The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

What did you get for Christmas?

I'll count in some presents from my brothers which we'll use all together.

Bluray discs of:

Snow white
Bolt
Pinocchio
Ice age 3... However with this movie the sad thing is that the disc was not included :( The present got bought months ago so it's not likely that the shop will hand us one after all.

For the rest we got a couple of PokÈmon Cards which was nice for our collection.

I got a guitar and Disney Monopoly (which I bought myself and my mom told me it had not arrived yet :p )

And from Tim I got an ornament for in the christmas tree which was really quite sweet.

I got a lot more expensive gifts than I expected I would, but considering how happy I was with them, I figure I don’t have the right to complain: :p

ï Two paleontology books: The Rise of Amphibians and Dinosaur Odyssey

ï A flipô digital camcorder (I didn’t even ask for one, so this was a major surprise! :o)

ï The first five seasons of MythBusters on DVD :wow :DD :smile

ï A little ammonite fossil (about 4/5 of an inch in diameter)

ï A box of cordial cherries (yum! :P:)

ï A small, bell-shaped cheese grater (this one, left by Santa, was too weird not to mention. :lol Still, I love putting extra cheese on my frozen pizzas, so it’s a practical gift, anyway.)

Pronounced "pan-JEE-uh". Spelled with three A's. Represented by a Lystrosaurus.

As far as I can recall, I don't think I've ever gotten this few things, but I'm not complaining.

- two pairs of pants
- a winter hat and a pair of gloves (though I think I'll hardly ever use them)

and for Bionicle related items:
- five books:
   - graphic novels 5, 6, and 7 (I don't yet have 1, 2, 3, or 4)
   - Raid on Vulcanus
   - The Legend Reborn (novelization of the latest Bionicle movie)

I actually didn't get any Bionicle sets. Then again, there really weren't many that I had asked for.

My first fanfiction: Quest for the Energy Stones
My unfinished and canceled second fanfiction: Quest for the Mask of Life
My currently ongoing fanfiction series: LEGO Equestria Girls

We aren't opening gifts until January 3rd when my sister is back home in the area, so it'll be a while before I write anything here.

Looks like many members earned many gifts this holiday season.

Nothing.....zilch.  My family wanted to save money this Christmas, so we didn't even celebrate it.  In fact, I just got up and it's ten minutes to 8:00pm here. :p I slept for 22 hours straight....right through Christmas day.  Since no clients made appointments today (big surprise), I got the day off and I slept right through it. :lol Now perhaps I can work on TheLandBeforeTime.org website all night, as I certainly can't go back to bed now.

What I would basically do if I got nothing, I would either go on-line and buy/download something or go out and buy something and call that my Christmas gift.  That way, I wouldn't feel so bad. ;)

It was actually kinda nice not to have Christmas this year.  I didn't have to stress over what to get people for Christmas and no money was spent unnecessarily.  I usually just end up getting my family computers, computer parts, or upgrades for their computers anyways.  I'm not opposed to doing this again next year.  I just got out of the shower and I'm feeling mighty fine.  I think I'll write for a bit and work on a couple of websites.

As to getting myself a gift....nah.  There's not anything I really need right now anyway.  I'd like to replace my 20" monitor with a 22", but I don't really count that as a "need."  I just bought an awesome laptop for $140 that I'll resell for $250 tomorrow.  I guess that could be my "gift." :p Then I gotta go buy 4 more laptops for this guy.  I should make about $100 profit on each.  He also wants me to fix his existing laptop, which I should be able to do for about $100.  In all, that's $610 in profit.  Not bad considering the slow times are after the holidays. :yes

As you get older, perhaps the gift receiving matters less.  Even if I received one thing or nothing, life would still go on for me. :)  Like I said, I'm a pretty humble person and don't need anything at the moment.
