The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

EDIT: forget it...ask for my opinion on MSN.  -_-  Fruitless to say what I want to say here since some aren't going to like it.

Alright, since I have the time, and you guys are ready for anything I dish out here goes:

If what Aria says is true, it's obvious this franchise is slowly going bankrupt.  TV series' are the kiss of death--once they're done, they're done.  Plus she mentions that they're whining about budget constraints which likely means that the series hasn't been as profitable as of late, and therefore the execs are unlikely to take a cut so to speak to produce more of the talking dinos.  TV series cost less, so if they can't afford (or don't want to afford) another film because it requires a higher quality of animation and computer effects, they're ready to pull the plug.  It's so obvious.  They're not making money and just trying to get every penny out of it possible before its RIP LBT.

In other words--nothing good can come from this tv series if the fans wish for more of the talking dinos--the tv series is the end of the line.  Those that wish to see the series dead will praise the tv series because I don't believe it will get far.  The plots on the films have been wanting, so what makes them think they can pull off twenty six more of them?

Chow until this weekend. ~Roger

That very well may be the case Arvens. After putting out 11 sequels, profitability is indeed an issue. The recent sequels have appealed to younger kids and diehard fans, but mostly to younger kids. with such an aidience in mind, quality isn;t much of an issue(little kids will watch Just about anything, even if the show is brain-numbingly simple). consistentcy isn't an issue either (see return of littlefoot's father in lBT 10, which contradicts the original film). And one is left to wonder if the directors really even care at this point. (Ex:"Let's ship #12 through. Geez, don't those little kids realize the films are basically the same?")

Certainly.  Kids won't catch on that the films basically repeat or contradict each other, but the longtime fans do.  That's why I have serious doubts that they can do 26 episodes that are not so similar that it doesn't get pulled early because they're out of ideas.

To solve that, they could take the 'Anime" way out, and make it so that each season has it's own plot. One plot=One Season. It could easily work.

Universal Studios Preps Land Before Time Animated Series
LOS ANGELES, August 8: The newly formed family entertainment label Universal Studios Home Entertainment Family Productions (USHEFP) has commenced production on the 26-episode The Land Before Time, which is slated to debut on Cartoon Network in 2007 and will be distributed on DVD by Universal.

The Land Before Time movies have collectively sold more than 60 million units worldwide. The TV series will include many of franchise's most memorable characters, including Littlefoot, Cera, Ducky, Petrie, Spike and Chomper in all new adventures. It will be created using a combination of 2-D animation and 3-D backgrounds.

"There is a huge consumer demand for high-quality, family-friendly content both on television and in the home entertainment arena," said Craig Kornblau, the president of Universal Studios Home Entertainment. "Universal is committed to tapping its vast catalogue of world-renowned entertainment brands, as well as finding compelling new material, to inspire the creation of original films and series that will serve this growing marketplace."

Glenn Ross, the general manager and executive VP of Universal Studios Home Entertainment Family Productions, added, "We are thrilled to be able to extend the success of this prized franchise to yet another vital platform. Cartoon Network is widely recognized for its trademark quality programming, and we look forward to combining the new The Land Before Time series with the network's esteemed lineup of children's offerings."

Universal will also expand the franchise in 2007 with the 12th direct-to-DVD title Land Before Time: Day of the Flyers. Both the TV series and the new feature-length adventure DVD will be jointly supported by a worldwide licensing program, which will be spearheaded by Universal Studios Consumer Products Group.

So if you get Cartoon Network, you're golden.

I think we're looking at early 2007 if you're in the States...Europe would probably be around September 2007

I'm not a hundret percent certain about the early 2007 and in the worst case we might possibly have to wait till 2008 in Europe, but I'm not a hundret percent certain about that either. I just reckon that it would be high time for them to come up with some official information on "The day of the flyers" if it was to be released about the same time of the year as LBT 10 and 11.

I'm not 100% sure either. I'm simply assuming that trends and patterns will continue to follow through. Since about LBT 8, the UK have had LBT releases arrive around mid-September time and so far the traits have been true for the past 4 releases (i.e. LBT 8-11) Can't speak openly about anywhere else but I'm just logically thinking that this is how it would turn out.

Yeah, we've been having the same relaese dates as you guys since around lbt 8, before when it was on VHS it took 4 months more then in the UK... 2007 is way too far way :D
still I dought lbt 12 will be the sequel to remeber, unless they decide to put Ali in it =p

Yeah, but still appearing in the series isn't the same thing... I mean it was sort of a promise, and being a guest in one or two episodes isn't the same thing as being an important character in a sequel

Very true, but apparently the directors had other stories to tell before telling about the gang's reunion with Ali.

I never really saw it as a promise that Ali would return. I just saw it as a way of signing off at the end of the movie. I can imagine Ali returning in the series at some point coz it seems so effortless to include her in a few (if not the majority) of the episodes of the series.
