Talon: An upcoming LBT-like Dinosaur science fantasy adventure show

In the past few months I've stumbled upon promotional material for Talon, a pitch for an animated science fantasy adventure show that pitches itself as "LBT meets Avatar: the Last Airbender." The concept is set in a prehistoric Earth inhabited by dinosaurs with magical powers threatened by an alien invasion and is centered around Talon, a young Dakotaraptor who must assemble a team of other dinosaurs to fight off the mutated minions and bioengineered horrors of the alien invaders. I'm getting heavy Twilight Valley vibes from this and it seems quite ambitious.

Currently, the team is putting together an animatic for a Kickstarter to produce the pilot episode which would then be used to pitch to an existing network, Hazbin Hotel-style.

Wow, that actually looks pretty good. Animated series are fricking hard to make, tbh I’d almost recommend he just do a webcomic for a few years and build up a following, it’s super important to start off slow with this sort of thing and be sure you actually have the foundation (both in skill, community, and vision) to make it happen. I’m concerned he’s jumping the gun by gunning straight for a TV show instead of building experience with the brand/characters and keeping starter objectives reasonable.

I'm tired of things trying to be like Avatar. This looks like something I would have written when I was a kid, heck I could see myself wanting to watch this when I was ten. Now though? Naw.

Last night, I was browsing YouTube for some Bionicle videos when I noticed among the seemingly random recommended videos was this one:

This video was apparently posted only a few days ago, and since I remembered this old topic here, I figured you all deserved to know about the release of the full Pilot episode as soon as possible.

I decided to go ahead an watch it, and I have to say, consider me intrigued. While I won't be following the project closely or providing the creators any support myself, I would be interested in watching any additional episodes if they're able to keep this series going.

Interesting. It was brought up twice in the GOF Discord and I hadn't gotten around to watching it yet, but finally gave it a shot.

I really enjoy the art style/animation.

I preferred it when the dinosaurs couldn't talk, it was a refreshing way to convey emotions and thoughts and I thought they did so rather well. Also the dead parent/seeing them in a reflection thing has of course been done to death, and both were rather quick with abrupt endings, but I understand that this is a rushed pilot episode and they didn't have the time of a full-length movie.

This is so freaking rad! The animation is spectacular and I love the dinosaur designs. I can't wait to learn more about the dino-lore as well.
