Rat_Lady 7: Allow me to answer the questions you have for my ideas.
Since it takes all day to get from the Great Valley to Ruby's family's home, I was thinking that the group of four would arrive by late afternoon or early evening and Claw is given the cure right away. They decide to stay there for the night, during which Chronicler goes off on his own and encounters the talking Fast-Biter. Also, I wasn't thinking of the two particular Rainbowfaces in the valley. Chronicler knows how difficult it would be for the Fast-Biter to capture one of those two, so he's assuming there are many other Rainbowfaces like them that just aren't in the Great Valley.
I'm only planning on making one sword, and using it as a weapon of intimidation with no intention of harming anyone (hacking off some tree branches with ease would be a great demonstration). Also, I guarantee there will be none of that industrial-type-weaponry, mostly because they all require gunpowder, which is much harder to make than you might think. Getting the key ingredients, hard as that may be, is the easy part; the hard part is mixing them together in the correct amounts. Even if you did know what the correct mixture is, which Chronicler doesn't, it would still be very difficult to get it right. In other words, there will be no guns or cannons in this RP at all simply because the gunpowder would be far too difficult to make.
For the final idea, I already mentioned that Chronicler, who is unable to go anywhere, convinces Ruby to fight the Fast-Biters the way he would have done so. Ruby does a good job at first, but it's ultimately too much. A rescue at the last possible minute is what I had in mind. As for who will come to the rescue, I think I'll let Myrkin decide that, since Chronicler sends Claw and Chomper to get help.
