OOC: Amy beat me to the correction.

It IS Guido who showed up, not Pangaea.

“Heh, thanks,” Guido said as he came closer. He studied the piece of fish closest to him, then gave it a cautious lick. “YEOW! Ow! It’s hot! Yow!” he cried, jumping back, his eyes bulging and his slightly scalded tongue hanging out of his mouth.

Some distance away, Pangaea heard Guido’s yelps of pain. “Uh, sorry, hold that thought,” he said to Amy. “Follow me if you want.” He ran off in the direction of the cries.
A moment later, Pangaea arrived at the volcanic vents where Guido, Anna, Ducky, and Rocky were. “What’s wrong? What happened?” he asked Guido, concerned.
“Uh…Ah trahd a pieth ah Anna’th fith and ih wath really hot,” Guido explained, his tongue still hanging out.
Pangaea’s eyes widened. “Whoa, you tried a piece of fish?” he said in surprise. He hadn’t expected that Guido would be interested in trying such a food. Then he remembered that Guido was in pain. “Er, uh, sorry,” he said sheepishly, hoping he hadn’t appeared insensitive, “You burned your mouth, I’m guessing? Sorry about that. Is it bad?”
“Uh, not really,” Guido said, flicking his tongue a few times in an attempt to remove the scorched sensation. “I just wasn’t expecting it would be hot.”
“Ah, well, that’s good news,” Pangaea said. “How did it taste?”
“I dunno. My tongue was too busy getting burned.”
“You wanna try it again?”
Guido shrugged. “I guess so,” he said. “Maybe I should wait until it’s less hot, though.”
“Try blowing on it first to cool it off,” Pangaea suggested. He attempted to demonstrate, only to find that it was much harder to create a concentrated stream of air with his mouth when he had long narrow jaws and almost no lips.
Guido took his advice nonetheless, and puffed on the fish for a few seconds before tasting it again, this time taking a small bite. The white flesh separated easily from the rest of the fish. After mashing it up between his jaws and his tongue for a bit, he swallowed it.
“Whoa,” he said, “It’s really soft! You don’t even have to chew it!”
“Good thing, since you can’t chew,” Pangaea noted. “How is it?”
“Surprisingly, it’s pretty good!” Guido said, nodding.
“Well, good for you for trying a new food!” Pangaea congratulated him. He then turned to Anna. “Um…I don’t suppose there’s enough of this fish that I could have a little bite of it too, is there?” he asked timidly.

“
THUD!” Screech bellowed, “
Are you coming with me to find the valley entrance or not?!”
