The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

^ Cause I started it! :smile :angel

Starting with this post, I'm just a fiend!
Quote
The only wine I ever tasted was at communion and I hated it with a passion.

I still dun like the taste of alcohol.

Then this post:
Quote
As of today, I'm legally permitted to drink alcohol, but haven't bothered to try any. (I don't much like the smell of alcoholic beverages, so I doubt I'll care for the taste, either.)

Then this one:
Quote
I am extremely alcohol sensitive.

Theeeeeen this one:
Quote
I've also tasted communion... it wasn't bad, truth be told... I still hesitate to take it, as I don't like drinking alcohol...

And so on...:lol

I'm wondering why everyone is talking about their tastes or distastes in alcohol   .
Same here. I think that it's time for a change in direction!

There's a sign on the wall but she wants to be sure
'Cause you know sometimes words have two meanings.
In a tree by the brook, there's a songbird who sings,
Sometimes all of our thoughts are misgiven.
Ooh, it makes me wonder,
Ooh, it makes me wonder.

There's a feeling I get when I look to the west,
And my spirit is crying for leaving.
In my thoughts I have seen rings of smoke through the trees,
And the voices of those who standing looking.
Ooh, it makes me wonder,
Ooh, it really makes me wonder.

I generally consider myself a lousy conversationalist. I'm usually too shy to attempt to initiate a conversation, and even when I'm not, I often can't think of how to open one. I'm a lot better at inserting myself into already-running discussions through interjections (of course, that brings up the problem of getting a word in without interrupting someone else). And if someone directly addresses me, asks me a question, or otherwise admits me into the conversation themselves, that helps too. :p At any rate, once I do start talking, there's the issue of my frequent tendency to trip over my own tongue, forget what I was about to say, :slap and/or forget what I was talking about entirely. :bang And if I can overcome all that without looking like the village idiot, I usually have trouble closing the conversation, because I have difficulty telling when the other person wants to stop talking unless they say so, but am afraid I will appear rude if I terminate the discussion myself.

That's what I love about this thread. Little to no conversational aptitude required! (Though if the other participants are making posts in a similar vein, I’m usually not one to change the subject.) :smile :p

Pronounced "pan-JEE-uh". Spelled with three A's. Represented by a Lystrosaurus.

I am a good conversationalist, but I don't get as many opportunities to converse as I might sometimes like...

More onto the new topic, I suck at conversing.

I don't own a car either... no need to have one where I live, and it can be very expensive...

Everything is so far away here that a car is really, really useful.  I completely agree that it is expensive though.  I also receieved my driver's licence in 2004.

I'm going for my driver's license this summer. I don't drive that much, though.

^ Wow, that is interesting.

I might have mentioned this already, but I have a tradition of wearing my "42" Ringer Shirt that I got from thinkgeek.com every Thursday.

I think about spirituality and religion every day. It's just really important to me. Not one religion in particular, all religions are important to me, but spirituality as a whole is important to me.

Also, I never have been spanked in my life. I always get annoyed when people say, "Oh, that was because you were "good"." :p What BS. It was because spanking just wouldn't work for me anyway. And my parents believe that spanking is the same thing as abuse. So yeah...

I don't believe in abortion, the death penalty, euthanasia, or corporeal punishment... or the material, mental, social, economic, and spiritual conditions which promote these things.

Similar to ratlady, I do believe in a God, just not any particular religion's interpretation of God.

I'm a Pastafarian atheist. I don't need to believe in the Flying Spaghetti Monster. I know his noodles are there. So I don't believe, which makes me an atheist. However, I do support the Flying Spaghetti Monster, so I'm Pastafarian. (NOTE: Not to offend any religious people here, but when I say I know the Flying Spaghetti Monster is there, that is just my ego speaking).

Same here.  I don't believe in racism, sexism, or discrimination of any kind.  I also despise domestic violence, child abuse, and animal cruelty with a passion :anger!

^He'd be my cousin, 8 times removed.

Hmm...
I've been stung twice by scorpions, and had a close call with a black widow.  Main reason I have arachnophobia...
