The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

Being smaller than the adult dinosaurs, Ruby and Chronicler were able to walk side-by-side through the narrow pass, directly behind Chomper and Claw. As they walked, Ruby couldn't help but get a bad feeling about what might soon happen.

"I'm not so sure about all this, not sure at all about this," said Ruby to herself.

"What do you mean?" asked Chronicler.

"I can't help but get the feeling that there might be a big fight, and I don't want a big fight like that to happen."

"Me neither. I'd like to avoid a bloodbath as much as you do, and I think I know how we might be able to do it."

Ruby was curious about what Chronicler had in mind. "How will we do that?"

"If you want to prevent a fight, you should always try to talk it out before you throw a punch."

"But how will we do that? They don't speak Leafeater and we don't speak Sharptooth."

"But Chomper does, and since you're his caretaker, it should be easy for you to convince him to agree with us."

Ruby thought about it for a moment and eventually agreed with Chronicler. She then said to Chomper, "Hey, Chomper, did you hear what Chronicler and I just talked about?"

"I have a right to collect anything I want. It's just junk anyway."

Meanwhile, as Anna continued to walk, she began to feel the same way she felt whenever she hiked in bear country back in the human world.  She felt extremely alert as her senses heightened.

"Somethin's not right," she whispered to herself.

Grandpa Longneck kept watch as he walked along, not just keeping out a watch for sharpteeth and fastbiters but also to make sure no one was starting to straggle or fall behind.

Mim walked along with the group. She was a bit apprehensive as to what would happen but did remain as calm as she could.  She continued to remain around and with the dinos that were her size since traveling with them was easier then with the large ones.

Spike continued sniffing the air, following the scents of the valley elders staying steadily focused, knowing that getting distracted could be bad.

Longtail however began to fidget nervously in Ricks arms. The young flyer didn't want to admit it... but he had a bad feeling, and it only seemed to get worse as their group got closer to the valley wall. 'I don't know what's gonna happen.... but... I just hope, we all make it out.' he thought to himself.

Rick felt a chill go up his spine, and he hesitated for only a moment before falling into step once again. He looked down at Longtail noticing his fidgeting, and then looked over to the others in their group. He then slowed his pace and asked Zaine and Littlefoot. "I'm getting a bad feeling, and Longtail's fidgeting isn't making it any better.... are you two sure we should be doing this?"

~~~
Grandma Longneck continued to follow the rest of the group and fell into line behind several of the other valley members as their rescue party began to ascend the Great Wall. "I'd forgot how much of a climb this would be." she said in a oddly amused tone of voice.
Chomper was sniffing the ground, making sure that they were on the right trail. He turned back, towards Ruby and Chronicler and said:
"I did and I can translate your words to Redclaw, but I doubt he will listen. He is the meanest sharptooth in Mysterious Beyond after all..."
"Well... We will have to try anyway." Claw spoke "Valley Elders will surely want to hear about your idea, Chronicler. They might know how to negotiate with Redclaw." he added.
Littlefoot nodded. "I understand your feelings, but Pangaea is our friend. He would do anything to help us if we were in trouble, and we need to do the same. If that means going into the Mysterious Beyond, then that's what we'll do." Littlefoot kept an eye on the group to make sure nobody was falling behind, and everything seemed well. He then noticed that Zaine was getting a little restless as well. "Zaine, are you okay?"
"Call me crazy," Zaine replied, "but I'm getting that bad feeling Rick and Longtail have too. Something doesn't feel right."
"What do you think it is?" Littlefoot asked again.
"I don't know. I'm probably just getting paranoid." Zaine shook it off and smiled. "I'll be fine." In the back of his mind, he wasn't fine. Every time Longtail gets a bad feeling, I get it too. If he is worried out of all of us, then something bad is definitely going to happen. Whatever it is, we can't let that get in our way.
As Rob continued up the hike, he couldn't stop thinking about Littlefoot. After all this time, I finally meet him, but I feel like I've always known him. I see him in my dreams all the time. Were they a sign? Was I destined to be brought here to meet him and the others? Shaking the thought off of his mind and coming back to the matter at hand, he hurried up to Threehorn. "I know how difficult this may seem, but we should try negotiating with them when we find them. I've been thinking, and it doesn't make sense for Red Claw to take Pangaea JUST to get to all of us. There has to be something else more specific he wants. We find out what that is, maybe we can give it to him and avoid bloodshed, that is if what he wants doesn't involve anybody. Otherwise, this is going to get ugly."
"He does need help, and it not first time we go to mysterious beyond." Petrie said, thinking to himself that it seems they kept going into the mysterious beyond for this or that reason pretty often.
"Oh, you guys are acting like a couple of scaredy eggs!  We don't have anything to worry about," Cera said in attempts to calm the group down but ended up sounding proud.  She did not want to admit she was nervous herself and hoped the others could not sense it.
---------------------
"I swear, somethin' doesn't feel right.  It's way too quiet out here," Anna said in a whisper as she continued to walk.  She then overheard Grandma Longneck's comment.
"Do we need to slow down?" she asked the elderly longneck in a concerned manner.
"I think so,I've got a bad feeling that we may be ambushed" was John's response to Anna's question.
At this time of night, there were several fast biters out roaming the Mysterious Beyond, searching for nocturnal prey and the odd sleeping farwalker. Some hunted alone, others in pairs or small packs. Using his sharp sense of smell to pick up on their locations, Thud relayed Red Claw’s message to as many fast biters as he could find. Most of them reacted a little skeptically or even nervously when Red Claw’s name was mentioned, but their interest was unanimously piqued by the promise of a large meal. Nearly every fast biter Thud met quickly accepted his offer, and was directed to the location where Red Claw planned to set the trap.
Eventually, Thud decided that he had gathered enough fast biter mercenaries to pull off an ambush of an entire herd of leafeaters, and returned to Red Claw and Screech.
--------------------------------------------------
“This is it: the pass,” Mr. Threehorn said as the group arrived at the narrow opening that led out of the valley. “Follow me through, and keep alert: these sharpteeth are up to something; for all we know they’re planning an ambush.”
Guido grew tense at these words, tightening his grip on one of Mr. Threehorn’s brow horns.
“Keep moving, everyone!” Rebecca called out as she flew ahead of the group. “I’ll see if I can find out what they have planned. I doubt they’re going to give Pangaea up without a fight.”
"Without a doubt," Anna replied to both John and Mr. Threehorn.  "Otherwise, we would've run into a fastbiter or two by now.  Seems they would lurk close to the valley if they were lookin' for food.  Somethin's definitely not right out here."
"I agree," Rob added. "This is almost too easy, which means that something isn't going to happen according to plan." He almost thought he saw a fast biter following them, but he dismissed it from his mind. I never thought I would have to fight sharpteeth, let alone fast biters. I hope I'm strong enough. He fell back towards Anna, who was equally wary as him. "You sense it too. This whole scene has trap written all over it."
Littlefoot and the group eventually made it to the foot of the hill the rescue party had gone up already. "I think they went up this hill," he deduced. "We should too, but go around so we're not directly behind them. If we get to higher ground, we can see exactly what's happening with them."
"Good idea," Zaine replied. "If something bad starts to happen, we'll be ready to jump in if necessary." At the same time, Zaine wanted to just run up and yell for Rob. He really didn't want to see his new friend get hurt, but Littlefoot was right. First they had to get to safer ground. Then he could worry about Rob. "Let's go then." He and Littlefoot started up the hill, leading the rest of the group behind them with Spike still in front.
"And see ahead of where they are and good places to hide if sharpteeth or fastbiters appear and chase us." petrie said, shivering at the thought of being chased by a sharptooth or fastbiter, let alone more then one.
-----------
"Hmm, perhaps they are absent here since they are being gathered and or are waiting at a certain place." Mim said, thinking things over a bit before she said anything.
"Even more reason for us to remain close together and extra alert." Grandpa Longneck said.
"That's what my gut instinct says right now," Anna replied to Rob.  "I hope I'm wrong, but just in case anything does happen, we should still be alert and on guard."
-------------------------
"Okay, here we go," Cera said as she began to follow Littlefoot with Ducky riding on her back.
"I hope we get up there okay, yep yep yep," Ducky added.
"We will, and if we can't, I can always grab onto Littlefoot's tail," Cera replied.
Spike continued to use his sniffer to track the grown ups, but knew about the course correction the others were trying to use. He climbed the hill with a minor difficulty but he reached the top with a smile. He could see down the other side of the hill where the grown-ups were walking.
Rick was climbing behind Zaine and caught his footing as he slipped. "Geez... these rocks are just as dangerous as they are in my world." he said aloud.
Longtail who had taken flight during the hike up the cliff looked down and laughed. "Then maybe your human form isn't the best for climbing rocks." he commented with a sly sneer.
Rick decided it would be best to continue climbing without responding to Longtail's snarky comment.
Grandma Longneck stopped walking for a moment as she noticed movement at the base of the wall. She squinted her eyes to see who or what it was that was moving. "Does anyone know who that is at the base of the great wall?" she asked with curiosity.
Mim used her right hand to shield her eyes as she looked ahead at that spot.  "I can't see exactly who it is either." She said.
"I do wonder who it is." Grandpa Longneck said, remaining calm so as to not get the others needlessly worried, but a bit concerned himself, though remaining calm in case it was not any danger.
"No idea" John said, attempting to get a better view of the mysterious figure.
Rob looked in the direction that everybody was looking at. At first he couldn't tell who they were since they were so far down, but then as he squinted his eyes he could pick out certain shapes. Then he recognized them and almost gasped. It's Littlefoot and the others! What the heck are they doing here? Then he noticed three other figures and sighed. Zaine's definitely with them. So are Rick and Longtail. I knew Zaine wouldn't listen. Then again, I should have known that from the start since I created him. He didn't want to bring it up to worry any of the grown ups, and it looked like he didn't need to. They all seemed to be going a different route then the one they were on, which came as a relief. Good, they're heading for higher ground. They won't be in as much danger if they're above everything. Still, they shouldn't be here. Rob whispered to Anna, "Things may have just gotten much more complicated. I think that's Littlefoot and the others down there. The grown ups haven't noticed them yet, so I think we should keep it that way."
Littlefoot kept his footing as much as he could as he climbed in somewhat of a sideways angle. He mostly wanted to make sure nobody was falling behind, and for the most part it seemed everybody was keeping close. "Just walk slowly guys. If we try to run we might slip and fall. That might attract the attention of the grown ups, or worse."
"I'm surprised they haven't caught on to us yet," Zaine admitted. "I figured somebody would have spotted us from that height. I guess we're just lucky."
"Then let's not jinx it," Littlefoot added.
"You don't have to tell me twice," Zaine agreed. In the back of his mind, he knew that if anybody would have spotted them it was Rob. I know Rob saw us. It looked like he had stopped for a second there, and it definitely didn't seem like it was to catch a breather. Although why he hasn't alerted the grown ups is beyond me. Let's just hope it stays that way.
Spike stopped for a moment to sniff several flowers, and then promptly consume them with a smile on his face. Spike chewed on the flowers for several seconds before swallowing his mini meal and looked down to see what exactly had made the grown ups stop walking.
Longtail looked down from his perch on top of Spikes head and frowned. "Something made the grown ups stop walking... it looks like they're staring at someone... or something." he commented with worry.
Rick gave a sly smile at guessing who it was at the base of the mountain.
"Oh I woldn't worry too much... it certainly shouldn't be considered dangerous." he said continuing to grin.
~~~

Grandma Longneck squinted a little harder to try and make out the figure below and was shocked when they stepped into the light cast by the bright circle. "So, that's where he's been..." she said aloud.

The figure stood at the base of the valley wall and turned to see a rather confusing sight... but knowing it would be best to get straight to the point the figure stepped into the light shining from the bright circle and slowly began to climb the path the grown ups happen to be walking revealing himself to be none other than Cyrix!
