Wonder if  Flim & Flam will go to Ponyville again, or if word of what they did will spread.  I was also wondering while I was watching the episode why didn't Applejack take a bottle for Twilight or Zecora to analyze to figure out the ingredients.  I'm sure one of those 2 could have figured out the ingredients.

As I had expected, Applejack got her "key item" in this episode, but what I had not expected was that she got it from a new character (whose name I can't remember). I guess Flim & Flam will never learn their lesson.

Somewhat predictably, the tonic really had no special ingredients at all (just apples and beat leaves), and it was actually just a placebo effect. It's only when Granny Smith clearly tries to push her luck way too far that Applejack finally decides to reveal the truth.

Put simply, the concept was predictable, but there were a few surprises here and there, so it was a rather modest episode.

This is one where I really can't say much.  It was enjoyable, but I didn't like it nor did I hate it.  It's kind of that weird middle ground for me. -_-

Anyways, I like how they went with the placebo effect for the so called "cure-all tonic", because that's the ONLY way it would've worked.  I actually don't find it surprising that Applejack's Rainbow Item didn't come from Flim and Flam.  To be honest, I don't have ANY hope of them learning their lesson.

So, all that's left is Twilight's Rainbow Item.  Any takers as to when that will come?

It seems that the item comes when the episode is focused on them and their element comes into play.  Seeing as how the next 3 don't focus on Twilight, it's down to the last two episodes.  So, a last minute thing?  Don't know how to feel about that.

So, next time is...

Rainbow Dash doing yet another thing to get into the Wonderbolts.  She has to take a History test!

Oh boy!  Always hated history.  I wonder if Dash shares my feelings. :)

That's all from me!

See ya later!

Same for me, pokeplayer984.

It was a good episode, but not totally awesome and not totally bad.
I think Granny Smith is cool, so that was good for me.

And AJ got her key, I expected that. I'm now really curious what will happen in this season's finale. :D

LIVE STREAM POST!

Okay, an announcement before I show the link for the Live Stream.  The last two episodes have been revealed.  They will be a 2-part Special called Twilight's Kingdom.  Here's the link for that.

http://www.equestriadaily.com/2014/04/seas...s-revealed.html

I wonder what the new villain will be like.  If it can handle Discord, then that will be a problem. :)

Anyways, for today's episode, Rainbow Dash has to take a History Test on the Wonderbolts! :o At least Twilight will help her, but it doesn't go as planned.

Here's the link for the Live Stream.

I won't be able to give my review until sometime later on Sunday due to an overnight stay at a certain nearby Hotel and Casino.

Until then, see ya! :wave

I can easily see this episode being a favorite among many fans. I liked how Rainbow Dash wasn't worried at all about the test, but then did a complete 180 after completely failing a pop quiz from Twilight. Even better is how everyone seemed to have their own different method of studying, but the only one that worked was the one that was actually best suited for someone like Dash: multitasking while flying. Considering this is a show meant for kids, the lesson of this episode could definitely be a good one.

By the way, has anyone here seen the two-minute Equestria Girls shorts that have been appearing lately? There's been two of them so far (yes, they are official), and from what I've seen, I am definitely looking forward to the next Equestria Girls movie later this year.

Overall I liked the episode, though I didn't like how Rainbow Dash was able to learn so much in one short flight.   Could have been a bigger lesson if she had kept up thinking she'd ace the test and not study, fail.  Then have the person tel her she can try again next year, then have these different learning methods tried.

One thing I won't forget for the latest episode is "Pinkie the Rapper"!  She keeps either finding a good way to surprise me or a bad one.  This is one of the good ones.

Anyways, I actually feel with Dash on this one.  I hate history to the point where I see it as being a useless subject.  As such, it is no surprise that I would do just as bad as she did at the pop quiz part.

I was quite surprised by how well she was able to remember everything just from flying around.  She was definitely born to be the best flyer ever!  There is no doubt about that! :)

So, the next episode won't be for two weeks.  So, we take a break for now.

Until next time, see ya! :wave

No new episode this week, but a third Equestria Girls short did come out yesterday.

I find myself agreeing with many of the commenters on Equestria Daily. If these two-minute shorts are this good, then I'm definitely looking forward to the actual movie when it comes out later this year.

LIVE STREAM POST!

Okay, time to get back in the game! :) For today's episode, the Mane 6 and Spike all go to Rainbow Falls Traders Exchange to find items they treasure.  However, when things don't go as planned, they learn just how truly valuable their friendship really is.

Hmm... I have a feeling this one could go either way.

Anyways, here's the link for the streams.

I'll give my review after the episode today.

See ya later! :wave

REVIEW POST!

Okay!  This episode... it's a good episode, but not a great one.  The crazy exchanging that Rainbow and Fluttershy went through just for one book was hilarious at times. (Loved the Discord reference involved.) Though I think the one who had the book was trolling them originally.

Rarity and Applejack's argument between what's vintage and what's not.  Yeah, they show just how polar opposite the two are and yet can still be friends.  It's kind of amazing, to be honest.

Then there was Pinkie who was trying to find fair trades for Twilight's books.  I really don't know what to say about that.  Pinkie's fault of opening her mouth when she shouldn't shines through here.  That's either going to be hit or miss for ya!  Trust me on that!

So yeah!  Good episode, but not great.  Still enjoyable though!

Next week, Rarity gets inspiration block and Spike tries to fix it with a spell.  This ends up making both good and bad things come from it.

Yeah... this could be good.

Anyways, I'll put up the YouTube link later today!

See ya later! :wave

I'd say I liked it overall.  Though some parts I did not.  The Pinkie scenes i really didn't.  The quest line of what Rainbowdash needed to get reminded me of some quests in some games.  Annoying to have to go through them.  Surprised folks finally noticed Twilight is a princess, when so many never noticed, like in Rarity Takes Manhatten.  Though some of those episodes feel more like their scripts were written in season 3 before they know hasbro dictated they would have only 13 episodes so they held them over to season 4, and didn't fix that bit where Twilight is now a princess and folks would notice.

I found this episode to be like "Castle-Mania" (third episode of this season) in that it focuses on the entire main six in three separate groups. Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy had to go through a chain of trades, Applejack and Rarity can afford only one item and can't decide who should get it, and Pinkie Pie just makes Twilight feel even more uncomfortable than she already is. Speaking of which, I guess it seems that ponies praise or even acknowledge Twilight as a princess only when it is explicitly stated (referred to as princess Twilight in "Twilight Time", and in this episode as the princess assigned as this year's judge of the trader's exchange). Also, I'm pretty sure this episode had a lot of various things going on in the background, which is sometimes rather amusing.

Four episodes left to go, over the next three weeks.

One benefit of the group being split into 2 or 3 is the story arc for each one is short, and easier to write.  Same as on some tv shows like Star Trek: Next Gen where they have 2 stories in each episode.  Instead of 1 story arc they have to write for a 21 minute episode, with 3 story arcs.  That could make a script easier to write.  Also it gives each pair a decent amount of screen time rather then switching around among the 6 during a scene.
