The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

(And, please try not to cram a million things into one post, it makes it hard to keep up. I don't want people thinking my characters keep popping up from place to place because it is hard to keep track of where everyone is!)

(Woah...that was a lot of posts guys...try to slow down next time.:DD)

Longtail heard the roar and knew it was Red Claw, but he was rather hesistant to leave Rob and the other human alone. Longtail looked over to Zaine and asked, "What should we do?"

Rick stepped forward at that moment and knelt down to Longtail's level and said, "Well, I say we go help. And my name is Rick, just so you know Longtail."

Longtail looked up at Rick as if he were crazy and asked, "What could you humans...possibly do? You don't look that strong."

Rick smiled slyly, "We humans have some surprises you might like. After all I did create you didn't I?"

Longtail couldn't help but smile at the comment Rick had made and looked to Zaine and Rob. "Well then. Lets GO!" he said aloud as he flapped his wings and took to the sky.

Rick whistled.
"Longtail is faster than I thought he'd be." he whispered to himself.

~~~
Grandma Longneck was glad to see that help had arrived, she still couldn't believe she'd froze like that in the face of danger. She turned to see the children including Littlefoot were safe and she turned to Red Claw and raised her tail and whipped him in the belly with it even though she could see he was on the ground.
Thud charged at amy and slashed his claws out at her.
Sam who was just about there heard the action unfolding.
Anna hooted at the sight of Grandma Longneck whipping a knocked down Redclaw with her tail.  Still, she knew Redclaw would not give up easily.  Anna continued to look around for more weapons of opportunity.  She knew how to fight, but did not want to get too close to Redclaw.
"Cera, no!" she heard Ducky's voice cry out.
Anna whipped around to see Cera as she began to charge at Redclaw.
"Cera!  Stop!" Anna ordered as she attempted to block Cera's path of travel.  Cera, however, was faster.  She zipped around Anna effortlessly.
"Stay out of my way!" Cera growled as she kept on moving.
"Oh, hell!  That hot head's gonna get herself killed!" Anna grumbled as she took off after Cera.  Cera was closing in on Redclaw's scarred eye.
"Take this, you dumb old sharptooth!" Cera snorted.  Suddenly, Redclaw jerked his head so his snout was in Cera's path instead of his eye.  This caught Cera by surprise, knowing she was about to make an error.
"Ahhhhh!" she screamed just before she smashed into Redclaw's snout, then went flying back several feet.  Anna had been running behind Cera, and out of a reflex, extended her arms in front of her and caught the little threehorn.  Cera almost knocked Anna down, and she did not move.
"Cera!  Are ya okay?!" Anna called out as she gently rocked Cera.  "Cera!  Answer me!"  No response.
"Aw, s***!" Anna gasped at the sight of Cera.  Anna was horrifed and in a predicament.  Should she further attack Redclaw, or should she tend to Cera?  She then realized Grandma Longneck would be okay for the time being, considering Redclaw was still on the ground and under attack.  Anna changed her course of direction, and ran while carrying an unconscious Cera over to where Ducky was.  Ducky was pale at the thought of Cera.
"Is she okay, Anna?" Ducky asked, almost too afraid to ask.
"We'll see," Anna panted as she gently set Cera on the ground like a feather.  Cera was considerably heavier than Ducky, and Anna could feel the difference even after she set Cera down.  Anna felt Cera's spine for any injuries, and when she found none, she rolled the threehorn onto her back.
"Cera!  Can ya hear me?!" Anna called out just before she checked Cera for respirations and a pulse.  She got a positive on both.
"I think she'll be okay," said Anna as she felt Cera for any fractures.
"I hope so, yep yep yep.  What are you doing, Anna?" asked Ducky.
"Checking her for any serious injuries," Anna replied.  Ducky watched as Anna checked Cera's pupils for any abnormalities.
"No sign of brain damage.  That's all I can do for now.  She seems okay, but we'll know for sure when she wakes up," Anna said before she slowly and gently rolled Cera onto her right side.  She then noticed Ducky was beginning to cry.
"Hey, I said she'll be okay, little one," Anna whispered compassionately as she rested her right hand on Ducky's back.
"I know, I know, but I was so scared.  I thought she was gone, yep yep yep," Ducky sniffled.
"She means a lot to ya, does she?" Anna asked.
"Oh, yes she does.  She is much nicer than she may appear to be, yep yep yep," Ducky sniffled again.
"Well, she means a lot to me too, as well as the rest of y'all.  But don't worry, Ducky.  I won't let anything happen to her.  She'll be okay after all this," Anna said just before she looked back at Cera.  Anna let go of Ducky, and gently placed her hand on Cera's shoulder.
Please, God.  Let Cera be okay, Anna prayed in her head as she remained vigilant with Cera.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
John  ran into the meadows,there he saw Red Claw was attacking Grandma Longneck , Littlefoot and Ali. John slowly approached the field of battle, handmade spear in hand, he noticed that Ali had spotted him because she was looking right at him, John cloed his eyes and summed up any courage he had.....
Zaine heard the roar as well and immediately knew who it was. Rob also looked up and recognized the roar. "Red Claw," they both said in unison. Zaine looked at him.
"I guess you know him too?"
"Unfortunately yes," Rob replied. "He's not as bad as the original Sharptooth, but he's no pushover."
"No joke." When Longtail asked him what they should do he thought. "There's only one reason why Red Claw would be in the valley. He's after my friends."
"Maybe some of my friends are here as well," Rob added.
"If so Red Claw wouldn't miss this chance for a new meal," Zaine concluded. When Longtail flapped his wings and took off, heading towards the source of the roar, Zaine nodded. "Yeah let's go!" He started running off, following Longtail.
"Wait up!" Rob called, but then he noticed Rick was also there. Rob figured maybe this would be a good time to get some answers. Rob caught up with Rick as they ran. "You know I always wanted to meet you in person, but this is a little ridiculous don't you think?"
Little Foot lead Ali away from the adults and he went next to Cera and Ducky.
"Guys are you okay?"
-------------------------
Red Claw moaned at the pain of the tail whipped in his direction, he knew that if he fought anymore, he would be dead for sure. What was he thinking? Trying to fight them blind? So he slowly got himself up, with the moonlight making an aura around him, he roared for Screech and Thud to stop fighting, and using his other sense, he went away, and he made a sad, remorseful sound, a sound you would not expect a sharp tooth, let alone one like Red Claw make.
------------------------
Amy used her palm to do a martial art move on Thud. Her hand went under his chin and she grabbed a hold of his muzzle and swong him away, away from her, down the hill from where she was. She then climbed up, trying to see if she could hear the sound. She heard a cry, a cray so sad, it made her heart break and so guilty.
-------------------------
Rebecca saw the retreat of Red Claw and made sure he went away. She saw him walk away from the cave and saw on the sides of his face that someone scratched him. He was blind.
She shook her head and sighed in pity, but then she turned away and walked toward Grandma Longneck, "Are you alright? Red Claw could have killed you in an instant!"
Thud hit the ground hard and growled. He was not going to let a mere flyer get the best of him. He looked at amy he slowly began to advance again approaching from behind her.
Sam had finally reached where amy was he saw that thud was comming up from behind her.
Just then, Tria came up from behind and rammed Thud, catching him off-guard! She had finally gotten her courage up!
"Are you alright?" She asked, Sam out of breathe.
Anna looked up at the two young longnecks.
"Yeah, we're okay.  I think Cera's okay, too," she replied.  As soon as she finished, she looked down in time to see Cera start moving slowly.  Ducky, who had been standing next to Cera's head, squealed in joy.
"Cera!  You are okay, yep yep yep!" Ducky cried out as she rested her left hand on Cera's right front paw.
"Of course I'm okay!  Never felt better!  Now, can I get back to kicking Redclaw's tail?!" Cera snorted.  She started to jump up, only to be stopped by Anna.
"Not so fast there, turbo.  First of all, Redclaw has retreated.  Secondly, you're in no shape to be fighting," Anna replied.
"Who says?!" demanded Cera.
"I say!  Besides, look at yourself.  Ya can't even stand up 'cuz you're so dizzy.  For now, I need ya to stay put while I finish making sure you're okay," said Anna.  Cera raised an eyebrow.
"Okay, then.  What do you need to know?" Cera asked in a softer fashion that time.
"Do ya feel any pain or discomfort?" asked Anna.
"Just a headache, why?" replied Cera.
"She is making sure you are not hurt, yep yep yep," replied Ducky.
"Exactly.  Can ya wiggle your toes for me?" Anna asked.  Cera did as told.  Anna found a sharp rock nearby, and picked it up.  She then set Cera up in a sitting position and instructed her to face the bottoms of her paws up.
"Can ya feel anything?" Anna asked as she carefully dragged the sharp rock across the bottom of Cera's right front paw.  Cera nodded in response.  She ended up giving Anna the same response all four times.
"Well, it seems you're one lucky S-O-B," said Anna as she gently patted Cera on the back.
"A lucky what?" asked Cera.
"Oh!  I'm sorry.  One lucky threehorn," Anna corrected herself with a smile.  Cera smiled back.
"And you're one crazy rockhead, you know that?  I thought you'd get yourself killed," Cera replied.
"Yeah, I know I'm crazy, but in a good way.  I can't imagine what would've happened to Grandma Longneck had nobody helped her.  Are ya still dizzy, Cera?" asked Anna.
"A little, but I think I'll try to stand now," replied Cera.  However, despite her efforts, she could not bring herself to stand up.
"Need help?" asked Anna.
"Uh...yes, please," said Cera.  Anna reached down, took hold of Cera's torso, and helped her up on all fours.
"Thanks," said Cera as she smiled up at Anna.
"You're far more than welcome," Anna replied with a smile.  "Oh, and about how I spoke to ya earlier.  I'm very sorry if your feelings got hurt.  I can have a mean side at times, especially when there's an emergency and someone's not following orders."
"It's okay, Anna.  I know this sounds weird coming from me, but I realize it was my fault.  I let my pride get the best of me, even though I knew I had no place in that fight.  I just hate weakness," Cera said just before she glanced toward the ground.  "I'm sorry."
"You're okay, Cera, and that's all that matters.  Can we still be friends?" Anna asked.  She was worried Cera would reject her friendship.
"Anna, you saved my tail.  How could I not be your friend after all you've done for me?" Cera replied.
"So...I take that as a yes?" Anna asked.  Cera nodded with a smile.
"Thanks," Anna replied with a smile.  Cera then made her way over to Littlefoot.  Her legs were still shaky but not as bad as before.
"Yeah, I think I'm okay," Cera said as she smiled up at Littlefoot.  "How about yourself?"
Pangaea soared just over the treeline of the forest, propelled forward by the nighttime wind. Below him, Screech dashed madly over the forest floor, demonstrating impeccable nimbleness even in the dark, avoiding every log, bush, and tree trunk in his path, hardly ever taking his eyes off the red glider above him.
Pangaea was genuinely impressed by the fast biter’s determination. Of course, that was exactly what worried him. Even in his much larger human form (which he didn’t even know how to shift into, and frankly didn’t want to, not least because he expected it would be more of a hindrance than a help), Pangaea knew that he would be no match for Screech in single combat. The raptor would tear him apart in an instant. His only option was to run (or, preferably, glide) until he could find someone who was capable of taking on a fast biter in a fight they could win.
It was obvious that members of Screech’s species weren’t called “fast biters” for nothing. Even on the ground, Screech was quickly catching up to Pangaea. Clearly the wind wasn’t fast enough to keep the glider ahead. Pangaea thought about flapping his wings to give himself extra propulsion, but feared that doing so might upset his aerodynamic stability. In any case, he was dubious that his Microraptor body was even built for powered flying. Sighing nervously, he wondered if this would be his final flight.
Suddenly a deep, distant roar rang out across the valley. Pangaea's blood instantly ran cold. He had heard that cry many times before, while watching episodes of The Land Before Time on his computer, but listening to it through a pair of headphones in his home was nothing like hearing it for real. (A moment later he would hear another roaróa low, melancholy soundóthat he was NOT familiar with, and chilled him even further.)
"Uh...hey, Screech!" he called down to the fast biter, "Ain't that your boss? I think he's calling you!"
Screech just snarled and gnashed his teeth at Pangaea. While he had indeed heard Red Claw's call to retreat, he paid it no heed. He had his own agenda now, and that was evening the score with the bizarre-looking gliding creature that had already escaped him twice and humiliated him once. Noting Screech's indifference, Pangaea sighed. Clearly he wasn't getting rid of the fast biter that easily.
“You know, Screech,” he called, “as weird as this sounds, I’m sorry I had to pull that Three Stooges stunt on you! I hope I didn’t do your eyes any permanent damage! Really!”
Screech only roared at him.
“I can’t tell if that was an indication that you don’t understand me, or don’t believe me, but in case it’s the latter, I only did it in defense of my friends! I don’t have anything against you guys being carnivores, but I do have a problem with you trying to eat dinosaurs I consider friends! Seriously, there’s enough food in the Mysterious Beyond for all the other sharpteeth; why do you have to come here to hunt?!”
Pangaea had a habit of talking to things he knew wouldn’t answer him. He wasn’t sure why he was doing it now, to a creature that, while sentient, could and would kill him in an instant if given the opportunity, and could probably not be reasoned with.
As if to prove him right, Screech leaped into the air, jaws agape and claws extended, missing Pangaea by a few feet.
“I seriously doubt that was an attempt at a forgiving hug,” Pangaea cracked. He smirked despite himself. If he was going to die, he would go down demonstrating his propensity as a wiseguy.
John saw Red Claw's retreat, a dumbfounded expression clouded his face.
 "Coward" he mumbled, he turned and began to walk back to the cave where he would be staying at for awhile before a thought entered his mind - but what about Screech and Thud!
"Sounds like a fight or something going on over that way." Flapper said looking in a few directions of where he heard a roar from.
"You think?" Grandpa Longneck said, stretching up to see if he could see that far to see if he could see anything.
Amy looked down from where she perched and saw Thud looking up at her. She also saw Tria, amazed she would save HER life. Then she saw Sam and realized it was not her she was saving. So she stayed where she was, waiting for Thud to make some move to come at her. Her hackles raised, she snarled, and challenged him to come get her.
-------------------
Red Claw tried to call again, roaring loudly and soberly to Thud and Screech.
"THE BATTLE IS OVER! I AM DONE! JUST TAKE WHATEVER YOU CAN AND GET OUT!"
--------------------
Little Foot went over to his grandmother and said, "GRANDMA! Are you okay?"
------------------
Mr. Three Horn went over to his daughter, pushing Anna out of the way, not meaning to be rude, but worried, "Cera! You could have been killed! Where's your mother and your little sister?"
"Nice to meet you, Claw, nice to meet you it is," said Ruby. "I'm Ruby. I think the least we should do is make sure he doesn't get hurt. That would be a bad thing to have happen, a bad thing that would be." She then began to run after Chronicler.
Chronicler continued running across the valley. He wasn't well-trained in many things, but he could identify the difference between the roars of a Sharptooth and a Fast-Biter. He decided to pick the easier fight with a Fast-Biter, and went in the direction he heard the roar of a Fast-Biter. As he got closer, he noticed from the roars he heard that there were actually two Fast-Biters. Screech and Thud, perhaps? thought Chronicler. Whatever was going to happen, he knew he would have to rely on moves he had seen in movies and TV shows.
As Pangaea glided over the forest, Screech pursuing him from the ground, he continued to try to distract himself from the fear he was experiencing by jocularly attempting to reason with the fast biter.
“C’mon Screech! Why the hard feelings? We’re both dromaeosaurs here, aren’t we?”
Screech leaped into the air and snapped at him again.
“Well, I suppose dinosaur classification schematics are a foreign concept to you; no point in explaining it. But really, I’m a sort of fast biter myself. Granted, I’m a very small one, and I’ve got feathers, but still, would you really eat your own distant relative?”
Screech leaped into the air and snapped at him again.
“I’ll take that as a yes.”
Suddenly, Pangaea heard a familiar squawky voice, high-pitched with agitation, shout out his name urgently from behind him. Startled, he twisted his neck around to see a feathered teal shape riding the same wind current as him at a higher elevation several feet aft of him.
“Guido! What are you doing?! You were supposed to go with Amy! I was giving you a chance to escape!”
“Oh no you don’t!” Guido proclaimed adamantly, “I’m not letting you out of my sight! Besides, you remember what happened the first time you tried gliding!”
“But you left Amy all alone!”
“Well, last I checked, he wasn’t chasing her!” Guido retorted, looking down at Screech, who was completely ignoring the newly arrived second glider, his murderous gaze still fixed on Pangaea.
Pangaea sighed. The smaller glider was loyal; he gave him that. Plus, he was right; if Pangaea got into another gliding accident with Screech chasing him, he wouldn’t get off with just a few bruises and a headache this time.
“All right then; you know more about gliding than me: how am I doing so far?”
“Umm...pretty good...pretty good...WATCH OUT FOR THAT TREE!”
“Whoa!” Pangaea pulled his legs and tail forward, braking before the oncoming tree trunk. He uttered a low “Oof!” as he hit the side of the tree, but quickly recovered, climbing as fast as he could to the top branch before leaping again into the wind.
(OOC: Just one more post after this and I'll be ready to participate in Chronicler's part of the plan...)
John dashed through the valley, spear in hand but soon stopped in his tracks.
John looked across the field and saw Thud and he had Amy and Tria in his sights, "I guess things are about to get ugly" he muttered.
"Stay away from her,' sam yelled at thud. Thud turned to see sam  ignoring belmont "if I can not take her then I will take you,' thud shouted in sharptooth. Thud charged at sam sam punched thud in the face. Thud yelled out in pain as the blow fell. Thud used one hand to distract sam while he slahsed at sam with the other. The razor sharp claws sliced into sam's facegoing right past his eye and stopping at his nose. As sam was recovering thud knocked him to the ground and pinned him down pushing sam's wound into the dirt. He put sam's neck in his mouth. "Now you will die and redclaw screech and myself will feast on you corpse,' thud said. "Uh now would be a very good time for the cavalry to show up,' sam thought to himself
