The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

As Pangaea and Guido approached the Rock Circle, the former’s mind was churning with ideas, as he pondered what he would say at the meeting should his input be needed. It usually took Pangaea a while to formulate an argument from scratch, and there had been many times in the past when he had devised a sound line of reasoning too late to share it in the discussion it applied to. Therefore, he wanted to have something prepared to say in case Mr. Threehorn presented an unfavorable contention.

Pangaea found himself distracted somewhat from his thoughts as he and Guido entered the Rock Circle, passing under the massive stone arch overlooking its entrance. The meeting place itself resembled a natural amphitheater, with tiered terraces of rock encircling the stage-like center.

The two gliders had arrived somewhat late, and a substantial crowd was already gathered there. Pangaea marveled at all the different types of dinosaurs present; so many creatures he had spent his entire life wishing to see in the flesh, standing all around him. For a time he forgot his apprehension about the meeting, as he gazed, mesmerized, at the menagerie of dinosaurs assembled in the meeting place.

Soon, however, Pangaea realized that he was attracting his fair share of glances himself, most of them from dinosaurs he didn’t even recognize, except possibly as background characters from the LBT films. He wasn’t sure whether they were looking at him because of his bizarre appearance (Guido was the only Microraptor they had ever seen, and Pangaea, with his larger size and striking red plumage, was all the more noticeable), or because they thought he was staring at them. Maybe it was both. In any case, it made Pangaea feel self-conscious, and he tried to make himself inconspicuous. He found himself growing increasingly anxious, and began glancing nervously around the meeting area, each turn of his head a birdlike twitching motion (This had nothing to do with the biological avian affinities of his new body; it had been typical nervous behavior for his human form as well).

Pangaea uttered a quiet, high-pitched, shuddering sigh as he attempted to calm himself down. He returned to brainstorming potential arguments, as he waited for the meeting to begin.

Chronicler and Ruby were among some of the last to arrive at the meeting, since they had to come all they way from the Smoking Mountain. At least Fast-Runners like them were good at traveling long distances in a short time. "It looks like we're not too late. That is good," said Ruby.

Chronicler found a good enough place for him and Ruby to stand for this meeting. He stepped in between Anna and Pangaea and place his rock on the ground in front of him, so he wouldn't have to hold it the whole time.

Claw and Chomper came to Rock Circle, following the rest of dinosaurs who were heading that way. After they arrived, Chomper picked a place for him and fastbiter to stand throughout the meeting. This place was located very near to where Ruby, Chronicler, Anna and Pangea were. As they waited for the meeting to begin, Claw hoped that it will end well and that the Valleyers won't banish him and others newcomers. Perhaps, if they convince them that they are not a threat, then they will allow them to stay. All the humans needed to do at this meeting is to act calmly, reasonable and friendly to be accepted. That was the way Claw saw it and he hoped that he won't turn out to be wrong about it...

Amy was having trouble keeping up due to her leg and then she looked back at Vincent, realizing he didn't move at all.

"Hey Vin, are you coming? Hehe, you could put your debate skills to the test with this guy." She chuckled trying to be a bit humorus since everyone was so intense.

Little Foot saw his dad and Shorty and gave an excited grin to them. He was amazed that his dad and his "brother" would come this far to see them. And quite frankly, he was happy.

Mr. Three Horn was near a rock, and he waited and waited for the talking and such to stop.

Petrie's mom then yelled, "Pterano, wake up!" and shook him.

My goodness my brother sleeps like a tree truck on it's side...

Cera and Tricia found a spot near Anna and Ducky and sat down and sat next to Ducky. who was sitting to the right of Anna.  Anna was standing with the other adults.  Cera was worried about the fate of the newcomers, and she was hoping the meeting would go alright.  She could already see the newcomers meant to harm to the valley residents, and she hoped the more closed-minded adults would be able to see the same thing.  She then looked up at Anna, and she could tell her friend was holding in her emotions.  Anna was not very good at hiding her true feelings.  Cera then leaned in close to Ducky.

"Is she okay?" Cera whispered to Ducky.

"I do not know.  She told me she cannot talk because she may seriously offend someone, yep yep yep," Ducky whispered back.  It then dawned on Cera that Anna was an internalizer just like many members of Ducky's species.  She had witnessed Ducky have meltdowns in the past, and she believed it is scarier for a normally good-natured person to freak out than a hot head.  Cera then remembered how Anna had gotten upset at Mr. Threehorn the day before, and how she had basically told Cera to shut up and listen to her later on when Cera kept arguing with her during an emergency.  Cera knew she had been at fault for that and deserved getting yelled at, but she also remembered how it had spooked her so bad she could've cried.  The only other person she could think of who had ever made her cry was her father.

"Have you ever heard her when she's upset?" Cera whispered again.

"Oh, yes yes yes.  Yesterday, after we left your father and Pterano, she was still very upset.  She did warn me she can have a bad temper, yep yep yep," Ducky whispered back.  Meanwhile, Anna could hear everything the two dinosaurs said.  She knew she was a good-natured person.  She wanted the residents to know she and the other newcomers were friends, not enemies.  Truth is, she only liked others to see her normal side.  She did not want to be labeled as a raging idiot when she knew she was not like that at all.  This being the case, she would do her best to contain herself.

If I can just keep my sanity through this meeting, maybe I can go somewhere and vent quickly afterward.  That way, I will not take out my feelings caused by bein' overstimulated on anyone, and everyone can continue to like me for my normal kind nature, Anna thought to herself.  This is the part of havin' Aspergers that I hate.

Petrie looked around at all the folks present.  He hoped he would be asked to speak, he didn't he could with all those folks around, especially if they were staring at him.

Mr. Three Horn started to speak, "Well, it seems that everyone is here."

There was whispering and talking still around, so Mr. Three Horn yelled, "QUIET!!!"

There was dead silence, so Mr. Three Horn spoke, "Now everyone here knows about what happened last night. Sharpteeth came into the valley and nearly killed us!" He looked to Grandma Longneck with a stern face, mixed with pity, but slight pity.

"Red Claw and his cronies nearly killed our children and everyone else! Thankfully, me and few others were able to chase them away, but still, there's that question that hangs over our heads, how in the world did these monsters get in?!" His voice was strong, sturdy, and powerful. It seemed to echo and bounce off the Rock Circle and even the whole valley itself.

Little Foot wondered this himself. Surely the fruit and the blockade around the valley provided protection against sharpteeth?

As if reading Little Foot's thoughts, Mr. Three Horn said, "Surely the smelly fruit in the Canyon and the rock formation protects us from sharpteeth?"

There was muttering in the crowd about this.

"Maybe they found a way to breach the wall, ever think of that" Belmont thought, he never really liked politics no matter where or when he was, and half of it was because he had aspergers although he was still quite smart,Belmont watched Threehorn do what he's best at - lecturing and even blaming whoever he happens to come by,most notably Littlefoot.

Belmont then turned to look at Ms.Maia and she was grinning even more,so much that she was beginning to look like The Joker and all Belmont could think about was how this was going to end.

"Or more likely they found a path way in that we don't know about,' sam said. Sam who was thinking from a military point of view knew that it was possible.

"Maybe..." Tria started, looking at her mate. "Maybe someone from the valley told them how to get in." She shuddered at that thought. What kind of a dinosaur would do that?

Anna felt her blood pressure rise when she looked at Ms. Maia.

I would not be in the least bit surprised if SHE had anything to do with this attack, Anna thought to herself before she brought her attention back to Mr. Threehorn.

"Or," she managed to softly speak up.  "Sharpteeth who have invaded the valley before could've told 'em how to get in.  They might have formed a conspiracy.  I dunno, it's a thought."

Pangaea was relieved that Mr. Threehorn had called the meeting to discuss the previous night’s sharptooth attack, and not to propose exiling any of the recently arrived GOF members. (Hopefully he wouldn’t bring up the subject.)

However, he was rather puzzled about why the valley residents seemed so confused about how the sharpteeth got in. One thing that had long bothered him about the LBT series was the issue of how huge herds of farwalkers, like Ali’s herd, got in and out of the valley, while the Great Wall supposedly kept sharpteeth out. It didn’t make sense to him that the sharpteeth simply couldn’t find the entrances; they lived in the Mysterious Beyond, after all, and had all the time in the world to look for ways into the Great Valley. Pangaea could only imagine that the leafeaters’ assumption that sharpteeth were too stupid to find the entrances was the only reason they had not thought of this themselves.

From the discussions he had seen on the GOF, and his own contemplations, Pangaea was convinced that the sharpteeth stayed out of the valley by choice. While he was reluctant to speak up so early in the meeting, he was afraid that, after Tria’s implication that there might be a traitor among the valley dinosaurs would spur her overly hasty mate to begin accusing GOF members if he didn’t share this theory.

“Um, excuse me,” he said, “I didn’t get in here through a valley entrance, so I don’t know anything about themówhere they are, how hard they are to find; that sort of thingóbut there’s something I’ve been wondering; some of you guys are farwalkers, right? So you use the entrances. What keeps the sharpteeth from getting in the same way? I don’t think they stay out of the valley because they can’t find the entrances; I think they keep out because they don’t WANT to come in.”

He motioned towards Mr. Threehorn. “I mean, what do you do whenever a sharptooth comes into the valley? You fight it off, like you did Red Claw last night. It’s downright dangerous for sharpteeth to come here; the valley’s too well defended. So they stay out. The way I figure it, Red Claw must have had a really good reason for coming here.”

"& there have been times when other not pleasant types have come in.  I have heard rumours that there were egg eaters who snuck in at one time." Flapper said, remembering events of the 2nd movie.

"I have heard of that incident also." Mim said.

"And do you really know all the ways in and out of the valley?" Flapper asked, thinking of all the times Littlefoot and his friends were able to get in and out without being stopped by an adult.

"There lots ways out." Petrie said, remembering how they had been able to sneak out before.

Mr. Threen Horn narrowed his eyes at Johann and he said, "Imply? IMPLY?! I'll tell you what I'M implying!"

And when he heard Anna say someone told them the way in, he said, "Well obviously YOU and other members here did not tell the sharpteeth how to get in. But SOMEONE did. It was THAT flyer! That girl flyer who Pterano and that human creature followed here. She was beat up because she was fighting Red Claw, SHE herself said she blinded him. She is to blame for all of this."

"Yes. You're right Mr. Three Horn."

Everyone else turned around to see Amy staring at him straight in the eye. Mr. Three Horn stared at her.

She got some glares from Ms. Maia, always protective of her children, she growled at Amy.

Amy limped away through the crowd and she got snarling and growling faces staring at her. She simply held her head high and stared at Mr. Three Horn.

"I DID blind the sharptooth, AND I made a hole in the wall. It WAS an accident, because I can't fly! I admit, this was my fault. All of it. And I won't be the least offended if I was exhiled from here."

"Making amy the scapegoat here will not help,' sam said angrily at mr threehorn. "What amy did was in self defense heck I would do the exact same thing she did if I were in a situation like she was.' "I don't care what you say threehorn if you can not get it that some people have no concern for them selves when some one they know is in danger you are nothing but a coward!'

"Sam is right,' johan said. "I agree,' rita said.

"Amy did a brave thing stepping up to redclaw like that as did sam last night when he stepped up to thud who was trying to attack amy,' mr thicknose said.

Mr. Three Horn growled at Sam and ignored everyone else and just stared at Amy.

"Everyone, who is in favor of this girl leaving? Express it now!"

A few hollered out approval of this, including Ms. Maia.
