The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

"Me glad nest close." Petrie said as he flew towards his mother's nest.  "Me hope others find place out of rain." He said.

--
Grandpa Longneck and Mim went along the direction that Grandma Longneck & Littlefoot went in.

----

Flapper found a small cave he could go into to get out of the rain.  He shook himself just inside the entrance and rubbed some of his body to try to get as much of the water off as he could then went in as deep as he cold into the small cave.

Amy saw a while away that an orange tailed flyer was going into the hole.

Well...he seems a bit alone...maybe I should accompany him. She was usually nervous and self consious around new people, or dinosaurs in this case, but she breathed and tried to walk out of the trees and into the rain again and she called to the flyer in the small cave, "Um...hi! Is it okay if I stay in here?"
--------------
Rebecca lead Petrie away and she called to Pterano, "Come along Pterano!"

Petrie and her stopped at the home and the brothers and sister called out to them.

"Where were you guys?!"

Rebecca smiled warmly at her children and said, "Hush now, just stay inside and stay warm, and I'll tell you all about it."
----------
Mr. Three Horn lead Anna and Panagea away to his mate Tria, his daughters and Ducky and Spike.

"Tria, let's go home, I invited these two to our home, I'm sure you'll be fine with that. There's a cave not far from here, let's go."
----------
Red Claw banged his head on the tree and a few tears fell down his blind eyes.

"Not either one of you know what it's like...why...why would something like this happen to me? The sharptooth those stupid plant eaters fear???"

Upon seeing her father return, Tricia giggled in excitement as she ran up to Mr. Threehorn and nuzzled his uninjured front paw.  This brought Cera's attention to the approaching dinosaurs.

"Finally!" Cera said with a smile as she went over to them.  "I'm glad you're okay, Daddy," she said as she embraced her father's lower left leg.

"I am glad everyone is okay here, yep yep yep!" Ducky added as she dashed over to Anna.  "How is your arm?"

"It's doin' better, thanks," Anna replied as she gently picked up the little swimmer.

"I am glad to hear that, yes I am," Ducky said.  Anna smiled before she brought her attention to Tria.

"It's nice to see ya again," Anna said.

Pangaea idled at the back of the group, slightly behind and to the side of Mr. Threehorn. He remained silent, fearing that it would be rude to interrupt the reunion taking place before him, content for now to simply smile fondly at the sight of it. Inwardly, however, he hoped that someone else in the party would make the decision to approach or introduce him (depending on their level of acquaintanceship with him), as he was longing for some social attention right now (if only to be involved in a conversation), but was too nervous to pursue it on his own. He was so shy that he tended to get an adrenaline rush just from the anticipation of being about to meet someone, as was the case now. This, of course, only served to make him more of a nervous wreck than usual.

Just then, Anna realized Ducky had most likely not met Pangaea yet.

"Ducky, there's someone here I don't think you've met," Anna said as she turned toward Pangaea.  This brought the little swimmer's attention to the red glider.

"He looks like Guido!  He does, he does!" Ducky giggled.

"Of course he does.  Is that a surprise?" Anna asked out of curiosity.

"Guido said he has never met another one of his kind, yep yep yep," Ducky replied.

"Well, now ya know there's more of his kind around," Anna said.

"Is he mad?  He is so red, yep yep yep," Ducky asked out of concern.

"No," Anna chuckled.  "That's his normal color.  He's very nice but looks very shy.  Why dontcha introduce yourself to him?  I'll be right here."

"Okay!  I like friends, yes I do!" Ducky chirped as Anna set her on the ground.  Ducky then approached Pangaea.

"Hello!  I am Ducky, and I hear you are very nice, yep yep yep.  What is your name?" Ducky asked.

"Me glad we all here." Petrie said happily to his family.

--

Flapper looked at the entrance and at Amy, "Sure.  it's not a huge cave but more then large enough for the 2 of us." He said, "and back there looks like a slight curve that may be out of the wind too." He said.

Pangaea raised a hand in a timid wave as Ducky noticed him. “Hi, Ducky,” he said with a shy but friendly smile, his voice shaky from a combination of nervousness and excitement, “M–my name’s Pangaea. Yeah, it’s a weird name...kinda wish I’d chosen something different. Uh...a–a–at any rate, it’s great to meet you, Ducky. Really, really great. It'd be a pleasure to be your friend. An honor, even.”

He quickly fell silent again, wondering if he’d just made a fool of himself as he waited for Ducky's response.

(OOC: Incidently, my position and expression at the beginning of this scene probably looks exactly as I drew my dinosona.)

Amy wipped the water off her and she shaked feeling the wind blow onto her skin. She went deeper into the cave and said, "So, are you a native here? I'm new here myself, I'm Amy and you are....?" She said to try to make conversation.

Rebecca commented, "Well almost everyone...Pterano might come, I sure hope he does." She sighed in spite of herself. If he didn't come she knew her son Petrie would be very disappointed.

"Anyhow, kids I want you all to stay warm and huddle up." She nudged one of her daughters near her and her daughter sighed as she felt the warmth of her mom.

"Well, there was a meeting going on the valley and well...some things didn't work out  so a ruckus broke loose. No one was hurt badly thankfully. And one of the new flyers here, Amy accidently made a hole in the wall trying to come in here."

One of Petrie's brothers pipped up, "Why couldn't she just fly over the wall, what was she stupid?"

Rebecca narrowed her eyes at the boy. "Of course not! She just didn't know how else to come in. She's just a late bloomer at flying that's all. It's nothing to be ashamed of either. I knew plenty of flyers before that couldn't fly at a certain age." She nuzzled her son Petrie and continued, "Well, so everyone was trying to help her plug the hole and well...it definitely worked...but two new members accidently got out. We will help them, but in the meantime we just needed to get out of the rain."
--------------
Mr. Three Horn smiled at the conversation going on between the others. He nudged Tria and said, "How were the kids doing? Were they behaving?"

Rick had found that the trees made rather excellent cover from the rain. Coupled with the fact that he had more time to spend with Longtail.
"So Longtail, you got any stories you'd like to share? Seeing as how we may be here a while?"

The young flyer looked up to face the Longneck and sighed. "I suppose I do...which one would you like to hear?" he asked honestly.

Rick thought for a moment knowing most of the stories Longtail had to tell would be ones he knew already, but he simply grinned and replied, "Tell me of how you met Zaine."

Longtail gave a small laugh at that statement as he said, "Sure...well, it all started a few cold times ago. I was in a bad way, I was trying to hurt my friends and I didn't care who got in my way....And I was willing to prove it as I lashed out at anyone..even my own Uncle who tried to help me. And at one point I did indeed kill another valley member, but he had it coming for a long time, trust me.
After that the valley leaders cornered me by the south wall, and just before they could begin talking or fighting, and I'm sure it would've been the latter, I managed to get away and flew as fast as I could. I then stayed at the Tree of Life for several bright circles, but just as I thought there was no hope for me, I met Zaine...and by accident no less as I was asleep in the branches of the tree and fell out. In the end, he helped save me and the rest of the valley as well. And I'll never be able to thank him enough for that."

Rick smiled and nodded his head without saying a word, and then Longtail asked a question.

"Why are you and the newcomers here anyway? Not that its bad, I'm just curious."

Rick gave a nervous grin as he replied, "Well...I think we came here because we were meant to, as if some other worldly force guided us here for something that could be dangerous like Red Claw."

Longtail couldn't argue with that statement.
"Yeah, you guys really did help out alot with Red Claw, and let's hope he doesn't come back for a long time." he said with a smile.

Thomas sat down in the cave... he wondered what was going on outside.

"Sam, how did you ever get to the valley?" he asked.

Ruby and Chronicler eventually made it back to the cave. Once they were inside, Ruby shook herself dry. Chronicler try to follow her technique, but slipped and fell over before he could finish. "Ugh, I hate this crappy weather," said Chronicler.

"At least we are in a cave where this bad weather won't be so bad for us," said Ruby.

Chronicler looked around and soon found the rock he had left here earlier today. Unfortunately, due to the weather, it was too dark right now for him to work on that rock. "Great, it's too dark to work on this rock. Now I've got nothing to do." He then sat down. "I'm bored."

Ruby sat down next to him. "You can never have nothing to do. If you can't do one thing, you can always find something else to do." Ruby thought for a few seconds. "Maybe you can tell me about that word Claw said to you this morning that made you say he knew too much about you."

Chronicler sighed. "Do you really wanna know?"

Ruby nodded.

"Alright, let's see... where do I start?" Chronicler thought for a minute. "Well, in the universe where I and the other humans came from, many of the events that happened here in this universe are considered nothing more than... a series of stories." Chronicler tried to explain it in such a way so that Ruby would be able to easily understand it all. "Although I always enjoyed hearing that series of stories that was this universe, there was one series of stories that I always enjoyed hearing most of all. This series of stories is called 'Bionicle'."

Red Claw smelled and felt the rain falling, disguising his tears. He roared more and more, groaning, and weeping.

"Leave me alone you two! Just leave me be!" He ran to the other side, with his powerful legs, fully charged to ran away. He kept bumping into objects as he fled.

As he fled, he completely forgot about the three horn carcass that lied there next to Screech and Thud, now that Red Claw was gone, Screech and Thud could have the carcass all to themselves.

While waiting for the orange flyer's response, Amy held herself tightly, trying to feel warm.

I wish I had blankets or something...
----------
Little Foot walked along side with his grandmother and he asked, "Grandma, I want to tell you something...I had a strange dream today and well...it was really creepy. In fact, it was almost like what happened today. One of the new flyers, Amy was in it and she was...well....dying..."

"It is okay if you are shy with me.  I know I talk too much at times, yep yep yep.  I hope I am not scaring you," Ducky replied, having sensed Pangaea's nervousness.

Despite his nervousness, Pangaea couldn’t stop smiling; it was impossible not to, being greeted by someone as friendly (and downright adorable) as Duckyóespecially after she had uttered her trademark “yep yep yep” in front of him. Best catchphrase ever, he thought.

He couldn’t help but chuckle at Ducky’s last comment. “Oh, don’t worry about it,” he said, “It’s nothing personal; I’m like this with just about everyone I meet. I’m the first to admit when I’m scared of something, but you’re the last dinosaur I’d find scary.” He paused, recognizing the unintentional, but subtly familiar symmetry of his last statement. “Did I sound like Ruby just then?” he asked. He stifled another sheepish laugh. “Sorry; that happens with me sometimes: I try to say somethin', but it comes out sounding a little strange. You’ll have to pardon me; uh, let’s just say that if you thought Guido was weird, well...I’m even weirder.”

(OOC: I wrote that line with no intention of imitating Ruby's symmetrical speech style [using "scared" & "scary" and "first" & "last" at opposite ends of the same sentence], but when it ended up that way, it reminded so much like some actual lingual slip-ups of mine that I decided to work it into the scene. :p)

"I'm Flapper, and I'm new here also, so no I'm no native." Flapper said to Amy.  Seeing how cold she was and that he wasn't to comfortable either motioned with one hand, "let's go deeper and get out of this wind." he said.  He was thinking a fire may be nice, but it would be difficult to make one with the wood wet and assuming one knew how, more the just having read how to do it a while back.

---

"Me hope they find place out of rain." Petrie said.

"Sleep stories can tell unpleasant stories, as well as happy and weird ones." Grandpa Longneck said.

Little Foot looked at his grandpa and said, "I know Grandpa, but it was just so....strange that the same things that happened in the dream happened today...like Mr. Three Horn was angry and he attacked Amy and a few others. And Red Claw actually ate the whole valley whole. Including me..."
-----------
Rebecca smiled at her son and replied, "I'm sure they have Petrie."
-----------
Amy was pulled by Flapper and taken into the deeper part of the cave.

She saw a few stones and twigs, so she decided to go to it and try to make a fire. She took some stone and tried to make the fire over the twigs.

This feels like something a cave person would do... She thought to herself.

"It might take long for me to light up but..." Before she would say another however, she was able to light a fire. It was small, but at least she was able to make it.

She stayed near it and tried to warm herself up.
------------
"Everyone, there's a cave over here, we shouldn't get so wet."

Mr. Three Horn picked up Tricia gently in his mouth and lead the way to a cave.

Flapper watched what Amy did.  "Nice, to bad most of the wood outside is wet but this may help.  If you want I can go get some to bring in here to dry out before it is put into the fire." Flapper said.

--

"Me hope so." Petrie said hoping his friends and everyone else would find shelter from the rain.

Grandpa Longeck continued to look at Littlefoot.  "That is interesting, but I do not think even Redclaw is big enough to eat the whole Great Valley.  Did you dream anything else?" He asked Littlefoot.
