered gliders crashed through layer after layer of foliage as they plunged down through the forest canopy. Fortunately for them, they were both very light, and their fall was cushionedóalbeit painfullyóby the leafy branches. Eventually they landed in a tangled heap on the forest floor, extremely dazed, but not seriously injured.

“Ow,” the teal glider croaked, “That’s gonna be a bruise.”

The red glider, lying facedown in a crumpled feathery pile, just groaned weakly. His teal counterpart, quicker to recover, stood up and began brushing off the leaves and twigs that had become entangled in his feathers. When he was finished, he turned to look at the larger creature.

“Hey, are you okay?” he asked. The ruffled red lump in front of him simply uttered another groan in response.

“Uh, here, lemme help you up.” Finding one of the red creature’s hands, the teal glider grabbed it, straining as he helped pull the bigger dinosaur to his feet. Upon doing so, he finally got a good look at him, and his jaw dropped in astonishment.

“I don’t believe it!” he exclaimed, “Another one like me! I–I–I mean, you’re a lot bigger than me, but you’re the same as me! Well, almost the same...I mean, you’re not 'me' exactly, but you’re like...like...another me! A different me! Like, there’s two of me, but one’s different...”

As the ecstatic teal glider chattered on, the larger creature gradually emerged from his trauma-induced stupor. (He wasn’t accustomed to such violent bodily collisions.) Black spots of lightheadedness still obscured his vision, but he recognized the smaller dinosaur’s distinctive speech, and as his optic lucidity returned to normal, he saw clearly for the first time an individual he had previously known only as a talking two-dimensional image.

“Guido?” he asked in surprise.
