The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

As Pangaea and Guido searched for a group to join (or another individual to join them), Pangaea’s mind once again began nervously racing. While he greatly enjoyed his conversations with Guido, he desperately wanted a chance to talk to others in the valley as well. So far, besides his argumentative discourse with Mr. Threehorn the previous day, he had spoken briefly to Cera, Amy, Chronicler, Ruby, Anna, and that friendly fast biter (whose name he hadn’t caught), but in every case inopportune circumstances had meant that those conversations had to be cut short. But now, Pangaea was wondering if that had been for the best. He had extremely poor confidence in his socializing skills, and considered himself extremely bad at initiating conversations. What would he actually say when he finally had a chance to speak with somebody else without interruption? He doubted his extensive knowledge of prehistoric life would be of much interest here; he already knew about most of the gang’s adventuresónot much point in discussing those; and he didn’t want to just talk about himself, for fear of appearing self-centered.

Pangaea really didn’t know how to say anything to a stranger (or, at least, someone he didn’t know too well personally) without a prompt; he needed the other party to establish the subject of the conversation first. Pangaea sighed. He usually liked to have an idea of what he was going to say ahead of time, but seeing as he didn't even know who he would meet (privately, he hoped it would be a member of the gang, or one of the GOF members he had already spoken toóhe felt more comfortable continuing a conversation than starting a new one), he figured he would just have to improvise. Oh well, he thought, better to say something and risk looking like a knucklehead than staying silent and being left out.

Petrie hopped up and down a bit excitedly.  "Me uncle Pterano? Me have to go and find him.  Me miss hm." He said and took off to try to find where Pterano was, flying up high enough to see if he could spot him from the air.

--

Grandpa Longneck though over things a bit before replying.  "I wonder if there is a new opening, or if there was a minor earthshake that moved some rocks allowing them to get in.   We should send some around to see i any obvious opening has appeared that we need to reseal up." he said.

Belmont wondered what one of his dreams was about, the one with Sharptooth attacking him, it didn't have anything to do with Red Claw's attack that took place shortly after Belmont met up with Rick and Longtail.

Mr. Three Horn growled and muttered, "Maybe...but why would the sharpteeth come here now. It just seems convenient that they come as soon as our new "guests" come here. I say we have a meeting about this with the rest of our valley."

Little Foot then replied, "Ali, let's go." He muttered as he narrowed his eyes at Mr. Three Horn. He lead Ali away to find the rest of their friends.

Meanwhile in the mysterious beyond, Red Claw was basking in the sun, trying to get warm. However, he also smelt the air, noticing how dry it was. There was almost no moisture what so ever. Suddenly realizing his thrist, he got up and tried to carefully find where the water was. He then stepped into something liquid-like, and he sniffed it, realizing it was water. He then took a few gulps to quench his thirst.

After Chronicler and Ruby leaved, Chomper turned to fastbiter:

"Come on, Claw. The watering hole is not far from here. We can catch our breakfast ther." he said, walking away. Claw followed. After few minutes of going through some bushes and passing several trees, they had gotten to clearing with a lake in the middle. There were some other dinosaurs, who obviously had friendly conversation with each other. This made Claw/Myrkin hesitant, but he remembered that since he was with Chomper any flattooth stranger will not see him as a threat to run from or to attack.

"Hello Spike! Hello Ducky!" Chomper shouted, running closer to the group. Since he didn't want to stay behind, Claw followed suit. As he was approaching, he could hear Chomper speaking to his friends in enthusiastically manner:

"How are you guys and who are your new friends? I've not seen them here before..." As Claw came to a group, Chomper pointed to him "Oh, and this is Claw. He is new to the Valley. Claw, these are my friends: Ducky, Spike..." little sharptooth started intruducing, but fastbiter interrupted him.

"I've met them already as well as you, I believe..." he said nodding to Anna "I don't know some of you though, so... My name is Claw, as Chomper said, and it is nice to meet you." he added, looking at others.

Chronicler and Ruby finished their breakfast by the time they were halfway to the Smoking Mountain. Chronicler didn't bother saying anything. He usually wasn't willing to start any conversations with anybody.

Ruby, however, wanted to ask Chronicler some questions. "Chronicler? Is it okay if I ask you some questions so that I can know some things I don't know?"

"Sure, whatever," replied Chronicler.

"Why do you act the way you do? The way I see it, you sometimes act like there's nothing good about life."

"Basically, I'm not a pessimist, I'm a realist. A pessimist sees only the bad things in everything. A realist sees the truth in everything, whether you like it or not. I don't know about this world, but my world has a lot of problems that most people don't even bother trying to fix. If I had grown up in this world, my attitude might have been better."

"Is that why you often say that you're 'surrounded by idiots'?"

"Yeah, it's one reason."

Amy was a bit uncomfortable seeing Claw here, so she shyly said hi to Chomper and Claw. Then she asked Claw just to try get conversation going. "Are you new to the valley also?"
-----------------
Red Claw rose his head from drinking and said, "Do whatever you want Thud. I have no assigned errands for you or Screech to do." He said this with a very monotone and almost grave voice.
----------------
"Alright kids, I have to go to get something for myself also." Rebbecca told her kids before taking off to find food.

She landed near a pond to hunt for fish. She with ease caught it and landed on a branch eating it. Little did she know that he perched in a tree next to Pterano.
--------------
Mr. Three Horn insisted, "Well Longneck, what do you say?" He held his stern gaze at the elderly longnecks.

"Hello, Chomper!  It is good to see you this morning, yep yep yep!"  Ducky greeted her friend before she noticed the fastbiter named Claw.  Ducky felt uneasy about Claw as she looked at him.

"Hey, I met Claw yesterday," Anna said.  "He had the pleasure of meetin' Mr. Threehorn."

"Daddy can be so difficult," Cera added as she and Tricia met up with the group.  "I'm sorry if he's made anyone feel uncomfortable or unwelcome."  She then looked around at the newcomers.  Tricia stepped in closer to Cera when she noticed Claw.

"Mornin', Cera.  How ya doin'?" Anna greeted.  Cera smiled at the sight of her crazy new friend.

"I'm fine, thanks.  Looks like we have more newcomers," Cera said.  She, too, felt uneasy about the fastbiter, but when she noticed Chomper was with Claw, she felt more comfortable.  After all, Chomper would never let a sharptooth hurt his friends or their relatives.

Amy saw Cera and her sister coming up. She looked at Cera and remembered how she used to just despise her and all of the triceratops in the Land Before Time series, she hated bossy people, let alone creatures telling her what to do. Now that Amy was older she wasn't as bothered by it, but she still had that cringe of worry that Cera would say something and Amy would loose it with her.

Instead of introducing herself to Cera and her sis, she just waited until Claw gave a response.

Belmont wandered through the valley and was eager to see Littlefoot, little did he know of the meeting that was taking place.

Thomas walked over through the grass and saw Amy and Cera....

"Hello there, Amy!" he said in greetings, waving his hand. She was... familiar. "That was some crazy stuff that happened yesterday. Does it happen a lot in this valley?" He asked, not knowing if Amy would reasonably know the answer to that...

"Well," Grandpa Longneck said in his usual no need to hurry way of speaking, "I do not see why any flattooth would help any sharpteeth.  Most sharpteeth eat flatteeth.  Plus most flatteeth and sharpteeth are unable to talk to each other." Grandpa Longneck said.

--

Petrie continued flying to see if you could find his uncle.  He would try for a bit longer before he went in search of his friends.

--

Flapper succeeded in climbing a tree of a good height.  He climbed up as far as he thought was safe and wrapped his tail around a branch to provide some safety as he looked around to see what he could see.

-

Mim continued her stroll, walking around to see if she would see anyone she wanted to talk to.

Anna noticed how Amy looked at Cera, and she felt she could sense tension.  This worried Anna, for she knew what Amy's opinion of Cera was.  Anna hated getting into fights, and therefore worried that any fighting between the two would put her in the middle of things.  She saw Amy as a good friend, and at the same time had been Cera's biggest fan since childhood.

Please, God, don't let 'em fight.  If they expect me to side with one of 'em, I can't do that, Anna thought to herself.

Amy turned to see Vincent. "Hi Vincent, how are ya? And I wouldn't know if the valley is like this...I never have been here. I'm from the GOF, and I'm Rat_lady on that site."
-----------
Mr. Three Horn was impatient with the old timer, so he said, "Oh automatically I am wrong is that right? Oooo the big, bad, mean three horn is so mean, so now we need to shut him down everytime something comes out of his mouth, well let me tell you something Longneck...I care about the valley, my family and their safety. If it means driving those new comers away, so be it. I think we should have a meeting now, and today. We can't wait any longer anyhow, those sharp teeth could be coming here soon!"
------------
Rebeccca gulped the rest of her fish and then at the corner of her eye saw her brother still asleep.

Lazy bum. She snickered softly to herself. She figured she would just wait until he woke up to welcome him to the valley and have her nephew see his uncle.
------------
Little Foot lead Ali away and saw a flash of something go past him. The human he thought. He then heard voices to the direction the human was going to.

"Hey, that sounds like Cera!" He smiled and looked at Ali. "Let's go see them!"

Ali nodded, she was dying to see Cera again.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Belmont had gotten to the longneck nest and he was shocked, he heard Mr.Threehorn say "if it means driving these newcomers away, so be it" and that shocked him Belmont knew that Threehorn would eventully decide that the GOF members coming to the valley ment trouble, but that was just some lame excuse to explain the sharptooth attack, really, the GOF ment no harm to anyone in the Great Valley so why would it come to this.

"darn you Threehorn" Belmont though before getting up and leaving as quick as he could.

"You- you know my real first name!" 'Thomas' said, astonished. "Wait... did I... ever tell you it somewhere?" he asked, slowly realizing the truth of the situation. He didn't understand HOW a human girl could be in dinosaur form. Yes, they had been on some site before, although they had never seen each other in person. A site about... well... where they were now. "Yes.. you ARE from the Gang of Five... a website. And yet... how is this possible?" he asked.

Claw shook Sam's hand, then he answered Amy's question:

"Yes, I am. I arrived here yesterday..." he said. At this moment Cera and Tricia came and Claw noticed that the female flyer he was alking with didn't look partculary happy at threehorn. It wasn't too strange though, as the threehorns wasn't the most social creatures you could imagine...

The things became more interesting, as the human in human form had come. Honestly, Claw didn't know how to react at first, so he kept silent for a minute before he heard words 'Gang of Five'. At that he asked, almost shouting from excitement:

"You are not only a human, but you are also a member of GoF? How many humans we got in this Valley, anyhow?"

Amy chuckled at the questions from Noname and Claw.

"Well I don't know how, but you me, and few others are here." She shruged. Then she answered Claw's question, "Well, there's one," pointing at Noname. And Anna over here, pointing to the swimmer is Cancerian Tiger on the GOF. And that's Sam, ff-raptor ace." She pointed to the swimmer and the rainbow face.

"Hey guys!" A familiar voice hollered. Amy look to the source and saw Ali and Little Foot coming their way.

Amy smiled and replied, "Hi Little Foot, and you must be Ali huh?" Amy decided to a get a bit more brave with knowing the characters. She wouldn't be honest and say that the dinosaurs were a tv show, a movie series or the like, but she would hint that she heard about them from somewhere.

"There is no need to get all angry." Grandpa Longneck said, thinking to himself he had only seen threehorn angry and wondering if he could be happy or even smile.  "Newcomers should be greeted, and if they wish to remain here for a time why not.  There is enough food and water here." Grandpa Longneck said patiently.  "Though there should be a meeting if nothing else to warn some others there have been a sharptooth and fastbiters and see if any know how they may have gotten in.   After all there was a time when some egg eaters snuck into the valley.  Thankfully nothing bad happened and they left on their own." Grandpa Longneck said.  Not knowing that they were chased by Chomper's parents.
