The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

Screech froze when he heard Red Claw call out to him. For a moment he hesitated, considering his options. He had still not succeeded in waking Thud, but figured that Red Claw would be even angrier with him if he ignored his call a second time. Abandoning his unconscious comrade for the time being, Screech ran out of the Hidden Canyon in the direction of Red Claw’s voice. It wasn’t long before his keen fast biter night vision sighted the huge sharptooth ahead of him.

I’m here, Red Claw,” he said, “Thud’s in the canyon with the bad-smelling fruit trees. He’s unconscious.” Fearing the worst of the notorious hunter’s temper, he quickly added, “Now, Red Claw, before you punish us for our failure, may I remind you that you CAN’T kill us. You know we are your only allies.

Red Claw growled back, "Do you really believe I would kill you now? Or even punish you? Especially right after what happened? No. Now, I'll try to wake Thud Dud." He snorted in frustration as he said his last word in his sentence. He tried to feel where Thud was with his tail, he sniffed around and eventually found him. Now that he was blind the scent of the fruit was as strong as ever.

Phew! I almost forgot how bad this smell was!

He dragged the unconsious creature out of the canyon with his mouth, but was surprisingly careful not to insert his teeth in Thud's tail. Then he had a snark expression on his face. He bit Thud's tail hard, hoping to shock him into waking up.

Rebecca went up to Amy and asked, "Would you like to sleep in my cliff home for the night? Right after you cleanse your wounds of course, you could rest up in the cliff home." She smiled kindly.

Amy smiled back and asked, "Is your cliff home steep to go up?" Rebecca was puzzled at Amy's statement so she said, "Well..it's high for four footers, but not for us flyers." She smiled back.

Great...a steep cliff to climb...

Amy figured she would just say the truth and be humiliated instead of making up some story, so she said, "That's kind of you, but actually don't know how to fly.

Thud roared in pain and turnedto see redclaw and screech. 'I almost had that little flyer if not for that blasted rainbow face I would have had her,' thud said.

"Not at all, Chomper." Claw answered, smiling at Chomper. He tried to make a good first impression on the dinosaur, who would (potentially) teach him all the things that sharptooth should know. In addition, he wanted to befriend Chomper, as he was one of his favourite characters, but that couldn't be very hard. After all, little dinosaurs from the Valley seemed to easily become friends with everyone, who didn't act like a total jerk.

Then his stomach reminded him, that he was a bit hungry, to say the least. Honestly, it insisted so strongly that he should eat something, that its rumbling could be heard by others present.

"Uhm... Sorry about that, but it looks like I am hungry." he said "Don't you have any hated acquaintances you wouldn't miss, if they had disappeared?" he asked, trying to be funny.

John twisted and turned in his sleep, in his dream he was in a wasteland much like the enviroment for the original Land Before Time,except way more barren and lifeless. All that remained was this gaunt quiet, then John  saw the Great Valley looking as lush and fertile as it usually was and with all its inhabitants just before it and the land around it went up in flames, he then heard something growl behind him,he turned and saw the something closing in on him.

 "NO!"  John yelled furiously before he quickly awoke, very disturbed.

"It was just a dream, a nightmare" he said out loud before lying back down and falling back to sleep, this time, fitfully.

Grandpa Longneck finished with the licking, going slower then he could have since he wanted to be sure he got all the wounds and thoroughly licked each.   Once he was satisfied he took a step back, looking at Grandma Longneck.  "How is that, is that better?" he asked her with concern in his voice.

Grandma Longneck smiled warmly at Grandpa Longneck as she said. "Much better thank you dear. Now perhaps we can return to our nest to sleep for the night." She looked down to Littlefoot and nudged him gently. "If you're tired you can sleep on my back Littlefoot."

Chronicler held up a finger at Claw and very seriously said, "Don't try any funny business with me around. I can seriously hurt you."

"I'm a little hungry too," said Chomper. "Come on, I'll show where I can always find a good midnight snack." he then led Claw out of the cave.

Once Chomper and Claw were out of the cave, Ruby turned to Chronicler and asked, "Did you really have to say that to him? I think he was only joking."

"I don't like jokes," replied Chronicler. "Not only am I the quiet one of my family, I also happen to be the most serious of them."

"Everyone enjoys a good laugh every now and then, and I'm sure that even you would enjoy one too."

"Sometimes. But don't expect your idea of fun to be what I would consider fun."

As they talked, they were walking though the cave. They soon reached a certain part of the cave. "This is where I usually sleep," said Ruby as she lied down in her sleeping spot, trying to get comfortable.

Chronicler decided to sleep on the other side of this part of the cave. He tried to get comfortable on the hard rocky ground, which was obviously difficult. "This could take some getting used to, but I guess I can make it work," he said to himself.

Ruby and Chronicler then said goodnight to each other and went to sleep.

Little Foot nodded and yawned. "Okay Grandma, good night guys!" He called to Cera, Tricia, and the others. He followed his parents away from everyone else.

Rebecca widened her eyes when the flyer said this. "You....you REALLY don't know how to fly or you do know and you can't right now?"

Amy had another oppurtunity to lie, but again, she decided not to. "Yeah, I don't know how to fly...it's embarrassing, but I'm just a late bloomer at it."

Like everything else in my life.... She thought to herself.

"So, I actually kind of wanted to be with my friends for tonight if that's okay. I'm pretty tired...so..." She trailed off and Rebecca understood. "That's fine. You just keep yourself warm and take care of yourself. I'll be looking for Pterano to see if he wants to come with us. I think Petrie would be happy to meet you too." She smiled and then said good night to everyone else. Then she took off.

Amy just stood there and watched Rebecca take off. But she wasn't really looking at Rebecca, she was just thinking, thinking of everything that happened....turning into a flyer, coming to this strange land, meeting these people she knew but didn't know. Red Claw, and his raid. She wondered if she should even be here, if she stayed here, Red Claw would surely try to attack again, so she told Grandpa Longneck, "Sir, this really is my fault that this happened. Because I blinded Red Claw, he wants to get me! He's going to keep coming here to go after me, I really think I should leave soon, maybe not tonight, but as soon as possible! I don't want any of you to suffer because of me. It's not fair to any of you."

Screech snickered softly at Red Claw’s method of waking Thud. Biting him, he thought. Why didn’t I think of that? Screech was relieved that Red Claw was not as angry with him and Thud as he had expected, considering how badly the attack on the Great Valley had gone. However, he suspected that Red Claw was still interested in avenging the damage the brown flyer had done to his eyes, and thought to warn him about the peculiar newcomers in the Great Valley that had given him and Thud so much trouble.

Um...Red Claw,” he said hesitantly, “Are you still planning on catching that flyer? Because if you are, it seems that there are some new dinosaurs in that valley that are going to make it a lot harder than we anticipated...

After Anna had been informed by Grandma Longneck that she would be okay, Anna glanced down at Ducky, who was still sitting on her shoulder.

"Uh...Ducky," Anna whispered.

"Yes?" Ducky replied as she glanced up at Anna.

"I think it's gettin' late.  Why don't I take ya back to your nest?" Anna offered.

"Okay.  That is a good idea, yes it is.  Mama might be very worried about me by now, yep yep yep," said Ducky.

"Alrightie.  Let's go then," Anna said as she turned toward the direction they had come from earlier.  Anna squinted, and realized she had a problem.

"Oh, dear," Anna sighed.

"What is it, Anna?" Ducky asked.

"See, since I'm not originally a dinosaur, I don't have sharp vision.  As a matter of fact, my vision as a human is pretty bad as well.  That's why, as a human, I can't see well without those glasses I showed ya earlier," Anna explained to the little swimmer.

"But you have sharp ears, yes you do," Ducky said.

"Yeah, but what's that got to do with my vision?" Anna asked in a curious fashion.

"Well, I could use my vision to help guide you to my nest, and you can use your hearing to listen for anything dangerous, yep yep yep," Ducky suggested.

"Ya know, I figured you're pretty smart for your age.  Great idea.  Okay, then.  If you'd guide me, I'd appreciate it," Anna replied.  The two then started to head back to Ducky's nest.

"Anna, how do you get around back at your home at night?" Ducky asked.

"Well, I tend to memorize my surroundings, so I quickly learn where things are.  See, in the dark, I can only see blurry outlines of things, and the darkness tends to blend most things together in my field of vision.  By memorizing my surroundings, I know where things are located so I don't run into 'em, trip over 'em, ya name it," Anna explained.

"Do you know what causes that?" Ducky asked.  Anna hesitated for a few moments, for she knew that was not the time to begin explaining what Asperger's Syndrome was or how it affected a person.

"It's...a long story.  One I'll have to share with ya later.  Otherwise, you'll never sleep tonight," Anna said with a chuckle as she continued to walk.

Grandpa Longneck nods,"It is time for us all to get some sleep I think.  Goodnight Everyone." He said to the others present before leaving with Littlefoot and Grandma Longneck.

Flapper waved then started thinking about where he could go to sleep.  Maybe somewhere with thick grass or near a tree.

Red Claw shook his head and sighed, "That's why I called you two early! I don't why you didn't listen to me! If I was defeated and then there was no way you two would try to get that flyer-" He stalled in midsentence, suddenly walking away from the two fast biters and clinging into his thoughts about the dream.

After a moment of silence he asked, "So, do one of you remember where we were?"

Amy looked to where Anna and Ducky went away and then she looked to Panagea and Guido.

I guess I could sleep there...

She limped toward the two feathered flyers and tried to rest beside him. Their feathered tickled her skin, which made her skin crawl and she quietly giggled at the tickling sensation. She couldn't help but notice Mr. Three Horn glaring at her as she tried to sleep. This made her skin crawl even more.

Mr. Three Horn snorted and motioned his family to come with him. So they followed him and he just kept thinking and believing that the flyer had to do with Red Claw being here and he was going to make sure the situation was taken care of immediately.

Once Mr. Three Horn left, Amy could just be next to the feathered flyers and tried to sleep.

(OOC: Rat Lady: Just so you know, I’m sleeping inside a pile of leaves, with only my head sticking out, while Guido is leaning against the pile like a pillow. So Guido’s feathers might touch you, but probably not mine. :p)

Look,” Screech growled to Red Claw, “I’m sorry we didn’t come running right away when you called. We found your flyer all right, but some friends of hers decided to make things difficult for us. In addition to that rainbow face Thud mentioned, there is a new fast runner in that valley; a white one–“ He paused. “Okay, I suppose that unless you can smell colors, they don’t matter much to you anymore, but it’s a male fast runner, and he managed to make fools of both of us. I believe he is the one responsible for knocking us out.

Screech continued. "Stranger still, there appears to be another sharptooth on the leafeaters’ side now; a fast biter like us. He didn't give us as much trouble as the others, but I still think he could be of consequence if we tried to attack the Great Valley again.

The last creature is...well, I don’t know WHAT it is, but it’s a flyer of some kind that seems to be only able to glide, and it’s covered with leafy...fuzzy...STUFF. He shuddered with rage. "Miserable thing force-fed me a piece of fruit, and then nearly gouged my eyes out!” He looked up at the blind Red Claw. “Surely you can understand how infuriating THAT is!

Grandma longneck was grateful that so many in the valley including the newcomers were concerned for her safety. She then picked Littlefoot up and gently placed him on her back and continued walking towards their nest smiling over at Grandpa Longneck. "Thank you dear for cleaning my wounds." she said with a gentle tone.

~~~
Rick blinked twice as he woke up not being able to sleep.
"This place...just begs me to go exploring." he said as he stood up on all fours being in his longneck form and began to walk around trying to see if he could point out any familiar sights in the valley.
"We are here, yep yep yep," Ducky chirped as they finally reached her nest.
"Will ya be okay?  Looks like your mother's not back yet," Anna said as she set Ducky down near Spike.
"Oh, yes I will.  Thank you very much," said Ducky.
"You're very welcome.  Goodnight, Ducky.  Goodnight, Spike," Anna said before she turned to head for the tree she had found for her living area earlier.
"Goodnight, Anna.  I will see you tomorrow, yep yep yep," Ducky said before she curled up next to Spike.  She felt safe with her brother at night.  She then thought about Anna and her vision in the dark.
I hope she will be okay, yep yep yep, Ducky thought to herself as she tried to fall asleep.  Meanwhile, Anna was doing as best as she could to find her way.
"Okay, now I walk around this tree," Anna said to herself as she reached out and touched the tree.  "And now, I.."
CRACK!  Before she knew it, Anna was seeing stars and her forehead hurt terribly.
"Ohhh, daggonit!" she grunted as she held her forehead in her hands.  A few moments later, she looked up to see she had walked right into a low tree branch.  She then started to giggle, not only at the thought of what she must have looked like, but also in response to the pain.  Anna had a tendency to laugh whenever she fell victim to a painful mishap.
"Man, do I wish I had dino vision," Anna said to herself as she continued on until she found her living area.  Normally, as a human, she slept in a dead person's position; that is, on her back with her hands folded over her heart.  However, she knew she could not do that as a dinosaur as she curled up next to the tree.  She had to shift around a couple of times to become more comfortable, but she eventually found a comfortable position and was asleep in no time.
Red Claw ignored Screech's response and asked again, "Do ANY of you KNOW where we were? Or do you still expect me to lead you everywhere? I'm still trying to get used to not seeing."
Red Claw sniffed the air and opened his mouth to taste anything that would go up in his glands. He smelt the very strong smell of trees and the wind blowing in his face.
"I guess it's this way, let me know if I am bumping into anything." He commanded.
Little Foot rested on his grandmother's back and saw where the wounds were. He sighed and thought outloud, "Why did mom die? If you could live to have wounds on your back from a sharptooth, why couldn't she?"
------------------
Amy layed there staring up at the sky, curling up next to Gudio, sort of acting as "security" for the little guy. He seemed so small and delicate compared to her. She couldn't help but warmly smile at him as he slept. Then she looked up at the sky. She was amazed by the stars and the bright circle.
So many stars, billions and billions of miles away.
She tried to think of the stars as guides watching over her and everyone else, because she might not have shown it very much, but she was scared. She was scared of the new environment she had to get used for however long, meeting people she only partly knew, and getting used to a lifestyle she never was used to.
She shut her eyes and tried to relax herself, breathing deeply, and think sweet, pleasant thoughts until she could sleep.
A little while later, Anna woke up to what sounded like a distant splash.  She opened her eyes, and looked toward the water.  She could see what looked like an adult swimmer swimming in the water.
"Woah," Anna said to herself as she stood up.  "My dreams are more realistic than I thought."  However, after blinking hard several times, she realized she was not dreaming.  As the swimmer came closer, Anna noticed she looked like Ducky and Spike's mother.
"Could it be?  Why would she not return to her children yet I wonder?" Anna asked herself as she waded in the water to get a closer look at the swimmer.
John then had another dream. But rather then it being a hellish nighmare it turned out to be rather soothing.
 He once again found himself in the Great Valley. Except it was completely white and lifeless. Then John saw the form of a ghostly apatosaurus before him.
"W-Who are you" John asked the ghostly longneck.
 "First, why don't you tell me your name" she replied.
"It's John. What is your reason for being here" John told her.
 "Very well, I will tell you. I sense that something will befall the Great Valley, something menecing." The longneck ghost replied.
 "If ye expect me to save the Great Valley. Forget it, I'm no hero" John explained.
 The longneck ghost chuckled and said: "You will be...fairly soon. I don't have much time left, remember what I said"
"I shall" John said
"Farewell, young one" The apatosaurus spoke as her voice grew fainter and fainter before the dream ended.
