The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

Petrie looked at his mother and nodded, "She happier here." He said quietly to his mother after seeing how Amy was talking and such with those present.

"No, you're not causin' any problems here," Anna said to Pangaea.

"She is right, Pangaea!  Friends are good to have around no matter what, yep yep yep!" Ducky enthusiastically added.

"Did he interrupt anybody, Cera?" Anna asked as she glanced down at Cera.  "Be honest."

"No, he's not," Cera said as she slowly approached the glider as a means not to startle him.  She then spoke to Pangaea low enough so her words were out of earshot to her father.

"You'll have to excuse Daddy.  He is...not so quick to warm up to newcomers," Cera whispered before she glanced at the ground.  "I'm sorry about his mistreatment of you and the other newcomers."

Mr. Three Horn, not hearing his daughter, replied to Pangaea with a snort in amusement, "No, of course you weren't."

Little Foot then responded, "So Pangaea, did you come from like where the others came from? You know, the GEE-OH-EF?"
----------
"Good for you Guido, I'm sure Pangaea is happy to have you as a friend too." She smiled in response. "So, I was hoping," She turned to Petrie and his mom as well as Guido and asked, "Would you...um..." She still felt embarrassed for asking for help. "Help me fly?"

Rebecca smiled, "Sure thing Amy, it becomes very routine once you get used to it."

Amy smiled uneasily. Hopefully they won't take to a really high place...god I hate heights...

Pangaea was relieved that none of the others (even Mr. Threehorn) considered his arrival an interruption, though he felt a little self-conscious about suddenly becoming the center of attention.

“Oh, don’t worry about me,” he whispered back to Cera, “I can’t speak for the others, but your dad doesn’t bother me too much.”

He then responded to Littlefoot’s question. “Why, yes, actually, I am a GOF member. Why do you ask?”

--------------------------------------------------

“Well, I’m a glider; I can’t really fly myself,” Guido said, “But I helped Petrie practice for the Day of the Flyers, so I’ll do what I can.”

"Thank you guys." Amy blushed shuffled her feet, still feeling awkward and stupid asking for help to learn how to fly.

Rebecca smiled, "You are very welcome my dear." She smiled as she put a wing around Amy. Amy was only a few inches taller then Rebecca, but Rebecca was able to half-hug her.
------------------
Little Foot replied, "Well...I just wondered because a lot of the newcomers where from there, what's the GEE-OH-EF like?" He said "GOF" carefully again, empathizing what a strange name it was to him.
---------------
Red Claw decided to roll on his back and just relax for a bit.

"Well boys, when you are done with that carcass, I need you to listen for a moment." He smiled, thinking of some more diobolical plans to get to the valley again and eat those darn kids...and that flyer...

"Maybe some other new comers would like to learn to fly.  Maybe we take turn giving lessons." Petrie said looking at some of the other flyers and Guido.

As soon as Chomper had left the cave, Chronicler picked up a smaller nearby rock and began to chip away at the obsidian. He intended to sharpen only one edge of it in order to make it easier and safer to carry around.

As Chronicler worked, Ruby decided to get some lunch for herself and for Chronicler. After finishing her lunch, she brought back to the cave for Chronicler some food, which he quickly ate before resuming his work.

After a few minutes, Chronicler examined the now sharpened edge of the rock. After testing it out on some grass outside the cave, he determined that it was sharp enough. But just in case if it wasn't, he decided to keep the smaller rock with him in case if the obsidian needed to be resharpened.

"Alright, Ruby, I'm ready to go," said Chronicler, carrying his sharpened rock and being careful with how he handled it.

"Okay," said Ruby. "I think we came this way, so we'll have to go this way to find the 'bamboo' we found."

They then started heading back to the small bamboo forest.

"I have a right to collect anything I want. It's just junk anyway."

Rick and Longtail had stayed in the cave for a short while longer just talking to one another, but upon getting bored and at Longtail's request Rick was now carrying Longtail on his back towards Littlefoots nest. He sighed gently as he couldn't believe he was playing butler to a flyer. "Perhaps you'd like to fly Longtail?" he questioned.

The flyer smiled and replied, "Nah. I'm fine just where I am."

Rick laughed.
"Just don't fall asleep, I think we're almost there." he commented with a smirk knowing that if Longtail did fall asleep he'd most likely fall off.

Spike stepped forward and gave Ducky a gentle lick and smiled as if to say 'Friends aren't the only important thing family matters too.' He then sniffed the air and stepped over to a set of trees and smiled again as he could smell Longtail along with another newcomer heading their way.

"What is it, Spike?  Do you smell someone?" Ducky asked as she joined her brother.  This got the attention of Anna, Cera, and Tricia.

Oh, drat, Pangaea thought. How the heck am I going to explain computers and the Internet and the GOF to him? He wasn’t even sure if Littlefoot knew whether he and the other visitors were from a different universe.

“Uh...well...I’m not sure where to start,” he replied uncertainly, “If any of it’s going to make sense, I’d have to go over a lot of extremely complex and unfamiliar concepts that I’m not sure I can explain in understandable terms. What do you already know about it?”

"What's this about complex concepts" Pterano asked, having been listening in from a tree above them. Yes, he had been resting in a tree for a while. A long while. He was absent for far too long. "Thomas" was still in a cave somewhere, and Tria was with her mate.

Spike smiled and stepped back as if to present someone and made a trumpeting noise through his nose.

At that very moment Rick stepped into the clearing and was surprised to see so many of the valley members nearby...but with the rain being over it would only make sense that the children would want to play. Rick then simply smiled and said aloud, "Hi. Nice to meet you all."

Longtail then slid off of Rick's back and greeted his friends.
"How did you all do during the skywater?"

Grandpa Longneck walked over to the nearest place he liked to eat from.  "They'll be a bit damp but still good eating." He said.

Little Foot looked up to see Pterano and he replied in a bit of a monotone voice, "Oh, hi Mr. Pterano." He didn't want to be rude, but there was a part of him that still doubted Pterano and his actions.

"Anyhow Pangaea, "Well, all I really know is that some of the dinosaurs here didn't really see each other face to face. It was as if they're eyes were covered and couldn't see each other, yet they could talk to each other. That's how I understand it at least."
--------
Mr. Three Horn saw Pterano also and he grumbled.

Pangaea was at first confused by Littlefoot’s words, until he realized that he was referring to the fact that most of the GOF members only knew each other online, and had never personally met. Truthfully, he was a little uneasy about explaining such a difficult concept with such a large crowd (by his standards) around him, especially with Mr. Threehorn and Pterano around, but he didn’t want to be rude, either.

“Well,” he said, “you’re right that most of usóif not all of usóhave never seen each other, but it’s actually because we all live so far away from one another. The thing is, we can still communicate with one another, because of these...thingies we have called computers.”

He struggled to find an analogy. “It’s like...well...think of a little cave opening that you can’t physically enter, but can talk into. Now imagine that you have friends all over the world who have their own little cave entrances, and even though they’re far apart, all the caves open up into the same big cavern. Everyone can talk into their own cave, and everyone else can hear them, even though they can’t see each other. In our terms, each of the little caves is a computer, and the cavern is the GOF.”

He shrugged. “Mind you, that’s not literally how the GOF works, but it’s the best way I could think of to explain it. Sorry if I didn’t do very well. It’s REALLY hard to describe.”

Little Foot's brows lifted up and he said, "Wow! That's amazing, do you think me and my friends could do that? Use a...uh...COM-PU-TER?" He said "computer" carefully, empathizing what a weird, but interesting subject it was to him.
--------
Rebecca heard voices on the other side.

"Dears, I hear a few others over there, maybe they're having a meeting."

Amy heard the voices too and thought she heard Little Foot's and Pangaea's voices. And Pterano's.

"Well..um ok...I guess..." She turned to Gudio and said, "Would you like to see them Guido? I think I heard Little Foot and the others over there."

"Let's all go and see them." Petrie said to the others present & curious who was there and what they were talking about.
