The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

I am about to graduate college!
You too, huh? Congratulations! :smile

In my time at college, I took ten Biology courses and eleven English courses. (I graduated with an English major and a Biology minor.)

I've always been considered very strong for my size.  This started to worry my family when I was in elementary school and started getting physically aggressive with bullies who picked on me, so I was placed in martial arts (Tae Kwon Do) and anger management to learn how to safely and positively channel my anger caused by school bullies.  This really made a difference in my life.  I learned a LOT of self-control and discipline, and I have seldomly gotten in fights since, because I follow the rule of not hitting unless the other individual hits me first.

I'd love to get involved in martial arts again to refresh my skills, but right now I don't have much time or money (typical college student :p).

Today (technically yesterday, but I'm still awake :p), while walking through the woods, I managed to hit my head on a low-hanging tree branch. :wacko This marks the second time that's happened to me this spring. :P:

On the same trip, I also surprised myself when I jumped over a small stream without getting wet. The section I crossed was narrow (four feet, maybe?), but still, I didn't realize I could jump that far from a standing start. :wow

Boring, yes, but it's all I've got for now. :p

I finally passed the driving test a few days ago, after 2 tries and a payment of 3000Ä. FINALLY it's over, the time with my driving teacher was the worst time in my life, it was terrible!

I got a 1 (best mark) in the subject German and a 1 in the subject English, I'm very happy about that. But I guess I'll get a 6 (worst mark) in Math, I don't understand ANYTHING in Math!!

Tomorrow will be the last school test, then I can relax... till the end of the summer holidays. :D

We seem to have a lot in common Walluigifan :)
So  far I was the only one I ever knew whose expanses for the drivers license reached the 3000 Euro mark.
Math gave me a very hard time too in the senior grades.

People seem to break my heart on a regular basis.  Either by dying, or by breaking up with me for no apparent reason.

So I've resigned myself to being a hermit.

I've needed 40 hours, the driving teacher my family chose is a hustler! It would have been better if we chose another teacher... but it was too late...

New fact:

I almost collapsed today inside the bus, the air was very very bad..., one or two minutes before we reached the next bus station, I suddenly felt very bad and I became giddy. Fortunately we arrived the bus station at the last second and after 5 minutes of rest at the fresh air outside, I felt comfortable again. There were cool perspiration on my forehead.
That only happened because the busses are always crowded!! -.-

Sorry about your fish, WAbam. :(

I continually astound myself with my own absentmindedness. Last night I saw that the paper towel stand in the kitchen was out of paper towels, so I took off the cardboard tube, walked over to the nearest recycling bag (not much more than six steps away for me), disposed of it, walked back into the kitchen (again, I only took about six steps) . . . and immediately asked myself, “Now what was I going to do again?” :confused I’m guessing it took me about a minute to remember that I was replacing the paper towels, and that I was about to go get a new roll. :wacko

It's been a while since I posted here, so I need to think of something to say.

Let me see...

Oh! I know! My parents are moving to Arizona while I am going to Troy for college.

I am quite a good climber but I have a mild fear of heights.

My conformation (to use a dogshow/equestrianism term) is apparently well suited for climbing, ballet and gymnastics - long limbs, thin body, high flexibility, surprising strength.

Today I've got my worst mark ever. It's a F (15%) in math (In Germany: 6). Anyway, I'm very satisfied with my marks and my school report is good (ÿ 2,31). :D

I earned the top grade in seventh grade biology (101%) after I got really pissed off at my instructor.  At the beginning of the school year, I had not done as well on a test as I thought did.  My instructor's response when I talked to him about it?  I should not expect myself to do very well in science since I'm a girl :anger!  I sure proved him wrong :p.

BTW, if somebody tells me I can't do something or I'm not good enough, I do my best to prove 'em wrong ;).

^Awesome!!!!! :D

Unfortunately, science was never my strongest point, but I guess it mostly had to do with not really understanding the information I was given. I was always in a mind fog when I was around that age. I mean I COULD get it but not really. :p

Yeah, way to go, CT! :smile

I’ve been obsessed with science (particularly biology, particularly animals) for as long as I can remember. I took ten Biology courses during my time at college, and graduated with a Bio minor. The reason I didn’t go for a major is that I probably wouldn’t have been able to take all of the additional courses required for one and still graduate in four years (In retrospect, I suppose I could have just stayed longer, but since I’m not planning to be a biologist, I don’t know if it would have been worth it ). Additionally, one of the courses the Bio major required was Calculus, which I would have failed miserably at. :p

EDIT: Holy buckets, I just noticed that I not only posted already in this thread about the number of Bio courses I took in college, but the first post is at the top of this same page! Another sign of my deteriorating memory. :rolleyes

Yay! Science peoples. After four years of college, I plan on having a double degree in mathematics and physics with a minor in computer science.

Physics and Astronomy are the types of science that I've always been interested in and did very well in such classes. Geology isn't one of my very strong interests, but I'm still rather good at it.  Biology, on the other hand, I really didn't do that great in that class.

In response to your comment, Chronicler, I got interested in physics through astronomy.
