The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

Tria had expected something like this to happen. A scapegoat. A scared crowd wants a scapegoat, and Topsy was just the one to give it to them...

"Leave the poor girl alone!" she shouted. "Do you have any proof she did anything to make the sharpteeth attack, or help them get in here?" she asked the crowd, while looking right at her mate.

"It sounds like it was an accident that she brought him here.  Have the rest of you never done an accident yourselves?  We have been able to get rid of sharpteeth in the past by working together and we can do so again.  And why turn away someone because of an accident.  it is not like she meant to bring Red Claw here or showed him how to get in." Grandpa Longneck said.

"That's right!" Tria added. "She didn't mean it! You act like you have witnesses to Amy making up an evil plan... or some kinda... conspiracy! Do you think she MEANT any of this, Topsy? Remember the time you nearly walked Cera and yourself into the flames? You told me about that yourself. Did you MEAN to do that?"

Pangaea had not been aware that Amy had blinded Red Claw (for that matter, he hadn’t even known Red Claw had been blinded, having not even seen the sharptooth), and it came as nothing short of a shock to him. He was astonished, impressed, and just a little bit intimidated. I’ll have to remember not to get on her bad side, he thought to himself only half-jokingly.

But this was serious. Amy was now facing exile from the Great Valley. Obviously she was being accused of provoking Red claw’s attack, which Pangaea now realized must have been an attempt at revenge. So that’s what Screech and Thud were doing in the valley last night! he thought. They were here for Amy! Red Claw’s atack was just a diversion so that they could sneak in!

For a moment Pangaea thought about sharing this revelation, but then reconsidered, worrying that Mr. Threehorn might use it to justify exiling Amy from the valley. If I tell him that Red Claw came here to get her, he’ll think that just giving her to him will keep him from coming back. He seriously doubted that Red Claw would cease his attacks even if he achieved his revenge, but didn’t want to risk not being able to convince Mr. Threehorn of that.

Pangaea didn’t know what to do. He hated it when people (or, in this case, dinosaurs) around him argued. He was never sure whether to step in and try to help resolve the conflict, or just keep his mouth shut and stay out of it, for fear of making the situation worse. For now, he thought he would just wait and hope that somebody with better public speaking skills than him managed to convince Mr. Threehorn. If no one did, he would take it upon himself to come to Amy’s defense. He only hoped that if and when he did decide to speak up, it would not be too late.

Anna could feel the ticking timebomb in her was about to explode, but she did her best to contain herself as she spoke up.

"Oh, and by the way, where we newcomers come from, there's a practice called 'innocent until proven guilty'.  So, Mr. Threehorn, where's your proof that Amy did such a thing?  Were there any witnesses to this incident?  Speak up now and raise your paw if any of y'all witnessed Amy provoke anything!" Anna said.  She looked around and saw not one paw was raised.

"Ha!  Dontcha see?!  Without proof, nobody can say she did anything wrong, and self-defense does not count as wrong!  Since this appears to be a prejudice-based judgment, I say Mr. Threehorn's false accusations are invalid!" Anna spoke up louder that time.

Mr. Three Horn was boiling in rage. So now he roared a piercing cry that seemed to be a sound that was unnatural for a full grown three horn such as himself.

"All of you forget, she LEAD them here! Red Claw obviously wanted his prey. And if that's the only way to get that particular group to leave us alone, so be it! AND HOW DARE YOU..." He yelled at Sam, "TELL ME THAT I DON'T KNOW WHAT IT'S LIKE TO SACRIFICE MYSELF FOR THOSE I LOVE!" He ran to Sam and pierced his horn against Sam, making him topple to the ground.

"I LOVE MY FAMILY! I LOVE MY VALLEY! YOU ARE BLIND! ALMOST ALL OF YOU!"

Amy felt all of these things crashing down on her. She wanted to cry, crawl in a hole and die. She wasn't angry at that moment, which surprised her completely, but she was baffled at everything that was going on.

Anna got blown over as Sam was attacked, and that was the last straw.  Nobody attacks a friend of Anna's and gets away with it.  Anna screamed in rage as she jumped in between Sam and Mr. Threehorn, grabbed Mr. Threehorn by the horns and grappled with him.

"NOW YA LISTEN HERE, YA FREAKIN' JACKA**!" Anna screamed in a psychotic-like voice as she made eye contact with the irrational threehorn.  Her eyes made her look like an unleashed demon.

"HURT MY FRIENDS AND YOU'LL HAVE TO HURT ME AS WELL 'CUZ I SURE AS HELL AIN'T GONNA LET YA GET AWAY WITH IT!  HOW YOU'RE ACTING IS STUPID, STUPID, STUPID!  GO ON 'N KILL SAM AND I IF YA DARE, 'CUZ I SURE AS HELL AIN'T AFRAID OF ANYONE HERE, BUT IS THIS HOW YOU'D LIKE YOUR CHILDREN TO SEE YA ACT?!  HUH?!  I DON'T GIVE A S*** IF YA HURT ME, AND I WON'T GO DOWN WITHOUT A FIGHT, BUT I WON'T BE THE ONE LIVIN' WITH THE GUILT AND HUMILIATION AFTERWARD!  GO ON 'N TAKE YOUR BEST SHOT, BUT YOU'RE GONNA HAVE TO KILL ME FIRST, 'CUZ I WON'T LET YA HURT SAM OR ANY OF MY FRIENDS AS LONG AS I'M ALIVE 'N KICKIN', GOT THAT?!"  Anna screamed as loud as she could.  She could feel her throat starting to bleed, but she could care less as she continued to wrestle Mr. Threehorn.  Tears of rage started to escape her.  She had held a considerable amount of respect and understanding for Mr. Threehorn up until this point.

"I cannot watch, oh no no no!" Ducky cried as she covered her eyes with her hands.  Cera just stared in shock as Tricia cried out in fear, dropped to the ground, and buried her face with her front paws.  Cera felt she should defend her father, but she knew he was wrong for attacking Sam.

Tria threw herself in between the combatants, tears in her eyes. She was the one who had mentioned someone leading the sharpteeth into the valley from the inside. She felt like this was HER fault...

"STOP IT!! ALL OF YOU JUST STOP IT!!" she screamed. "There's no need to do this! There's no nee-"

THUNK!!

A crudely-fashioned wooden spear with a stone tip had pierced Topsy in the front left leg. Someone had thrown it. From 20 paces away, "Thomas" was staring at his target. He has thought Topsy was on a murderous rampage. He had not intended that to be a crippling blow, and it wasn't. It DID serve to make it impossible for Topsy to charge at anyone...

Yes, he had heard the screaming and saw the fighting...

Climbing down the nearby hill, "Thomas" grabbed a second spear and advanced slowly, holding the spear at his side, not in front of him...

Mim shook her head and thought to herself, Simply discussing.  Grown ups acting more childish then their kids.  She thought, and decided to keep an eye on Littlefoot, knowing he often would save the day or some up with a solution.

Flapper, from where he was, also decided to keep an eye on Littlefoot, remembering how things turned out in the movies and tv series.  Though knowing those were juvenile type fiction, thinking maybe that is how things here worked so thought it best to keep an eye on Littlefoot as well.

"Why grown ups always argue?" Petrie asked.  "We no argue." he said meaning his friends and himself.

Grandpa Longneck looked at Petrie, who was still on his back, a bit sadly, "I guess with some it is unavoidable." he said.

Chronicler shook his head and sighed in frustration. "This is ridiculous," he said. "Can we go now?" he asked Ruby. "We're obviously getting nowhere, here."

"Not right now," replied Ruby. "Maybe everyone will come to an agreement soon, though I hope it will be for a good reason and not a bad reason."

Again, Chronicler shook his head and sighed in frustration. He decided to speak up. "Hey, we could either spend the whole day blaming each other for nothing, or we could think about all this and figure out how we could prevent something like this from happening again."

Claw looked at the mess, which supposed to be a meeting and he couldn't help but think it was... pathetic. Yes, it was a good term to describe this situation. They gathered in Rock Circle to answer to the threat of Red Claw coming again to the Valley, but instead they were cursing each other and now they were even fighting. Mr. Threehorn and some GOF members acted were acing like an animals, who tried to settle through battle who was right and who wasn't. Of course, Mr. Threehorn was much to be blamed for this, as he was the one who attacked Sam, but others didn't do better with this constant challenging him. They were right about disagreeing with him, but did they have to express their opinion in this way? Did they have to insult him? These were the questions Claw was asking himself. He didn't move to stop the fight, as he knew he wasn't strong enough to pull Anna and Threehorn apart, and he didn't say anything. The only one who could stop this argument was Grandpa Longneck, as he had some authority (being one of elders of the Valley) and also a strenght to back it up. Perhaps, removal of troublemakers or even postponing the meeting will be necessary to make some constructive decisions...

Once she noticed Mr. Threehorn was no longer after Sam, Anna let go of his horns and tried to catch her breath.  Mr. Threehorn was one strong dinosaur, and how a small figure like Anna had been able to help fend him off from hurting Sam was beyond her.  As Anna moved her right arm, she felt a sharp pain shoot through the upper part of her right arm.  When she looked at her upper arm, she noticed a long gash stretched transversely across her upper arm.  She had sustained that injury when she had gotten knocked over as Mr. Threehorn charged at Sam, and she recalled striking her upper arm on a sharp rock.  Anna had forgotten about that when she came to Sam's aid, and since she had a very high pain threshold, she had not paid any mind to her injury.  The gash was bleeding rather severely, so Anna gripped her upper arm with her left hand to apply pressure before she looked at Mr. Threehorn and the others around them.  She felt like the biggest idiot that had ever graced the face of the planet, even though she knew her intention had been to protect her friend.  She then returned her glance to Mr. Threehorn.

"Unbelievable," Anna sobbed as more tears of rage, this time rage against herself, escaped her.  "That I stooped down to the same level as yourself!  Attackin' folks smaller than yourself is not the mature way to resolve things, but neither is fighting and screaming!  If this is the way grown-ups here like to resolve things, then I'm leaving!  I can't take this kind of behavior, and I do not wish to have any further part in it!  Please excuse me!"  With that, Anna stormed away in hopes of finding items that could substitute for human first-aid items.  She was a bleeder, and though she did not have a bleeding disorder, she still bled fast.  She knew she had to treat her arm before she would lose too much blood.

Sam tied a few vines tightly against his would. "That should do,' sam said to himself. "Where is  a hollow log that should get everyone's attention,' sam thought.

Mim got up to go after Anna to see if she could help her, attempting to run to catch up to her.

"Is all we grown ups can do, is fight among ourselves instead of discussing things?  We seem to be acting more childish then our young ones act.  MAYBE we should leave the discussions and decision making to them for a change!" He said.

"Yea, we no argue like grown ups do." Petrie said, recalling how the grown ups liked to argue.

"Why not.  Let's see how they would resolve this situation.  Let them speak for a while." Flapper said, interested in what the gang would say about the situation.

Mr. Three Horn saw the spear, which made him pull away from Anna and he tore the stick of the spear off, still with the stone in his paw.

He looked like someone in road rage, with red eyes, blood splurted on his paws and on his horn.

He growled at everyone and decided he had enough.

"FINE! THEN ALL OF YOU ARE ON HER SIDE! THIS IS THE FINAL STRAW! FOR NOW ON, IT'S VERY DINOSAUR FOR HIMSELF, IT'S EITHER YOU'RE FOR THE VALLEY OR AGAINST IT!"

This echoed in Amy's mind, remembering the days where President Bush exactly had this philosophy, if you were against him, you were against the will of America. Amy was glad the fighting halted a bit, so now, she had her chance to speak.

Mr. Three Horn walked away, but Amy stood on a rock and breathed deeply before she started to speak.

"The more I see fighting, like what we just witnessed, the more I am convinced that I SHOULD leave. Fighting and tearing each other part, is not the way to go. It never was, and it never will be. It's always, ALWAYS even before your time caused issues. I remember hearing stories about this valley...this beautiful and amazing place called the Great Valley. I wondered, if such place even existed. I actually came so far to believe that it didn't. From the legends I hear, dinosaurs do not coexist together, they were torn apart BECAUSE of differences, and that's what made groups even smaller."

She paused looking to see if anyone was listening, which there was.

Little Foot was going to jump in to help, but he stayed aside and let Amy speak.

"You." She pointed at Mr. Three Horn. "Every single one of you." She pointed to everyone in the heard minus the GOF members.

"You came together. You had to, it was your way to survive, so try find the Great Valley, to come at the same destination together." Amy used her fingers to link them together to give visuals.

"You did, you are here, so are you going to toss this all away, just because of a few mistakes? Of a measely obstacle? Of a diffcult dinosaur to deal with?"

She looked at Mr. Three Horn as she said this.

"Because of me? Because of my friends? No. You worked too hard, you are too strong to even do such thing. That's why you are still together, despite everything that happened."

She paused again, with the crowd silent for a moment.

Then she turned to Grandpa Longneck and said, "If it's okay, I want to help clog the hole that I made. I apologize sincerely for it. And we can groups to look at other places in the valley to see if it needs managing. Does that sound okay?" She looked to Grandpa Longneck, and then to everyone else.
